November 21 st /22 nd From Given to Giver COMING IN TWO WEEKS: Let s Do Christmas Together Our Advent and Christmas Series Take Home Devotions and Activities It all begins November 28th/29th New to the Resource Center or Featured Book: I Will by Thom Rainer for the Sermon Series/Life Groups ~ $5 DVD from Christian Comedian Tim Hawkins: Push, Point, Pull ~ $5 Book: The Story of God s Love for You by Sally Lloyd-Jones ~ $10 Reading Scripture Aloud like God Means It A Workshop for Readers this Thursday at 2:00 or 7:00pm Marcia Luecke is hosting a workshop for those who read the Bible lessons in services, or who would like to in the future. She ll cover ways to prepare and make the Scriptures come alive to the ear. Last Chance to Join the Praise Choir or Orchestra On December 5th and 6th we'll be celebrating the music of Advent and Christmas in the CAC services with praise band, orchestra and choir. Rehearsal for the praise orchestra is this Monday at 7pm and the whole band/choir and orchestra on Wednesday at 7pm. Both are in the Music Rehearsal Room. New Beginnings Christmas Party For a spiritual yet festive evening, get a ticket for the New Beginnings Christmas Party, held at St Michael s Woodside (directions provided) on Sunday, December 13. The meal will be outstanding with several main course choices. There will be entertainment by professionals Bob and Shelly Orlandi, who will also lead us in Christmas Carols, and there will be door prizes. The cost is still $25. Tickets are now on sale in the Gathering Room.

3 Today our youth will continue their journey from I Want to I Will by following the journey of 4 college students living on $1 a day for 2 months in Guatemala...join us for breakfast at 9:20 and a great discussion to follow. Get ready to enjoy the best youth event EVER! ALL 5th-12th graders are welcome! Bring $5 for pizza, a two-liter bottle of pop and snack to share. SAVE THE DATE! Come celebrate the season with music, "Back to the Manger." A contemporary Christmas concert with the Dave Parsons Band will be coming to Faithwalk Church on Saturday, December 12th. A free will offering will be collected to benefit Oaks Family Care Center. Children s Ministry Corner: Bible Story: I Will Serve Bible Reading: Acts 9:36-42 Bible Theme: Tabitha Stop by the tables in the Connection Center and sign the Christmas cards for the college students. You also have the opportunity to donate $10 for a Chipotle gift card. 4 CARE N SHARE Thanksgiving Day is just 2 weeks away! We will host our 26th Annual Care & Share Community Dinner from 1-4 in the Gathering Room. We serve meals at church as well as deliver to those who are home bound. In 1989 we served 100 meals. Last year we served over 1400! You can pick up a grocery bag this weekend to pack for our guests! We thank God for all of our volunteers. We need help BEFORE, DURING, and AFTER Thanksgiving. Please join us this year by helping with this generous undertaking. Sign up Cards are in the commons. You can also stop by the church office from 9-4 during the week. We appreciate any amount of time you can spare. Jobs are small enough so that everyone can help. NovemBEARD IS BACK...That's. right we're delving back into "No Shave November" and making it a fun contest between the "Young Dudes" (those under 40) and the "Not-So-Young Dudes" (those who have crossed the 4-0 mark). You'll have a chance to vote on the best beards from both by November 21st/22nd and each dollar donation to this year's Care And Share expenses will help decide which NovemBEARDs get bragging rights. More details coming, but guys, put those razors away! Pictures need to be turned in by Wednesday, November 18th to be available before the weekend of the 21st/22nd. The one session will be held on Monday, November 16, from 6:30-8 pm. Registration is requested, so please contact Pam Ries, at ext 110, and leave your name, phone number, and the number expected to attend. If you have a heart for those struggling with cancer, and their families, please consider joining the Cancer Companions support team we are putting together. 5 When mom or dad is in prison, their children are often the silent sufferers. Please let them know they are not forgotten by giving a gift on behalf of their incarcerated parent and in the name of Jesus. After all services November 14/15, November 21/22 and November 28/29, visit the Project Angel Tree table in the Gathering Room and pick up a Angel Tree tag that identifies a child you can help this Christmas. Gifts will be delivered to the children December 19th. If you would like to volunteer to deliver gifts, please contact Lynn Ebner lmebner2754@att.net or OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD... Shoe box gift collection wraps up this week please drop off your shoe box gifts by Noon, Sunday, November 22nd. We also ask for any unused fold & form shoe boxes to be returned for our use next year (to help keep our costs down thank you!) WANTED: Drivers With Vans, SUVs or Covered Truck Beds!! On Sunday, November 22 nd at 4pm we ll need help delivering the collected shoe box gifts to our regional Collection Center at North Olmsted Evangelical Friends Church at 5665 Great Northern Blvd, North Olmsted. We will need to cook soup and casseroles on Wednesday, November 18 6:30 pm. All hands are welcome & needed so bring a cooking buddy.
