Put your name on them. Now as you knov, our subject for ths course of les,ons s "THE MYSTERIIS OF THE FOUR GOSPELS*'. Today s the Ffth lesson n the o ourse. Our lesson today s the o hapter of Matthow 26, vors from 26 to 30 nclusve. Ths s park of the tocount of the Lord's Supper or the Laet Supper, just before Jesus' Wruafxon. In t ve read: (26.)And as they wers eatng, Jesus took bread, and blessed t, and brake t, and he gave to hs dscples, and sad, Take, eat; ths s my ' body. (27.) And he took the cup and gave thanks, and gage to them, sayng, Drnk ye all of t; (28.) For ths s my blood of the covenant whch s pourld out for many for the rmsson of sns. (29.) But I say unto you, I shall not drnk henceforth of ths frut of the vne, untl that day when I drnk t nev wth you n my /ather's kngdom. (30 ) And when they had sung an hymn, they vent out nto the Mount of Olves. Now the great queston has beon and s: HOW DO WE DRINK THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST and EAT OF HIS BODYI In the orthodox church they Eake Holy Communon of a lttl oeremony by eatng a crumb o f broad ond sppng a lttle vne, and through ths outer servc affrm they have drunk of the hlfla.andtagtd of the body of Jesus Chrst. Now of coure, tht, 5 does not satsfy the sprtual metaphyscan. WI take the Bble, as you all know, and 1 1 resolve t back nto the prmal deas. We consder that the whole Bble s a desorp- f ton, or a hstory v mght say, of each soul n ts unfoldment from the mortal to the sprtual plane of conscousnees. In order, therefore, tonfnk of the blood and to * oat of th, body of Jesus Chrst, tha frot stop s to RESOLVE THIS WIDLE TI:ING BACK INTO ITS PRIMAL IDEAS. The broad has back of t the dea of LIFE. The body has back of t, as you all knov, the dea of substanc...the st; stance dea. And to approprate the LIFE and the SUBSTANDE of Jesus' BODY must take place through the actvty of the mnd through the mos t hghly acolerated ao tvty of th mnd. There would be no other vay, would ther,1 We as a race have settled do/n and become so crystallzed untl our flsh s not muah more than a mre c rust. Now you know, ve all know, ve should have radant bodes should we notl WI should have llumned bodes, f your wll, electrcal bodes. That' s Ihre w should be n sprtual unfoldment today. Jesus Chrst, through.1 /prtual realzaton, through scentfc prayer, through sprtual revelaton attaned all ths. of hs Through ths procoss, ho was constantly renavng soul, through th renevng mnd,-and we know the body s the frut of the soul,-and vas transform/d nto purs sprtual Insence. Agan, we all know rght here at Unty, ve have been nstructed all through the years, that fhrough Jesus' experence on the cross, he lowered hs conscousness to that * f the raco and thereby vas enabld to admnster to the race a wonderful blood transfuson vhch ve all understand so voll mplanted n both soul and body the mood of.. eternal lfe here and nov--ths seed of dvne substance, here and now. 3 the 1-3- Now that lon't Bo olear te m. I guess t s all rght f you know how to nterpret t from an orthodox standpont. - The Catholc C hurch gave power to the prests that through exaltaton,-es they call t,-of the Host,-that s lftng up of the bread,-he has tho ablty, the sprtual ablty to transform the bread nto the lteral body of Jesus Chrst. In other words, not very Lord' s Supper rpeats that process whch Josus Chrst told us of. Now ther, s no doubt that He had the realzaton of a body--hs body vass't just flash and blood, but t had scme elements n t that the dscples, or those vho looked upon hm, ddnt perceve and couldn' t fgure out, when they asked hs followers, end He sad, "Whom do they say I, the Son of man amt" And they looked at t from the personal: "Shou art Jeremah, or one of the prophete, or Elas con, to earth agan." But " he asked them, "Whom do It say that 1 amt" Peter saah, "Thou art the Chrst, the Son of the lvng God." Then he sad, "Blessed art thou, Smon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed ths unto thee, but my 1**llr n the heavens." Thatte tho sams Ntuaton as whn he told hs dscpls to eat hs body and drnk 1 hs blood--that was a sprtual roalzaton he understood and they ddn' t. It has taken us, (because we aro the followers) a long tme --and w have baleved ths to be a truth based on fale and acknondged t, anc epted t and receved a certan result. We have undoubtdly gotton th, beneft of the lftng up, the rasng of our mnds and our bodes because you cantt lft up the mnd wthout lftng up the body: They are lnked by an nvsble chan of nvsble elemants. You can call t--well.- sprtual lfe gorms; you can call t the radant substance. It doesnt matter so much what you eall t, f you admt that t s a fact--ths* there s an nvdble, radant body, and that. our bodls should be manfostng that radant body nstoad of th, slowed-down flesh-and-blood body. Now Jesus oame to brng to our realzaton ths great Truth that we wre not really lvng n the Kngdom of God. It s here. The poet says, "Enth s clad wth heaven and, every b#sh afre wth God ahd he Tho sees, takes off hs Ihoes-but the boots alt round and pluok blackborres." Now, that' s about the way ve lve n the vorld today. We dont see ths nvsble fre that Moses sav. Wo don' t see overythbng n the unvers s lt up, oustan,d by ths nvsble lfe and that nvsble subttanco. Why, don't ve realze tl Because we haventt attaned the ablty to see sprtually. How shall wo eae uprtuallyl Only through tho exaltaton, the lftng up of our sprtual deas, and that' s exactly vhat Jesus Chrst told us. As 1 Bay, we have boon for two thcusand years observng ths rt, ths o ormony, and yet t s only recently that the scentfc world has demonstrated for us that there e an nvsble electrcal body back of every body, everythng n the unverse. Everybody n the unverse s sustaned by an electrcal energy, an elec troal force and that that eleetroal force fonts the substance that we sae out/ardby. But that there s an csble substano also. Now as I say, ths makes fundamentally, makes substance, ths nner sprtual lfe and ts outor glow. But as Jesus sad, "Except ye eat the flesh and drnk the blood of Son of man, yet have no lfe n you." Ylls outer lfe ve are lvng, a transtory lfe. It s an ophemeral lfe--sn't real. It sn't real untl ve lay hold of the spr- 1tual sde. How mportant t n then that we eat ths Dvne SubBtance--that s, that we approprate the vtamns. They tll us there ara vtal pr ncplas n all the food we eat, but we oan' t get them wthout gong through a certan mental and physcal process. We have to strp the crust off the outer shell before we can gat that vtamn. That vtamn s what sustan the body, gves lfe to t. Now thre, you can see s the key. How can w get nto th s body consoousness and got that vtmnt through our nner eprtual medtaton, t frst, by realzng that va fundamentally are sprtual bengs, that we have sprtual mnds, and through ths sprtual mnd, we lay hold of these el*mente. Jesus told us, he sad man d not lve by brod alone, but by every word that prodooded out of the mouth of God. We do not lve by bread alons. We thnk outwardly, ve have to have food to eat. You don't have to have very much food to lat f you realze the elements n the food. If you knew where vtamns A B and C vere and from vhat certan foods to get those, you could eat those ans save yoursolf a whole lot of fuss n gatherng and cookng the outer food. Wa ar' comng nto that--and when we took p/t n the Lord' s Supper, nstead of havng Tne and bread to pass around, we would pass qround dvne deas, we would cultvatd that sde n our churches. We should have that brotherly love. That 18 where tha church got hold of ths holy communon, that they learn communty n sprt. You fnd people you assocate vth and you lve wth, there ls an ntellgent or nvsble substance there. You fnd that n ever, thl. you put soul nto t. I

4 1 substano -4- What s that soull What composes tl It s composed of those nvsble elments. - All those elements are capable of multplyng and ncreasng--vhy, and that s a ole, f, - - you, f you take the negatve sde and look on yourself as were anmal flesh and blodd, f you lve on anmal food alone, you don't get anywhere. Y,u really degrade yourself. You want to take the upgrade. See yours*lf Rs you ARE. Don't allow any nagatve thought to come n. I read 101On Henry Ward Belcher raceved some very flagrant lettero when he was preaohng and teachng, oapecally the abolton of slavery, he used to road them to hs class-the letters h got. Ona morn he got a letter--he brought a lottor he had just receved. On t vas wrton acrosa the face "F O O L" In bg lttere. He sad, "I rec ev qute a few lotters. Some wth no sgnature. But ths man has wrtten ht, sgnaturo clear across the faoe, wthout anythng else." That s what takes place n all of our experances. If we could throw t off n that happy way, lfe vould be smoother, vouldn't tl Now vo o an partako of ths sprtual substance--see t ag a happy somethrs, a somethng that has to do wth your walbeng. In ths axtract from the Gatechsm I read to you about 'ths vas part of the death of the Lords body', juat skp that-t sn't a body of death--jesus Ch lot ovroam dath, ddn't hot Ho lved, s contnung to lv, and ltvos rght today n our mdst, as dvlne s ubstance and dvne lfe. The mphas, hore confusng, n all of thes passages where he spoke of hs body: "Ths s my body whch was broken for you"...""my blood shed for you". Where ao th' words "brokon" and "shd" come n-where does that come n all Beo ause he knew how hm radanc ns. When ve are n assocaton wth those wo love, ma partake of ther radant bodes and ther radant blood. But to assocate wth a man who had the ablty to undrstand the lava of lfe to the pont he dd, tattate hs healng aharma ter, hs healng lfo, hs healng blood, t thrlls the attenton and the germ cell radates that state. We could all n Sprt rss nto a state of o onscousnoss, partake of and approprate t, s Ixactly what Josus Chrst means, ond vhat h dd and sklt we are just now begnnng to : reald that n our allent medtatons. "Sprtual appropraton", eatng of hs dvne subatanc, and our bodes vll bo ohang.d. Isn't that a wonderful propoetont You oan receve a bodly transfuson from the Lord Jesus Chrst at any tme that you realze that hs body s a radant body and that you can partake of t; that ve can, for example, take one of those dune (fne) cells, thol germ-alls of lfe nto tha mnd and t wll work untl t leavens through th whole body and transform the flsh. You can take one of the grms of tha blood of the Lord Jesus Chrst an eat t n our mnd by fath. le sad all ths was to.be don n rmembrano of hm. Thnk of Josus uhrst.
