Greetings Compatriots, First, I would like to give a big thank you to one of our members, Ms Judy Smith, for her outstanding dedication and photographic skills for without her this newsletter wouldn t be possible. Thank You. May has been one of the busiest months yet for the ANVMC. MAY 2 nd We traveled to Fredericksburg, Virginia for the Smith Run Battle (Monument Dedication), we took part in the Color Guard unit and the wreath laying ceremony. May 9 th took us to Oakwood Confederate Cemetery for the 2 nd Annual Memorial Service hosted by the Virginia Flaggers. Several ANVMC members participated in this awesome service that honored our boys in gray. Many thanks to Susan Hathaway for another outstanding service. May 10 th We took the opportunity to head over to Fort Clifton in Colonial Heights to Flag the History Mobile. Thanks to all who braved the heat. We spoke to a lot of people who took the tour of the history mobile and they all said the same thing, it was all about slavery, so we gave them some reading material to take home. We only had one negative encounter and that was with a SCV member who did not like us being there. May 16 th took us to Chesterfield County Courthouse for Confederate Heritage Day. Other members and I were in the Color Guard unit. Mrs. Teresa Roane was the Keynote Speaker and I might add she did a fantastic job. May 16 th Several of the ANVMC members took part in the ride put together by Bikers Against Child Abuse in Prince George County. May 17 th Our Road Captain, Norman Williams, put together an awesome Confederate Monument Ride that took us to Cumberland County, Buckingham County and Appomattox. We had a great day riding in the Southland. May 23 rd took us to Lynchburg Virginia to the Memorial Service at the King of Kings Church. Commander Reggie Bennett did an outstanding job putting together this service. Sid Lester and I assisted in the services. Sid was in the Color Guard and I played Taps. Thank you Reggie Bennett and the OCR Chapter 13 for such a wonderful day. On the ride home we had to stop at Moore s Country Store so that Barry could get a Famous Moore s hot dog- yum them dogs were good!
Available Patches Now Available! 4 ANVMC patch and rocker. $8.00 for the set These are available from Stuart Barlow or Major Willie Wells. May 24 th took us to Staunton Virginia for a Memorial Service at the ThornRose Cemetery. This was another Outstanding Memorial Service that included General Lee (George Wells) and General Jackson Gregory Randall). The Ride to Staunton was awesome going through the back mountain roads We took a private tour of the Plumb House in Waynesboro. After the Memorial Service, we headed home but not before stopping at Willy s Ice Cream Shop for some delicious ice cream and a photo opportunity. The ride home was fantastic. What a GREAT day! May 25 th took us to Prince George County Courthouse for the Memorial Day service. We had five members present. We laid a wreath at the Confederate Monument and displayed our Flags. Great service. May 25 th we also attended the 17th Annual Confederate Memorial Service hosted by the Dearing Beauregard CAMP 1813 at Blandford Cemetery. The Keynote Speaker was Ben Jones aka: Cooter. I would like to personally thank all of you who participated in all of the rides and Memorial Services. We must continue to forward the colors and Honor our Southern HEROES each and everyday. GOD BLESS THE SOUTH. Deo Vindice, Major Willie Wells Representing the ANVMC: Smith Run Marker Dedication
Chaplain Report Psalm 1. Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. Let s break this down by verse: Blessed is the man who does not follow the lead and counsel or advice from those who would erase our Confederate history. All those who participate in trying to appease the offended, are making a mistake. To be offended at a flag, such as the Confederate flags of our forefathers, means you are offended by a symbol of freedom, and symbol of standing against tyranny. We are all sinners by nature, and the liberal folk, and the like, think we are sinners for waving our Confederate flags, so by their actions of trying to stand in our way and block us from celebrating our heritage, they violate the very heart of this passage. As far as sitting in the seat of the scornful, well they always attack us in media, print and T.V. and of course trying to indoctrinate our children in school to think incorrectly as the liberals do. Smith Run Battle Monument Dedication (con t next page)
Well I have personally committed ALL 3 sins at one time or another, in other areas of my life with regard to this Psalm, the only solution is to walk in the word each day, so that God will bring these mistakes to our attention, so we can stop committing the same sins over and over. It is work, but the rewards are a happy life, God forgives us our trespasses AS we forgive those who trespass against us, so if we stay mad at the liberal people who attack us all the time, we will not receive the forgiveness we need, until we forgive them, as hard as that is for me, I still ask the Lord in my prayers to give me strength to forgive people who chastise us for flagging. I will leave you with this: Blessed are those who are persecuted in the name of righteousness. Keep on Flagging, keep the charge, we will prevail in the end, and God himself will vindicate us, he promises to prepare a table in the presence of our enemies We will be greeted warmly by those we honor here on earth, on that day we leave this plane of existence. Knowing we ALL are doing what is right, gives me peace in my heart, and I pray it does for all of you brave people who weather the storms defending our Confederate heritage!! God Bless, Deo Vindice!!!! Chaplain Boogie Representing the ANVMC: Confederate Memorial Day
Facebook Report: Our public page on Facebook currently has 459 likes. An increase of 50 likes since last month. Flagging at Ft. Clifton outside of the Historymobile. Thanks to the members of the Sally Tompkins OCR Chapter and The Army of Northern Va Mech Cav for showing their support by participating in the fundraiser for BACA Benefit Ride - Biker's Against Child Abuse! Current Membership of the ANV-MC: 54 Members 3 Honorary Members & Several Pending May 16 th Confederate Heritage Day at Chesterfield County Courthouse. Major Wells and Boogie participated in the Color Guard for the event.
Road Captain Report: Confederate Monument Ride A great day for a ride. Norman Williams served as the Road Captain for the day. Our ride took us west along Route 60, where we stopped to visit a number of Confederate monuments. Our ride ended in Appomattox with a visit to the Confederate Cemetery. One disappointing situation that we discovered was that the plaque near the Confederate Cemetery in Appomattox had been altered. The last line had obviously been sanded down. Gratefully we had with us a guidebook that verified the line that had been removed. Shame on the National Parks Service! All photographs used by permission of the photographers.
May 17, 2015 A very brief stop at the MOC in Appomattox for an ANVMC group photo & we were off! Confederate Memorial Day Service - Lynchburg May 23rd: The ANV-MC off to attend the Confederate Memorial Service held at the King of Kings Free Will Baptist Church in Forest VA.
FIND US ON FACE BOOK and BE SUR ETO LIKE US!
Confederate Memorial Day Service - Staunton May 24 th ANV-MC would like to extend a very special thank you to Donald Caul at the Plumb House Museum in Waynesboro for the wonderful tour that he gave us on Sunday.
