John 14:27 Louisville, KY Purpose Statement: It is the objective of The Midwest Women s Conference of the Churches of Christ to bring the ladies in our sisterhood to the full measure of the stature of Christ. This will be accomplished by sound teaching, spiritual services and scriptural fellowship resulting in secured hope, shared love, and saving faith. Our vision is to: EDIFY to build up EDUCATE to enlighten EMPOWER to take ownership ENCOURAGE to give hope EXHORT to lift HIM up Highlights from MWCCC 2016 in Indianapolis, IN Inside this issue: MWCCC Vendors Contract 4 5 Educational Scholarship 6 Souvenir Booklet 7 I want to take a moment to thank all who attended our Conference last year in Indy, as well as our Speakers, Praise Team, MWCCC Workers and Local Co-Hosts Kingsley Terrace church of Christ and the local congregations. What a glorious time we had in the Lord and all the glory belongs to God! We witnessed the Holy Spirit stepping in and taking over! Let me share with you our winners from this Conference. Our incentive winners from preregistration for the 2017 Conference in Louisville whose names were put in a drawing are: Ruby Okusi-Vandarsdale from Park Forest CoC, Madison, IL., and Hattie Christian from East Chestnut CoC, Ft. Wayne, IN received free registrations; Cynthia Middlebrook from Metro Central CoC, Indianapolis, IN., received two free room nights for Friday and Saturday (double occupancy); Sharon Giles from Lansing CoC, Lansing, IL., received a free vendor table; Dr. Reba White from Eastside CoC, Forney, TX received a free full page color AD in our souvenir book, Anna Moore from Highland CoC, Detroit, MI and Janet Anderson from W. Broadway CoC, Louisville, KY., received a $25 lunch voucher from the Marriott. We had two sister-to-sister award winners who will receive their 2017 registrations and hotel stay for Friday and Saturday night paid for by MWCCC, and they are Susie Elizabeth Williams from Chatham-Avalon CoC from Chicago, IL., and Sheila Williams from Kingsley Terrace CoC, Indianapolis, IN. Our Educational Scholarship winners received $500 each and they were Olivia Johnson from Greenville Ave. CoC, Richardson, TX and Octavia Wright from Glass City CoC, Toledo, OH. Our Commumity Award that was collected by the ladies during the Conference was $2, was presented to Harvest Girls International, Inc. of Indianapolis. We also collected $2, after Sunday Worship which will go towards seed money for our 2017 Conference. We look forward to seeing you in Louisville, KY, September 15-17, 2017, Marriott Louisville East, where our theme is PEACE BE STILL, John 14:27. Russell Community Award The MWCCC is committed to community outreach efforts therefore; each year we commit to assisting a community program in the area in which we are hosting the Conference. This could be women in domestic violence situations, addictions, medical, reach to recovery; wherever the Lord leads us to bless the lives of women in that area is where the focal point is devoted. At this point we are in prayer for guidance for Him to lead us to a community ministry so that when September comes, we are ready to bless the lives of the ladies in the Louisville area. So, what are we asking ladies? We are asking that you allow your heart to guide you to set aside a donation for this worthy cause. There will be a special offering collected during the conference and presented to the proper agency.

4 Page 4 Contract for Exhibit Space I (We) hereby agree to abide by the rules and regulations of the Midwest Women s Conference of the churches of Christ as set forth on this Contract; all of which is a part thereof, and request the following exhibit space (s) for my/our use. MWCCC reserves the right to make booth assignments in order to avoid conflict of displays or products. 1st Option: Vendor tables $50.00 each if you register for the Conference which is $ Please send conference registration form with vendor's form. Two dinners are included with Conference Registration. Total: $ for one table and Conference Registration 2 nd Option: Vendor tables $ each if you do not wish to register for the Conference but want to eat dinner (2) Friday and Saturday night, which is a total of $75.00 for the two meals. 5 Page 5 Contract for Exhibit Space Warranty of Authority Upon signing this acceptance, the following persons warrant that they fully understand the contents of this agreement and are duly authorized and appointed agents for the exhibit and are fully empowered to accept the provisions contained in this contract as a definite and binding commitment. Application should be filed promptly and must be accompanied with payment in full for each exhibit space requested. Refunds will not be made on contracts cancelled after August 15, Liability and Insurance The Exhibitor assumes the entire responsibility for losses, damages and claims arising out of injury or damages to Exhibitor s display, equipment and other property brought upon the premises of the Marriott Louisville East and shall indemnify and hold harmless The Midwest Women s Conference of the Churches of Christ and their agents from (including attorneys fees arising from) damages or bodily injury to Exhibitor. Security will not be provided. The Midwest Women s Conference of the Churches of Christ will not be responsible for any failures of electricity or service. Exhibitors wishing to insure their goods must do so at their own expense. City Fire Regulations must be observed. All decorations must be flame proof. Use of Space All demonstrations or other sale activity must be confined to the Exhibit Booth. Requirements for additional space should be made immediately. Note: Additional tables cost $50.00 each. 1. No exhibitor shall place a display in such a manner as to interfere with other exhibits. The standard booth equipment as furnished by the hotel will constitute a draped table and two chairs. 2. No firm, organization or individual not assigned booth space will be permitted to solicit business with the Exhibit Area. 3. Exhibits that include noise making equipment must secure approval of operating methods before exhibit opens. Electricity and phone line arrangements must be made through the Marriott Louisville East. 4. All exhibits can be set up as early as Friday morning. All exhibits must be closed during workshop and session times. Restrictions The Midwest Women s Conference of the Churches of Christ reserves the right to restrict exhibits during workshop or session hours. Vendors must close during these times. 6 Beverly J. Bush Educational Scholarship Page 6 The Beverly J. Bush Educational Scholarship is given in honor of our dear sister Beverly J. Bush, who was a faithful member at the Glass City Church of Christ in Toledo, OH, and was committed to educational success, in both the church and academia. This award is given to individuals who most exemplify the strength, courage and willingness necessary to excel in higher education. The Midwest Women s Conference of the churches of Christ scholarship committee is offering two $500 scholarships. The guidelines are as follows: Undergraduate College Student: Must be a member of the church of Christ If a first year college student, must have a minimum 2.5 GPA over the last 2 years of high school If a continuing college student, must have a minimum of 2.5 GPA over the past year Recipient must be enrolled full/part- time in an institution of higher learning at the time the scholarship is given; proof of current enrollment must be provided prior to monetary disbursement (an enrollment letter from the Registrar or an official transcript is recommended) All applicants must complete the application form, meet the criteria above, along with providing two references/ letters of recommendation (one reference from a teacher, counselor/advisor or employer and one from Church leadership which may include a letter from their spouse, i.e. minister s wife, elder s wife, deacon s wife). Please submit official transcript and proof of current enrollment. In addition, each applicant must submit a 500 word essay.
