3 THE FOOL - by Padraic Pearse Since the wise men have not soken, I seak that am only a ool; A ool that hath loved his olly, Yea, more than the wise men their books or their counting houses or their quiet homes, Or their ame in men s mouths; A ool that in all his days hath done never a rudent thing, Never hath counted the cost, nor recked i another reaed The ruit o his mighty sowing, content to scatter the seed; A ool that is unreentant, and that soon at the end o all Shall laugh in his lonely heart as the rie ears all to the reaing-hooks And the oor are illed that were ety, Tho he go hungry.
