1 JESUS CHRIST THE SAME YESTERDAY, TODAY, AND FOREVER E-1 ^down like showers coming into our hearts. Forgive us of our shortcomings. And God, as Elisha of old said, Dig ditches, to make way for the water. God, I pray that You ll let every heart in here dig out everything right now, all the unbelief, throw it out, say, I won t have nothing else to do with it. Thousands of others are being healed around the world, why not me? Thousands of others are being saved, and enjoy the blessings of God, why not me? And may they be saved and healed tonight, Lord. For we ask it, in Christ s Name, and for His glory. Amen. E-2 Excuse me for taking fifteen minutes of your other time. Billy, I don t believe^i believe tonight we was just going to call^well, let s call a prayer line. We^they didn t give out any prayer cards today. But what was, we give out last night? X s, wasn t it? X s? I think that s what it was. And we started, over, and taken from fifty, to sixty, or, seventy, somewhere, last night. Let s start a little prayer line. Cause after preaching like this, I d rather have the anointing of the Holy Spirit come down, for healing, before I get the line started. [Blank spot on tape_ed.] E-3 Dr. Cauble has one of the largest churches in Louisville, Kentucky; very prosperous man, there, in the Lord, a real Christian, borned again. And Dr. Cauble was to come to the meeting one time, he set around, and he seen the glory of God, and he s humblehearted. First time I ever had any contact with him, he d had an operation, was bleeding to death, out in the hospital, in Louisville. And some friends, McSpaddens, they may be here tonight, too, told me that he was over there, and was bleeding to death. Said, He s a fine minister, and said, he s not^he_he s interdenomination. He s just got a big church, there, trying to serve the Lord. E-4 I said, Well, that s wonderful. Said^I said, Dr. Cauble? Oh, I said, yeah, I heard his broadcast. I thought, Uh-oh. That Dr. to Cauble, kind of fooled me. So I thought, Now, maybe he d get over there, and he won t believe in no Divine healing; but they told me he was a nice man. E-5 So I went over, and when I went into the room, he was getting some of them priests and sisters converted, in there. And there stood

2 2 THE SPOKEN WORD missionaries standing all around, and all of them in there praying with him. So I slipped in behind a Coke machine out in the hall, and prayed for him. I went back. E-6 In a few minutes his wife (lovely woman) called up, and wanted to know why I didn t come over. E-7 Said, I was over there, but I just couldn t come in, there was so many preachers in there. E-8 So then, she wanted me to come back. And I thought, My. I walked over, and prayed for Brother Cauble, the Lord come down, stopped the blood, healed him. He went down to Jamaica. That s Brother Cauble, Dr. Cauble setting back there, in, from Louisville, Kentucky. E-9 Not long after that, he had a little girl. She was very sick. He followed along in the meeting, very humble. If he didn t get a prayer card, that was all right. And he just went along, kept going into the meetings. And one night, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, wasn t it, Dr. Cauble? Chattanooga. And we were talking together, and the little lady had come, and was setting on the bed, and there the Holy Spirit come down, and begin to unravel that girl s life, and spoke out just what the cause was, what was the matter, and what would happen. And God healed the girl, setting there, and is perfectly normal and well, to this day. E-10 I think Brother Cauble used to belong to Church of Christ. I m not sure, I think that was right, his people from out, around, in there. And now he s got the baptism of the Holy Ghost, and having a wonderful time. All right. [Blank spot on tape_ed.] E-11 One meeting to another. I ve never done this before, Dr. Cauble, in my life. Brother Baxter s gone from me. He s gone up into Boston, and they re making the Indian reservations, for going over there to India. And so, I m left here, there wasn t very many here, so we thought we^i could have it myself. So, I m just slaying and eating, having a good time. But I don t know about whether it ll^in the praying for the sick now, everyone, I ve told you, maybe, one of these nights, if the Lord goes to leading^[blank spot on tape_ed.] Want to try to get a group of ushers to stand here right in a row^[blank spot on tape.] ^only believe, All things are possible, only believe; Only^ E-12 Come, dear Lord Jesus, I pray that You ll help me now. Grant, Lord, that Your Spirit and mercy, over me. Send Your Angel, O

I m left here, just, to do the preaching and this together, and I pray that You ll help me, in Jesus Name. E-13 I wonder if you d do this with me. Would you raise your hand? And not, only believe ; now, I believe. Let s sing it this way: Right now, I believe. Now I believe, now I believe, All things are possible, now I believe; Now I believe, now I believe, All things are possible, now I believe. E-14 Father, now come near. May Your Spirit hang near us now, in mercy, for the sick and the needy. For I ve tried to preach what was the truth, in the conviction of my heart. And I pray now, that You ll send Your Angel, to vindicate that It s truth. Grant it, Lord, I pray, in Jesus Name. And now, Lord, as I go forward to challenge these enemies of human life, I pray that You ll go before me, and help me. In the Name of Thy Son, Jesus, I ask it. Amen. I just want to talk to you just a few moments because it s just like when our Master was here, now see, Jesus rose from the dead, did He? You believe that? You ought to, being a Christian, you ought, you believe that. Jesus rose from the dead. Then He s not dead. He s living, isn t He? And then He promised to be in His church and do the same things He did there, down until He come again. The Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ in the form of Spirit. You_you_you believe the Holy Spirit is Jesus Christ in the Spirit? A little while and the world seeth Me no more; yet you ll see Me, for I ll be with you, even in you, to the end of the world, see, the same yesterday, today, and forever. E-16 Now, I know nothing of you, but I m just trying to talk to you, in order to find your spirit, we being brother and sister in Christ. And I know nothing of you, and you know that s the truth; I don t know one thing about you, never seen you, in my life. E-17 But, I m trying to represent God s Bible to the people. And oh, how many times It s misused, but that s a cause of the day. Do you believe that? We re living in this day where they got to be that way. See. Ain t nothing we can do about it. But God will call a number of people. Don t you believe that? He will. He will. E-18 But now, the, ye shall see Me : the ye is the Church, the believer. Now, if you are a believer in Jesus Christ, then I can help you. If you re not, I couldn t.

4 4 THE SPOKEN WORD E-19 But, you are a believer; so then, being a believer^if you wasn t, I d know it; for God would tell it to me. I believe He would. He might not, but I believe He would. He s never failed me yet, and He would let me know. Well, then if you are a Christian and a believer^then, there s something wrong with you. E-20 Now you feel real odd and strange, but that s nothing in the world but the Angel of the Lord, moving in on this side. That s exactly what it is. It s coming to me now, see. Now, it s not to hurt you. It s to help you, to get you to believe in (What?) Jesus Christ; that s the only thing it can do. E-21 Now, you remember when our Master talked to a woman at the well at Samaria? He said, Bring Me a drink of water. And she went and got Him a drink, or, was going to get Him a drink. She seen He was a Jew and said, Why, You re a Jew. Why did You ask me, a Samaritan, such thing? Why, (she^he said^) it s not customary, she said. E-22 But, He said, If you knew Who you were talking to, you d ask Me for a drink. And He went ahead; and after while, He found where her trouble was. He went right straight to her trouble, and told her where it was. You remember what it was? What was it? [The sister answers_ed.] That s right. She had several husbands. She had five husbands; and He said the one she lived with then, wasn t her husband, so that made six. E-23 Why, she said, I perceive that You are a prophet. Now, she^he^she didn t say, Why, You re reading my mind. Said, Why, You re a prophet. She said, I know Messiah cometh, and He ll tell us all thing. E-24 He said, I am He, Who you re talking to. E-25 Why, she run in the city, said, Come, see a Man, Who told me everything I ever done. He didn t do that. He only told her one thing. But if God could tell Him one thing, He could tell Him everything. Do you believe that? Jesus said, He could do nothing, except the Father showed Him. E-26 Now, here s your trouble: It s something wrong in your back. It s a back condition, a spinal condition. Isn t that right? That s exactly right. That s been for some time, too. I ve seen you have it for a long time. You been examined by it many times, taken treatments, everything, nothing seems to do any good. Is that true?

5 JESUS CHRIST THE SAME YESTERDAY, TODAY, AND FOREVER 5 E-27 Say, that baby s got the s-^a spinal trouble, too, something wrong with its spine. And you ve had it operated on. Is that right? And they don t know what to say about the baby. It s undecided, yet. Isn t that right? E-28 Mother, with the fruit of your womb there, you heard that Voice talking? That was my voice, but it wasn t me speaking it. It was Something that told you about your life, and you know, whatever it was, it was the truth. Was it? If it was, say, Amen. [The sister says, Amen. _Ed.] It was. Now, He s_he s bound to be here, Something that knows you. Is that right? [The sister says, That s right. ] We d talk just a few minutes longer, It d tell you other things. E-29 You believe if I ll ask God to help you (and I believe it was the baby, too, is that right? You? Both of you?), you believe that He ll do it? [The sister says, I do. _Ed.] Come here. E-30 Merciful God, I come now, as Your servant, in a way of a Divine gift called prophecy, a prophet. I pray that You ll heal this woman and her baby. May they go off of this platform, tonight, and both of them get well, and be bothered no more. I ask this blessing, in the Name of the Lord Jesus. And now, Lord, as this poor little innocent baby, laying here, and has no way to have faith; then, Father, it s not left to the baby, but it s to us. And now, Father, help Thy servant to have faith; and as I go in this channel, to challenge this demon that s tormenting the baby, help, Lord. E-31 Now, thou demon, Satan, that s bound this child, I come in a challenge, a duel of faith. I believe that Jesus Christ rose from the dead. He died at Calvary, first, and took every power you had. And I stand as His representative, tonight, to say to you, you ve lost hold on this child. In the Name of Jesus Christ, come out of it, and leave it. E-32 I bless thee, my little friend, in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. [Blank spot on tape_ed]^?^ E-33 Believe that, well you watch the baby and see if it s not right. In My Name they shall cast out devils. That baby s too little to have faith. It has to have our faith. And I know with love to God, then in love, and faith accompanies love, and when those two meet together, something has to happen. And our Heavenly Father can t tell us a lie. He wouldn t write it in His Book, and let us have it. He said it was given to us. Now, you adults, you re old enough to have faith for yourself, but that baby can t. That s right. So it takes our own faith for the baby. E-34 All right, sister, look this way. Do you believe that the things that you see done come from God? You do. I believe that

6 6 THE SPOKEN WORD you re telling the truth. [The sister speaks to Bro. Branham_Ed.] Do you? How long have you loved the Lord? [The sister answers, Seven years. ] He gets sweeter all the time, doesn t He? [The sister continues speaking. Blank spot on tape.] All right. About six years, the Holy Ghost. E-35 Now, I was just talking to you for something, to see what was wrong. You re in a serious condition. You re up for an operation. And that caused, from something in your side, right^no it s in here. It s a gallbladder condition in the stomach. Isn t that right? [The sister says, That s what the doctor said. _Ed.] That s exactly right. And don t you have a^i see him putting something around your arm like that, that little fellow, it s a blood pressure, and it s low. Is that right? [The sister says, That s right. ] The blood pressure is low, and he can t operate nor nothing, on account of your weakness condition. Is that the truth? [The sister says, That s right. ] All right. Come here a minute. The God of Heaven will help you to be strong, sister. E-36 Almighty God, have mercy upon the woman, as I lay hands upon her in commemoration of my Lord s Word. He said, These signs shall follow them that believe; if they lay hands on the sick, they shall recover. I ask for her healing, in Jesus Christ s Name. Amen. E-37 God bless you. Just go, have faith now^[blank spot on tape_ed.] E-38 ^all your heart? All right. Are^You and I are strangers. [Blank spot on tape_ed.]^?^the Lord with all your heart? He s wonderful, isn t He? You believe me to be His prophet? With all your heart? E-39 Haven t you had some kind of a fall or something? You hurt yourself in your side, you ve, it s something in your ribs or something; you re having severe pains. Isn t that right? That s right, right under there. I see you, when you get up of a morning, you have to hold yourself like, way. Isn t that true? You was stepping off of a street the other day, or, something other, I see you catch yourself like that, cause it hurt you when you stepped off of a high curbing. Is that right? Now come here. E-40 Lord Jesus, I pray for mercy for the woman, and I ask for her to be healed. May this leave her, and may our sister get well, as I bless her, in the Name of Thy beloved Child, Jesus Christ. Amen. E-41 God bless you, sister. Now go, happy. You re going to get over it. It s all right. [Blank spot on tape_ed.]

Isn t that true? Put your hand on your throat now. E-43 Lord Jesus, I pray that You heal her, that choking spirit, hanging there, screaming and pulling. I pray that You ll heal her, and may the devil leave her, in Jesus Christ s Name. Amen. God bless you, sister. You accept your healing now? God bless you. Have faith. E-44 Come here, lady. I believe we are strangers, too, are we? We are. I do not know. You re just some lady that come up, out of the audience, there, picked up a prayer card. There s hundreds of people, setting there tonight, don t even have a prayer card. Her either, neither, but she_she s healed just the same, see. See, it don t take^the prayer card has nothing to do with your healing. It s your faith in God that does the healing. Just believe Him, and God will grant it. E-45 Now, if there s anything wrong with you, God will reveal it. And, of course, you re wearing glasses, I see that. Anyone sees that. There may be something else that s wrong with you, that_that^ E-46 No, you got a heart full of sorrow because death lingers near your door. A black spirit hangs near your door, and that s because of your husband. Is that right? The man s got something wrong in his head. I believe it s, the doctor said, it s a cancer in the brain. Is that right? And isn t he kind of disturbed about something? It s about his salvation. He isn t too sure about his condition. Is that right? Oh, may God have mercy. Come here. Give me that handkerchief. E-47 Lord God, from the body of Paul they took handkerchiefs and aprons, for they knowed that he was anointed with the Holy Ghost. Now we re not Saint Paul, but You re still the same God, and You re still the Holy Ghost. And I pray, God, for mercy for that man, especially for his soul, Lord, just at this time. I send this handkerchief by his wife, and I pray that he ll be healed, physically and spiritually, in Jesus Name. Amen. E-48 You ve been suffering with female trouble^?^(isn t that right?) yourself; you was healed, then, of that. That come up. That s gone from you. Now, go lay that on your husband. Let no one touch it. Put it in your pocketbook. And may God grant your healing, and bless you. E-49 People, you ought to believe. When the prophet, Moses, went down, he didn t have to go down and show his sign. God told him

8 8 THE SPOKEN WORD He d give him two signs to prove that He had sent him. That was, Divine healing, was one, and another one, was to perform a miracle. Is that right? E-50 The same Angel of the Lord (I don t say it was the same one), He told me, As the prophet Moses was given two signs, so will you. And here it is. You don t have to think about it, just quit trying to figure out, just believe, have all your heart set right into it. E-51 You re trying to believe, sister, honey, setting there. You are. Isn t that your mother setting next to you? I can tell you what s wrong with you, but I can t heal you. You re wondering about your prayer card; and about this, that and the other; and why you didn t get it; and everything, like. You don t need no prayer card, sister. You believe me to be His prophet? You was praying there. Yes, sir. You do. Well, that s fine. You have sinus trouble. Is that right? And your mother has arthritis. Isn t that true? Now you put your arm around mother, and mother, you put your arm around the daughter. E-52 Lord Jesus, I pray that You ll heal them both. They re setting there, praying, I seen the Angel of the Lord over them. May the sinus leave and may the arthritis come out of them, in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen. E-53 God bless you. Go on your roads happy now, and may the Lord be with you, and help you. E-54 All right. Be praying, having faith. All right. Bring the lady. E-55 How do you do, lady? Are we strangers? Yes, ma am. Never saw me before. All right. Do you believe that the things that you see done are of God? You do? You do. You have a stomach trouble, don t you? Yes, ma am. Yes, it s a^it s caused from a_an acid condition in the stomach. It s got ulcer in the^right in the bottom of the stomach, causes severe^ E-56 Here s another thing that s wrong with you: You need the Lord Jesus as personal Saviour. You re a sinner, haven t accepted Christ. But, you want to accept Him, now, as your Saviour? You do. You do. God bless you. Your sins are forgiven, your stomach is healed. E-57 Say, isn t this woman here some connection with you? It s your sister, isn t it? Look here, lady. That s right. I thought I felt, you are a Christian. That s right. And you have something wrong in your chest, an asthmatic condition. Take your sister, both spiritually and physically, walk off the platform; your sins are forgiven; you re healed. God bless you. Walk with her, and do the same thing; the Lord be with both of you. Amen. There.

You re having an awful trouble with your nerves, aren t you? You want to accept Christ as your Healer and be healed? That s followed you a long time, hasn t it, Dad? God will make you well, if you ll believe it. Is that right? E-60 Lord Jesus, bless the man who I bless in Thy Name, in Jesus Christ s Name. Amen. E-61 God bless you, brother. Go rejoicing. Get your mind set up there, and believe now. Believe with all your heart, God will bring it to pass. E-62 Are you believing? E-63 Come, lady. Oh, how lovely. Isn t He sweet? You want to get over that diabetes? You want to accept Jesus now as your Healer? Raise up your hand, say, I accept You, Lord Jesus, as my Healer, for this diabetes. God bless you. Go, now, and as you have believed, so be it unto you. E-64 Come, lady. Do you want to get over that heart trouble? All right, go right on, and believe it now, and you ll get over, and be well. E-65 Are you having faith? Believe. All things are possible to them that believe. All right. Come believing. E-66 You want to get over kidney trouble? Be made well? You accept your healing now? All right. Go on your road, rejoicing. God bless you, make you well. E-67 Come, little lad. What a fine little boy. You love the Lord Jesus, sonny? You go to Sunday school? I want to ask you something, sonny. What if_if tonight, you standing up here on the platform, what if you would^if Jesus was standing here, having on my suit? Now, as far as healing you, He s already did that, when He died at Calvary, see. But He would know what was wrong with you, wouldn t He? And He would tell you what was wrong with you, and He d lay His precious, sinless, nail-scarred hands on you, and you d get well. Wouldn t you? But now, do you believe? E-68 My hands are unworthy to represent His, but whose would be worthy? That s all. That s right. But now, if He is in this form of the Holy Spirit, here tonight, working through the church in a channel of Spirit, then He^you believe He sent me to take His place, to pray for the sick people? You believe that?

10 10 THE SPOKEN WORD You suffer with your stomach, don t you, honey? It s stomach trouble. You re nervous. Your mother is nervous, too; both of you re nervous. It come: you inherited it, sweetheart. But come here, you re going to be made well. E-69 Lord God, have mercy on this little, tender-hearted child standing here, the tears drop down in his eyes, little child-like faith. E-70 Satan, leave the child. Come out of him, in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I adjure thee, by His stripes this boy is healed. Now leave him. E-71 I bless thee, my little brother, in the Name of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, that you go now, and get well. You tell the children around school, when they can see you eating and enjoying it again, tell them what Jesus has done for you. The Lord bless you. Amen. E-72 Let s say, Thanks be to God. E-73 All right. Come, lady. You want to get over that female trouble? It s almost to an^well it is an abscess, but it could run to cancer. But if you want to accept Christ as your Healer now, He ll heal you right here. You believe that? E-74 Lord Jesus, I pray for the woman s faith that it won t fail now, as she s accept You. You prayed for Peter, one night, You said, Peter, Satan has desired to sift you: but I prayed, that your faith fails not. Not his morals, his morals did fail; but his faith didn t fail. Now, Lord, I pray that her faith will not fail through this test of faith, and may she be healed, in Jesus Name, I ask it. Amen. E-75 Now, go rejoicing, mother, as that you never did have it, and go on. E-76 And thanks be to God, that give us the victory. E-77 Let s say, Praise be to God. How wonderful. All right, lady. Stand up. Your prayers has been answered. God has healed you. Amen. It was right, straight in line with that young lady. I could see it break there, and it went away from me, and I wondered what it was. All right. You re healed now. You can go home and be well. God bless you. E-78 Let s say, Thanks be to God. E-79 This your last patient? All right. Come, lady. You believe the Lord Jesus will make you well? You believe if I just ask God, and lay hands on you, He^you d get well?

May the Spirit of God come to her, and heal her and bless her and send her home, a well person, in Jesus Christ s Name, I ask it. Amen. E-81 God bless you, sister. Go rejoicing and happy now, and blessing God. E-82 I m getting so weak, I can hardly stand here. You might not understand. Looks like, looking out over the audience, the whole thing s becomes milky-like all over the audience, everywhere. I just can t hardly see back to the back anymore. You realize, that, that s just pulling the life right from me. E-83 Young man, I know what s the matter with you. I can t heal you, but I know what s wrong. It s epilepsy. But God is the only One can heal you. Do you accept your healing now? Is that the truth? Is it epilepsy? All right. Stand up on your feet and say, I accept my healing. It s a devil. That s right. God bless you, young man. Go, and be made well. God bless you. All right. E-84 Come, sir. Do you believe with all your heart? If I be God s prophet, you couldn t hide your life from me. If the anointing of God is upon me, then that s true. If you d try to stand there any other way, something might happen to you. You know that s true, right at this time. E-85 [Blank spot on tape_ed.] ^be healed? All right, stand up and receive your healing. I thought it left from that boy, and went towards you. I couldn t tell, it was over the boy again, but it s over you. All right. God bless you, now. Go, and be made well. E-86 Sir, do you believe me to be His servant? You have a_a rupture. Is that right? You believe God is going to make you well? Now, it s your faith that heals you. I m only^i^this is only a Divine gift, to point you to Calvary. Is that right? Say, I see something materializing before me by your side. It s a_it s a woman. It s your wife. She s sick, too: blood pressure, high blood pressure. Is that right? Go home, you re both going to get well, I believe. E-87 In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, may it be. E-88 Do you believe? Do you believe He s here? Then, listen to me. Listen to me, a minute: If God is proving that I m telling you the truth, don t doubt anymore. [Blank spot on tape_ed.]^?^ E-89 It s_it s a^some^right in there, there s a thyroid gland. Setting right there. It s right there. Yes, it is. I see it. That s right. Raise up. I knowed the Angel of God was over that woman, a few minutes ago, there. All right. Now you can go home, and get well.

12 12 THE SPOKEN WORD E-90 The rest of you, do you want to believe at this time? Sovereign grace. He went back the second time to her, so that she could be healed. God is here to heal every one of you, if you ll believe it. Do you accept it? Then stand to your feet. If there is a cripple anywhere in the building, throw away your crutches. If there s a blind person, pull back the scales. If there s a lame man, shake your feet up and down. Give God praise. In the Name of Jesus Christ, get healed. [Blank spot on tape_ed.]^?^ E-91 And God has now done it for His glory. Let s say, Praise the Lord, everywhere. E-92 Now, I want someone, now, who will believe with all their heart, all their soul, all their mind, to say, Lord Jesus, I now believe that You ve healed me. I want to know if you believe it. Why, friends, the Holy Spirit is here; can do anything, and all things, and^ E-93 I wanted to finish out my prayer line here, if you ll stand, just a minute. I called these people here, and I_I want to see them healed. E-94 I want to see^there was somebody healed in this section, a while ago, here, a_a baby or something. I_I could see It circling around. I thought maybe someone might be able to see the Angel of the Lord in Its form, like that. Oh, how marvelous, how God did it in that way and just look at the^just to let you know. E-95 I ll tell you, some people think that it was mental telepathy. God has did this for a purpose. You see, it s not mental telepathy. How could I see people out there? You see? That proves it to you. It s the power of God. E-96 Where was the little girl, was healed? Right in here. There s a little child. I kept seeing It, come two times, and went back again.
