1 ARIZONA SOCIETY SONS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION BARRY M. GOLDWATER CHAPTER NEWSLETTER September 2010 BMG summer barbeque and potluck The August 14 th summer BMG social, which took place at the home of chapter president John Conrad and his wife Paula Vessels, was a great success. John and Paula went out of their way to ensure that everyone present had a very nice time and we did. John pointing out Rob s dexterity and skill as he turns over his steak with one hand! Outdoor grilling will never be the same. Thanks John and Paula! OK, smile! New BMG Chapter compatriots William E. Reisinger M.D. had his membership in the NSSAR recently approved and is now a member of our Chapter. His ancestor is: Johann Peter Reisinger, Pennsylvania York Co. Militia. Edward Karr, former Colorado State Society president recently moved to Arizona and now has dual membership with the BMG Chapter. WELCOME TO OUR CHAPTER! Enough with the pictures bring out the food!

4 OK, now it is your turn to send in your Revolutionary War ancestor biographies. Please send your one double sided page or less to the newsletter editor act now, operators are standing by! Past Chapter Presidents Robert H. Bohannan H. Robert Young Carlton V. Phillips 2009 Distracted drivers As you all know, there is a movement afoot both nationally and locally, to ban driving while distracted. We have all come across some idiot on a cell phone and here is a classic example of why this should be unlawful and enforced! Driving in on the Loop 202 this morning, I looked over to my left and there was a woman in a brand new Mustang doing 65 miles per hour with her face up next to the rear view mirror putting on her eyeliner! I looked away for a couple of seconds and when I looked back she was half way over in my lane, still working on that dang make up!! It scared me so bad that I dropped my electric shaver, which knocked the donut out of my other hand. In all the confusion I was trying to straighten out the car using my knees against the steering wheel, and dropped my cell phone away from my ear, which fell into the coffee between my legs and DISCONNECTED AN IMPORTANT CALL!!!
