5 CRUCIFIXION 27: Given wine mixed w/gall, not drink it abused by robbers, passerbys & chief priests : Dressed Him in purple as opposed to scarlet - Crucified at 9 am (6 hours total) 23:27- - Jesus tells women not to weep for Him but for their children - Jesus asks God to forgive them, they casts lots for clothes - One thief rebukes the other thief and asks Jesus to remember him when He comes into His kingdom - Jesus tells him, he will be with Him in paradise today - Darkness from noon until 3 - After He dies, crowds leave beating their breasts 19: Purple robe, thorns, mock, slap - Jesus brought before crowd with crown and robe, Jewish leaders shout to crucify - Pilate fearful that He is the Son of God - Jews threaten that Pilate is no friend of Caesars, that s when Pilate caves - At 6 am Pilate tells Jews, Behold your King! - They cry out for Him to be crucified, chief priests say, We have no king but Caesar. - Sign written in Hebrew, Latin, & Greek - Lots for seamless garment in fulfillment of Scripture Salome, many women CRIES FROM THE CROSS 27:46 - Eli, Eli, Lama Sabachthani? - My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me? 27:50 cries w/loud voice & gives up His spirit 23:34 Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing. 23:43 Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise. 23:46 Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit. & dies 19:26-27 Woman, behold, your son! - Behold, our mother John takes Mary to his home from then on 19:17 I am thirsty 19:30 It is finished! 5
