1 SABBATH Part Two: SATURDAY or SUNDAY,DAYS, MONTHS, FALLEN ANGELS Last week we talked about how we came to have our current calendar and how the new month was determined by the new moons. We talked about how God called the months as follows: 1 st month, 2 nd month, 3 rd month and so on. God called the days of the month as follows: 1 st day of the month, 2 nd day of the month, 3 rd day of the month and so on. In the NT we see 1 st day of the week. The weekly Sabbath was always on the 7 th day. Let s take a look at our current calendar week. WEEK Did you know the days of the week are named after fallen angels and nephilim? Page 1 of 10

Saturn/Saturday The designation of the seven days of the week to the seven planets is an innovation introduced in the time of Augustus. *This is before Constantine.* The astrological concept of planetary hours is rather an original innovation of Hellenistic astrology, probably first conceived in the 2nd century BC. *This was not an innovation, pagans have always worshipped fallen angels and nephilim. They are associated with the planets and thus our planets are named for them.* For those that are arguing about which day we should worship on, is any one of these any better than another? They are all abomination to God. Those that were angels don t reside in heaven any more. They rank the same in His eyes it is all sin. We should have never named our days like this. Page 2 of 10

3 The occult makes a 7 point star out of the days of the week. It is called an elven or faerie star and that boils down to demons and magic. All against God. For a while, the week and the nundinal cycle (ancient Roman calendar) coexisted, but by the time the week was officially adopted by Constantine in AD 321, the nundinal cycle had fallen out of use. The association of the days of the week with the Sun, the Moon and the five planets visible to the naked eye dates to the Roman era (2nd century). The weekend is that period of the week set aside by custom or law for rest from labor. In many countries it is Saturday and Sunday and often includes Friday night. This five-day workweek arose in America when labor unions attempted to accommodate Jewish Sabbath, beginning at a New England cotton mill and also instituted by Henry Ford in 1926; it became standard in America by about 1940 and spread among English-speaking and European countries to become the international workweek. China adopted it in 1995 and Hong Kong by India and some other countries follow both the international workweek and a more traditional Saturday half-workday and Sunday weekend. While Indonesia and Lebanon have the international workweek, most Muslim countries count Friday as the weekend, alone or with Thursday (all or half) or Saturday. Some universities permit a three-day weekend from Friday to Sunday. The weekend in Israel, Nepal, and parts of Malaysia, is Friday (all or half) and Page 3 of 10

4 Saturday. Only the one-day customary or legal weekends are usually called "Sabbath". Our months of the year are just as bad, named after fallen angels, nephilim and military leaders, Caesar and Augustus. The year used to begin in March and used to be only 10 months long according to an ancient Roman calendar. That is why September whose root is septum meaning 7 is actually the ninth month. 5 October s root is octo meaning 8 and it is now the tenth month. November s root is novem meaning 9 and it is now the 11 th month. December s root is deci meaning 10 and it is now the 12 th month. *Interesting to note that X is for sun worship and the month in which the sun god s birthday is celebrated is a roman numeral X.* WHAT WAS REQUIRED ON THE SABBATH Exodus 23:12 Six days thou shalt do thy work, and on the seventh day thou shalt rest: that thine ox and thine ass may rest, and the son of thy handmaid, and the stranger, may be refreshed. Exodus 34:21 Six days thou shalt work, but on the seventh day thou shalt rest: in earing time (plowing) and in harvest thou shalt rest. Exodus 35:1-3 - And Moses gathered all the congregation of the children of Israel together, and said unto them, These are the words which the LORD hath commanded, that ye should do them. Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to the LORD: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death. Ye shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations upon the sabbath day. Page 5 of 10

6 *One commentary believes this no fire kindling was only during the time the tabernacle was being built and furnished. But out Bibles do not say anything in regards to a certain time period on that restriction. They used fire to melt metals to mold and shape them and make instruments and things for the temple as well as their daily lives, to cook with and for warmth. It was a job gathering sticks and kindle for a fire, rubbing sticks together or spinning a stick between your palms on another piece of wood to make a spark so that you could kindle it and make a fire.* They were to prepare for the Sabbath on the day before. Getting everything in order so that nothing would hinder them from their rest. In the New Testament the day before a Sabbath is called the preparation day. (Mark 15:42) Numbers 15:32-36 And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the sabbath day. And they that found him gathering sticks brought him unto Moses and Aaron, and unto all the congregation. And they put him in ward (prison), because it was not declared what should be done to him. And the LORD said unto Moses, The man shall be surely put to death: all the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp. And all the congregation brought him without the camp, and stoned him with stones, and he died; as the LORD commanded Moses. Page 6 of 10

7 It was a major thing to be found breaking God s rules of keeping the Sabbath. SABBATH GIVEN TO ISRAEL Exodus 31: And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily My sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I Am the LORD that doth sanctify you. Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people. Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death. Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant. It is a sign between Me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day He rested, and was refreshed. And He gave unto Moses, when He had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables (M.E. tablets) of testimony, tables (M.E. tablets) of stone, written with the finger of God. Lev.23:1-3 - And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations (meetings, assemblies, gatherings), even these are My feasts. Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings. *Even though God now calls it a holy convocation (meeting, assembly, gathering) He still states in all your dwellilngs. 8 Feast of Trumpets is a Sabbath. (Lev.23:24) Day of Atonement was a Sabbath of rest and affliction (fasting) (Lev. 23:27-32) Feast of Tabernacles begins with a Sabbath and ends with a Sabbath. (Lev. 23:34-43) *These feast days were given to the Israelites.* Lev.23:42-44 Ye shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are Israelites born shall dwell in booths: That your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I Am the LORD your God. And Moses declared unto the children of Israel the feasts of the LORD. Numbers15:40-41 That ye may remember, and do all My commandments, and be holy unto your God. I Am the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I Am the LORD your God. Deuteronomy 5: Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee. Six days thou shalt labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou. And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the LORD thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the LORD thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day. Not only did God rest the seventh day, but now He shows them another meaning of the Sabbath day. To remember that He brought them out of bondage to Egypt and to have mercy on those that were now serving them (their servants). Isaiah 58:13-14 If thou turn away thy foot from the Sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on My holy day; and call the Sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honorable; and shalt honor Him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it. 9 PUNISHED FOR NOT LETTING THE LAND REST IN ITS SABBATHS Jeremiah 17 Jeremiah prophesied that if they would not obey and keep the LORD s Sabbath then He (the LORD) would burn down their city. This came to pass in Jeremiah 39:8. II Chron.36:21 To fulfill the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her Sabbaths: for as long as she lay desolate she kept Sabbath, to fulfill threescore and ten years (70 years). Even the land was to be given rest. LAND TO KEEP A SABBATH YEAR Every 7 years the land was to be allowed to rest, no sewing or reaping was to take place. God would give the increase to sustain them while the land rested. Then they were also to count a total of 7 land Sabbaths until they got to the 7 th year of land Sabbaths, so that the 50 th year would be a Jubilee year and it was hallowed unto the LORD. Lev.25:20-22 And if ye shall say, What shall we eat the seventh year? Behold, we shall not sow, nor gather in our increase: Then I will command My blessing upon you in the sixth year, and it shall bring forth fruit for three years. And ye shall sow the eighth year, and eat yet of old fruit until the ninth year; until her fruits come in ye shall eat of the old store. God wanted to bless and provide for them and show them His love. How amazing that He gave the increase in the sixth year to last and carry them through 3 years until their harvest came in again. He truly is the LORD our Provider! That was a miracle and He did it for them continually until they quit obeying Him. CLOSING PRAYER Page 9 of 10
