1 2018 SAMPLE High School Bible Drill I. BOOK DRILL We will now have the BOOK DRILL. I will give the name of a book in the Bible and you will find the book. Place your index finger on any verse in the book named. When called upon, you will give the book before the one named, the book named, and the book that follows. 2 II. SCRIPTURE SEARCHING DRILL Attention: We will now have the SCRIPTURE SEARCHING DRILL. I will quote a reference to be found. You must locate the Scripture reference and place your index finger on the verse. Be prepared to read the verse and state the reference. Attention Present Bibles ( scripture reference ) - Start Exodus 15:2 The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt him. 4 III. STEPS TO SALVATION DRILL Attention: We will now have the STEPS TO SALVATION CALL. All six verses will be called out in the order listed. I will quote the Scripture reference of a verse in the order listed. You must locate the verse and place your index finger on the verse before stepping forward. I will instruct all drillers to close Bibles. Be prepared to recite the verse and state the Scripture reference. 6 IV. WHAT WE BELIEVE DRILL Attention: We will now have the WHAT WE BELIEVE DRILL. I will ask you a question. You will locate the verse that answers that question, place your finger on that verse, step forward and be prepared to quote the question and the verse from memory and give the reference. I will instruct all of you to show your Bible then close your Bibles before I call on one of you to recite. Attention Present Bibles - ( What does the Bible say about the one, true God?) Start What does the Bible say about the one, true God? But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation. 9 V. KEY BIBLICAL PASSAGE DRILL Attention: The last drill will be the KEY BIBLICAL PASSAGE DRILL. I will call a title of a Key Biblical Passage. You will locate the verses listed for the passage called and place your index finger on any verse in the passage before stepping forward. When time is called, I will instruct you to close Bibles. When called upon, you must be able to state the title of the Key Biblical Passage and the reference. After stating the passage and reference, you will recite the entire verse. Attention Present Bibles - (A Shepherd s Psalm) Start A Shepherd s Psalm: Psalm 23 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
