1 Ephesians 6:10-17 (vv 10-13) Finally, grow powerful in union with the Lord, in union with his mighty strength! Use all the armor and weaponry that God provides, so that you will be able to stand against the deceptive tactics of the Adversary. For we are not struggling against human beings, but against the rulers, authorities and cosmic powers governing this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realm. So take up every piece of war equipment God provides; so that when the evil day comes, you will be able to resist; and when the battle is won, you will still be standing. 8 Sword Makh-ay A fight or combat Luke 4:1-13 (vv 1-6) Then Yeshua, filled with the Ruach HaKodesh, returned from the Yarden and was led by the Spirit in the wilderness for forty days of testing by the Adversary. During that time he ate nothing, and afterwards he was hungry. The Adversary said to him, If you are the Son of God, order this stone to become bread. Yeshua answered him, The Tanakh says, Man does not live on bread alone. The Adversary took him up, showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world, and said to him, I will give you all this power and glory. It has been handed over to me, and I can give it to whomever I choose. Luke 4:1-13 (vv 7-13) So if you will worship me, it will all be yours. Yeshua answered him, The Tanakh says, Worship ADONAI your God and serve him only. Then he took him to Yerushalayim, set him on the highest point of the Temple and said to him, If you are the Son of God, jump from here! For the Tanakh says, He will order his angels to be responsible for you and to protect you. They will support you with their hands, so that you will not hurt your feet on the stones. Yeshua answered him, It also says, Do not put ADONAI your God to the test. When the Adversary had ended all his testings, he let him alone until an opportune time. 9 Proverbs 18:21 The tongue has power over life and death; those who indulge it must eat its fruit. Psalms 25:16-17, 20; Psalm 94:19; 1 Corinthinans 2:16; 2 Corinthians 10:5b; Philippians 4:7; 2 Timothy 1:7 Turn to me, and show me your favor; for I am alone and oppressed. The troubles of my heart are growing and growing; bring me out of my distress. Protect me and rescue me; don't let me be disgraced, for I take refuge in you. When my cares within me are many, your comforts cheer me up. For who has known the mind of ADONAI? Who will counsel him? But I have the mind of the Messiah! I take every thought captive and make it obey the Messiah. Then God s shalom, passing all understanding, will keep my heart and mind safe in union with the Messiah Yeshua. For God gave me a Spirit who produces not timidity, but power, love and self-discipline. Psalm 6:2; Jeremiah 17:14; Psalm 107:20; Psalm 103:3 Be gracious to me, ADONAI, because I am withering away; heal me, ADONAI, because my bones are shaking; Heal me, ADONAI, and I will be healed; save me, and I will be saved, for you are my praise. 10 Ephesians 6:18 as you pray at all times, with all kinds of prayers and requests, in the Spirit, vigilantly and persistently, for all God s people. Isaiah 40:28-31 (CJB) Haven t you known, haven t you heard that the everlasting God, ADONAI, the Creator of the ends of the earth, does not grow tired or weary? His understanding cannot be fathomed. He invigorates the exhausted, he gives strength to the powerless. Young men may grow tired and weary, even the fittest may stumble and fall; but those who hope in ADONAI will renew their strength, they will soar aloft as with eagles wings; when they are running they won t grow weary, when they are walking they won t get tired. Isaiah 40:28-31 (MSG) Don t you know anything? Haven't you been listening? God doesn t come and go. God lasts. He s Creator of all you can see or imagine. He doesn't get tired out, doesn t pause to catch his breath. And he knows everything, inside and out. He energizes those who get tired, gives fresh strength to dropouts. For even young people tire and drop out, young folk in their prime stumble and fall. But those who wait upon God get fresh strength. They spread their wings and soar like eagles. 13 Colossians 2:14-15 He wiped away the bill of charges against us. Because of the regulations, it stood as a testimony against us; but he removed it by nailing it to the execution-stake. Stripping the rulers and authorities of their power, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by means of the stake. 1 John 1:8-2:2 If we claim not to have sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we acknowledge our sins, then, since he is trustworthy and just, he will forgive them and purify us from all wrongdoing. If we claim we have not been sinning, we are making him out to be a liar, and his Word is not in us. My children, I am writing you these things so that you won't sin. But if anyone does sin, we have Yeshua the Messiah, the Tzaddik, who pleads our cause with the Father. Also, he is the kapparah for our sins - and not only for ours, but also for those of the whole world. Romans 8:35-37, 39 Who will separate us from the love of the Messiah? Trouble? Hardship? Persecution? Hunger? Poverty? Danger? War? As the Tanakh puts it, For your sake we are being put to death all day long, we are considered sheep to be slaughtered. No, in all these things we are superconquerors, through the one who has loved us. neither powers above nor powers below, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God which comes to us through the Messiah Yeshua, our Lord.
