1 DIRECTIONS Sticker Study was made for the hands on learners and for children with a high visual interest. These children thrive with being able to manipulate something in their hands and their brains are much quicker to retain information if linked with an image. This project was made with those students in mind. Here are some basic instructions and ideas on how to use this product. As with all of our products at Fortunately For You Books, adapt this to meet your child s needs. 1. Print only the graphic pages onto sticker sheets. You can buy 8 1/2 x 11 sticker pages. All you need to do is print the page needed using the whole sticker sheet. Cutting the boxes all at once or as needed will depend on what the child can handle. Sometimes piles of little stuff can stress a child out, sometimes looking at a whole sheet will do the same thing. Kids are peculiar. Avery makes an 8 1/2x11 sticker sheet. While the stickers make it quicker and nicer, it is just as easy to print on paper and cut and paste the boxes onto their correct answers. You can find these at any store that carries Avery products. 2. Letters and graphics are joined together to fit as many graphics as possible on a sticker sheet. To answer each question or complete statements, the graphics are to be attached to the letter page. 3. The boxes at the top right of each page take words that start with the letter presented on that page. The student is to find the word from the poetry part of the story and write the word above the correct meaning. When there weren t enough words to be found in the poetry/picture page that begin with the highlighted letter, vocabulary words were taken from the text in the side boxes. The words taken from the side texts rather than the poem will NOT ALWAYS start with the letter for the page. You will be able to easily identify which words came from the poem by the AS- TERISK sign (*) next to the word. These words will also begin with the letter highlighted on that page. It may be easier for the younger children to do only the words with an asterisk. Remember that all of this work can be done audibly by the student if needed. I have personally used the graphic s sheet like a Bingo game on busy days. I would read the question or statement, and my son would put a marker on the correct answers. 4. All answers are found in the answer key in the back. All questions or statements are given in order as presented in the book. When a question has multiple answers, it is recommended that the student refer back to the text and answer according to the order given by the author. This uses a referencing skill that will be needed in the older grades.
