4 David and Goliath Ac vity: Brave All Day Materials: none Say This: Today we heard how God helped David be brave. God can help you and me be brave, too! When God made you, he made you able to do so many things! You can run, jump, clap, sing, and God made you able to be brave. Even when you feel scared, you can ask God to help you, because he loves you and will always listen to you. We re going to try a few of those things God made you to do now! When I say a word, do it with me! Do This: Say different ac on words, and do the ac ons with the Kid Os. Some examples: Jump, duck, swim, sing, dance, turn around, clap, stomp, laugh. Feel free to repeat ac ons. What s the point? This ac vity will encourage the growth of Kid Os cogni ve, listening, and gross motor skills, while building the founda on of knowing that God made them with a purpose.

6 Esther Ac vity: Follow the Leader Materials: None Say This: Being faithful means doing what God wants us to do. Esther was faithful when God wanted her to help her people, and you and I can be faithful too! We can do what our grown ups ask us to, and when we make a promise, we can keep it. That s what being faithful is about! To be faithful, we follow God, but for this game, you ll follow me! We re going to walk around the room, but you have to watch closely, because you should walk the same way I do! If I jump, you jump, if I crawl, you crawl! Do This: Walk around the room, changing the way you are moving. Crawl, walk, or hop, and weave your way around the room. Encourage Kid Os to follow you, and do what you are doing. If they don t get it exactly right, don t worry about it too much. What s the point? This ac vity will grow the Kid Os gross motor skills, focus, concentra on, and help them prac ce following others.

8 The Lions Den Ac vity: Lion Kids! Materials: None Say This: Today we heard about Daniel. When he went into the lions den, God protected him! Let s pretend we re lions! Follow my direc ons. Do This: Gather Kid Os into a circle. Give the following instruc ons, and feel free to make up some of your own! Play as long as a en on spans last. Lions, roar! Lions, stand up tall. Lions, scrunch down as small as you can. Lions, walk in a circle. Lions, stretch out long. Lions, roar again! Lions, go to sleep. What s the point? This ac vity will be a fun way for Kid Os to get their wiggles out, prac ce following direc ons, and build the Kid Os gross motor and listening skills.

10 Daniel Ac vity: Wherever I Am Materials: None Say This: God was with Daniel, even when he was in a dark and scary place! He was put under the ground, but did you know, God could s ll hear Daniel when he prayed. God cared about Daniel, and he cares about you, too! Whenever you talk to God, he can hear you. You can tell Him anything, and He loves to hear your voice. For this game, I m going to have you close your eyes, while I make some noises! Try to guess what I m doing, without opening your eyes! Do This: Have Kid Os close their eyes. Make different noises throughout the room. Let them guess what you are doing. What s the point? This ac vity will develop kids auditory recogni on and focus as they try to think of what objects make different sounds. They will be reminded that wherever they are, God can hear them when they pray!

He is so strong and powerful, there s nothing too big for God to handle! God is in control of this whole world, everything big and small! Wherever we go, and whatever is happening, God s in control. For this game, I m going to give you something to find, and you have to go and touch it! Listen carefully! Look for Something: Purple Blue Yellow Big Heavy Small So Smooth Orange Smelly Pink Red Green What s the point? This ac vity will strengthen kids listening and recogni on abili es, help them think cri cally and make choices, and help them start thinking about what it means that God is in charge of everything.

14 Jonah Ac vity: Pass It On Materials: Ball Say This: God made Jonah to be obedient. When God said to do something, Jonah should have done it right away. God tells us about all kinds of good things we can do in the Bible! In this game, we re going to be passing this ball, but you have to follow my instruc ons, because I might make the ball switch direc ons! Do This: Have Kid Os sit in a circle. Give one of them a ball. Have them pass it around the circle, and tell them to pass it the other way every so o en. Con nue as long as kids a en on spans last. What s the point? This ac vity will develop kids gross motor skills, and help kids prac ce following instruc ons, giving to others, and wai ng their turn as other kids pass the ball.

16 Joseph Ac vity: Colored Coat Materials: Joseph Coloring Pages, Crayons Say This: Joseph went through a lot of tough stuff! Even when bad things happened, God s ll had a plan for him. When Joseph had the chance to see his brothers again, he forgave them, even though they had been mean to him. Joseph knew that God made us to be forgiving. You can forgive others too, Kid Os! If someone says I m sorry, you can say I forgive you! Joseph s story started with a special coat. Many people think it had a lot of colors on it. That sounds like a fun picture for us to color! Each of you will get a picture of Joseph s story, and get to color it! Do This: Give a Joseph coloring page to each Kid O. Talk with them as the color. What s the point? This ac vity will help kids remember and think about the Bible story, strengthen their gross motor skills, and develop their ability to share and work with others as they share crayons.
