STUDY GUIDE FOR 111 Living Guilt Free 1. is something we all face 2. Explosive emotions, health problems, and spiritual can all be caused by a sense of guilt. The majority of health problems come from unconfessed, unforsaken sin. Guilt is one big cause of these health problems. This is not to say that the health problems are all in someone s head. They are real, physical issues but often they were not caused by a break down in the body. Rather, the very real break down in the body is caused by spiritual issues. Our bodies cannot handle things like guilt, worry, bitterness, etc. Either we will confess and get rid of sin or sin will destroy us physically, mentally, and spiritually. If the root cause of an illness is spiritual, then all the medicines in the world will only relieve the symptoms not cure the problem. Even if a specific illness is cured, the body will only breaking out in something else later if the root cause is not dwelt with. This is not to say that all sickness is caused by sin directly. There are other reasons as well, but the majority of our current sicknesses are sin related. The only permanent answer - and the place where we should start - is repentance before Christ. 3. So where do we start in our quest to genuinely rid ourselves of life-destroying guilt? 4. Only in can we be free from guilt. 5. We feel guilty because we are We are born with guilt before God because of Adam's rebellion - called sin. All sickness is indirectly caused by sin. It is part of the result of the Fall. Not all sickness is the result of personal sin [John 9:2-3]. God can use sickness to His glory. We are not to bring condemnation into the lives of those suffering from sickness, but we are to examine our own hearts when sickness comes to see if the cause is there.
7. For the act that we did, we stand guilty before God. 8. For the specific act that we did, we stand guilty before the person we. 9. For the specific act that we did, we stand guilty before all the people who were by our act. 10. When rebelled against God, we all became guilty of rebellion. 11. Just as Adam represented us and brought us all into sin and guilt, so represents those who believe in Him, and brings us into right living and freedom from guilt. 12. Without a right relationship to God through Jesus Christ, we cannot deal with guilt on any level. Getting into a right relationship with Jesus Christ is the beginning of everything! It really is being born again. It is then we can begin to get our life on track in every area of life. Unfortunately, many Christians look at salvation from sin as the end and not the beginning. 13. We start with the fact that we guilty because we have done something wrong which has hurt someone. If someone is using guilt as a manipulative device they need to be strongly rebuked and their victim set free offense is first an offense against God before it is an offense against those who were hurt or affected by it. 15. Any offense [sin] is a violation of God's rights in His. 16. It doesn't matter how great or small the offense was, must come from God first. 17. Any disobedience from the revealed will of God in the Word of God is an act of against the King of
3 kings and the Lord of lords. 18. The good news is that Jesus Christ made on our behalf and for every offense big or small, past, present, or future. 19. When we, as Christians, sin and need forgiveness from God, how do we get it? 20. What happens when we ask God for His forgiveness? 21. Feelings of guilt and condemnation are a of Satan to hinder or ruin our relationship with God after we have asked for forgiveness. 22. After receiving forgiveness, we are no longer before God and we do not live with shame. Satan will try any trick to keep us from our relationship with Jesus. If he can keep us in shame and guilt, he can destroy our relationship just as effectively as with sin itself. If fact, the shame and guilt - after we have asked for forgiveness - may be the real temptation of which the specific sin was only the introduction. But we are not ignorant of his devices or the power of the Blood of Christ. 23. The Blood of Jesus Christ is more powerful than an sin or addiction. 24. For the Christian, there is no reason to. 25. God has called and empowered us to be. 26. We cannot afford to be with any sin in our lives. 27. If we are habouring unforgiveness against others, we cannot really ask God for. We cannot get for ourselves what we are unwilling to give to others! 28. Many times we hurt God by another person. 29. If we haven't made things right with, then we are not ready to make things right with people.
30. The over-riding principles are repentance and. 31. Repentance involves and going in the opposite direction. 32. We confess to the person we hurt our guilt for what we did, demonstrate through our genuine repentance, and ask them for forgiveness. 33. If they refuse to forgive us, we must leave it in the hands of God, for them, and realize that we are forgiven and no longer have to walk under guilt in any way. 34. Our main concern is not our own, but on preventing any further injury to the one we harmed. If we are truly repentant then the focus is not on us. We focus on what is best for the person who was hurt. In some cases, that may mean we fade into the background. As long as we are concerned with our own rights and what is good for us we have not come to real repentance. 35. Receiving forgiveness is possible without restitution. 36. Restitution is replacing whatever we in a person's life plus a fine for our actions. 37. If the law of our nation does not require restitution, we must do it Accidental damage involves replacement plus a fine. 39. Many offenses, such as murder, rape, kidnapping, adultery, were are so deep that the Bible prescribes punishment as the method of restitution. 40. In cases, we need to turn ourselves in to the law and take the punishment for the crime. If our nations had the courage to enforce Biblical Law, the crime rate would drop to almost zero. Innocent lives are shredded by violent people
5 because we humanistically want to indulge our sin rather order our lives Biblically. 41. Our focus is on the of the victim not our own feelings. 42. We offer restitution as a method of earning forgiveness. Forgiveness can never be earned, it can only be given. 43. Our motivation is to God and to restore what we took as much as we can. 44. Anyone who is a genuine victim of our actions must be treated with repentance and restitution to the degree they were. 45. The busy bodies can be. We have to be careful not to pick up the offenses of others. Busy bodies complicate and worsen the situation. They will be judged by God. We always work toward restitution and restoration. We do not become offended by the actions of others which do not affect us. We can destroy our own health by taking on the burdens of others.
