2 A LETTER TO PARENTS Hello! I m so excited to share with you some information about Hillside Big Kids Henderson Hills ministry to K-5th grade children and their families. First, I want to let you know a little about our Community Groups. On weekends we offer community for children in small group and large group environments. The Gospel Project for Kids is the curriculum we use for both. It follows a chronological timeline of Biblical events over a three year time span to teach kids that the Bible is one story God s story of redemption through Jesus. The kids learn how Christ fits into every part of God s big plan, pre-creation to eternity, and how they become a part of His plan too. We also emphasize some very important spiritual disciplines, such as being in community with other believers, evangelism, studying God s Word, and memorizing God s Word. To add a special incentive, we have a place called the Locker Room. The Locker Room is a store where kids can redeem points earned as they practice these spiritual disciplines. Points may be spent on the weekend following the weekend they were earned. Scripture verses may be recited to Hillside Kids weekend small group leaders. Please note that we provide one Locker Room handbook per child. Replacement handbooks will be available for purchase for 50 cents per book. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your lives.
