Overflow Parking Although residents are permitted to park their vehicles in any overflow parking lots, please be courteous to your neighbors by only using the overflow areas when necessary. IVOTE Testing Invite to Community Community members will be receiving an as a test of the new electronic voting system. The Board of Directors has decided to take advantage of testing the system by asking each of you to take a few moments to take a short survey concerning entrance gate operation. Please see attachment concerning the system test and the survey question. Annual Owners Meeting The Annual Owners Meeting is scheduled for 9:00AM, Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the Lewes Senior Center. 2 Delaware Solid Waste Authority Please use the following link to see the 2018 DSWA Collection Event Schedule for household hazardous waste, electronic goods collection and document shredding events. Be a Good Neighbor Please be a good neighbor by keeping an eye on other homes in our neighborhood, especially after a storm passes. Many residents are away during the winter months and should be notified if their house incurs any storm damage. Spring is Approaching With spring approaching, our resident population will probably start increasing. This is a friendly reminder to please drive carefully in the neighborhood by slowing down and obeying stop signs. Things to Know DelDOT Public Workshop: Intersection of Minos Conaway and SR1 The Delaware Department of Transportation (DeIDOT) held a public workshop on February 15 concerning the proposed intersection improvements at SR1 and Minos Conaway. Many Nassau Grove residents participated in the workshop and gave input into the design. Information on the project can be found at and clicking on the Public Workshop link will take you to a page where you can access the detailed information that was displayed at the public workshop. New Medicare Card Scam (from Carol Cavallero) This is pretty important to get to people with Medicare, their families and friends or adult kids who help parents with Medicare. Here's what you need to know to protect yourself, family and friends throughout the US. Starting 4/1/18 Medicare will start a year long project to replace all current Medicare cards for beneficiaries to convert to alphanumeric ID numbers. Currently the ID number is your social security number. This is starting to hit the media. Scammers are opportunistic - First of all the new Medicare card will come to you in the mail. You don't need to request it or do anything. It will show up. WHAT'S THE SCAM? Somebody from "MEDICARE " will call to tell you, you are getting a new Medicare card. But until it comes you will need a temporary card. Fee for the card is between $5-50 dollars. They want personal information, bank account or credit card so they can process your temporary card. THINGS TO REMEMBER: Medicare will never call you unless you ask them to. Medicare does all communications by mail unless you ask them to call. Ditto for anybody saying they "work with Medicare to make sure you get everything you are entitled to." HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF FROM THIS ONE? First of all spread the word. Feel free to share these notes. Use your answering machine to screen calls or just don't even answer a number you don't recognize. If it has happened to you or your friends or loved ones and personal info had been given out (happens considerably more often than you think so don't feel bad or stupid) immediately take action to protect yourself against identity theft.

5 Items of Interest Lewes in Bloom! Have you ever walked or driven through downtown Lewes and noticed beautiful plantings and pots of flowers? That is the work of Lewes in Bloom, which is a group of volunteers that beautify our town with flowers. Each year this wonderful group plants thousands of tulip bulbs to honor Lewes Dutch heritage. The City of Lewes celebrates that heritage with the annual Tulip Festival in downtown Lewes. To find out about the festivities, you can view the Lewes Chamber of Commerce website at: Several days after the festival, they will hold the annual Tulip Dig, which is an opportunity for those of you with a green thumb to dig up the tulips and take them home to replant. While the date for this even hasn t been set in stone, it is usually on a Monday after the Tulip Festival ends. Most likely the date for this year will be 4/23. Lewes Fire Department Auxiliary Fund Raiser Hop on over to the Applebee s Flapjack Fundraiser on Sunday, March 25 from 8:00AM to 10:00AM. Cost is $7.00 per person and all proceeds will be used towards the purchase of a lifesaving LUCAS Chest Compression System. See flyer at end of newsletter. Thank You! (from Cindy Winkler) Zwaanendael Women's Club thanks our Nassau Grove neighbors for their very generous food donations for the high school's food pantry during the month of February. Our community donated just over 350 pounds of food for our local students and their families! Some of the food will be used to make up Easter dinner boxes for hungry families in our area and the Zwaanendael Women's Club will provide 25 hams for this cause. We thank each one of you for helping us to help others in our greater Lewes community. Nassau Grove Book Club The Nassau Grove Book Club has determined the books to be read and discussed through February The Book Club Reading Selections can be found at the end of the newsletter. Event Flyers All event flyers are available in the newsletter, on the Clubhouse bulletin board and on the Website.
