1 How to prepare Day 6 of Creation lesson for your substitute folder Print on cardstock. Laminate a copy of animal charade to put in your folder. You can color it before hand if you like. Color and laminate a copy of Day 6 of creation for the teacher to use. Place in folder. If you are using one copy of What did God Create on Day 6? laminate it. If you are using one per child make copies to put in your folder. For an older class provide crayons so the children can circle the correct picture. To prepare the God Created Me book make a copy for each child. Use the boy cover page for boys and the girl cover page for girls. Put the pages in order and staple the side together to make a book. Make enough copies for each child of the individual pictures and cut them out. You can use an envelope for each child and place the pieces they will need for their book. Place in the substitute folder. The children will glue the pictures on during class so provide glue sticks. Laminate the song sheet and put in folder.

2 Substitute Packet Day 6 of Creation Lesson Plan Opening Activity: Play a game of charades. (use the animal charade picture) Say, We are going to talk about what God created on day 6. See if you can guess what kind of animal I am. For younger children act out an animal using motions and sounds. Let the children see the animals and choose which animal you are pretending to be. For older children let them choose an animal and act it out. Lesson: (Use picture while you go over the lesson) God was creating a beautiful world. He made sky, sun, moon, stars, birds, and fish. It was now day 6. God created all kinds of animals on day 6. Can you name some of your favorite animals? God needed someone to take care of all these animals so he made a man. His name was Adam. Adam named all the animals but he did not find anyone just like him. God made a helper for Adam. Her name was Eve. God said it was good. Activity: What did God create on day 6? (Use provided picture) Say, Do you remember what God created on Day 6? Wait for a response. Say, On day 6 God created animals and man. For younger children use one page and point to each picture. As you point to the dinosaur say, Did God create dinosaurs on day 6? Help if needed. Say, Is a dinosaur an animal? Yes! God made animals on day 6. Did God create dinosaurs on day 6? As you point to the tree say, Did God create trees on day 6? Help if needed. Say, Is a tree an animal? No! Did God create trees on day 6? Repeat with the other pictures. For older children provide a page for each child. Let them circle the pictures that God created on day 6. Help as needed. Activity: God Created Me Book (Booklet and pictures for book provided) Say, God created something else that is very special. God made all of us. Let s make a book that we can read. Help the children glue the pictures onto the correct page. Trace each child s hand on page 7. Read the book after they have finished. Songs: Sing the provided songs.
