2 ISLAMIC CENTER OF LONG ISLAND The Islamic Center of Long Island (ICLI), since its incorporation in 1982 has served the growing needs of the diverse Muslim community and has developed a special expertise and reputation for its outreach and award winning interfaith programs. ICLI inaugurated a historic first ever Interfaith Institute at ICLI on October 25th, 2015 to promote better understanding of Islam and Muslims among other faith groups. Alhamdulillah, the multi-year expansion of the center is complete! The additional space of 19,000 sq ft includes 13 classrooms, an expanded preschool, state of the art library, an Interfaith Institute; much needed funeral services, ample parking, conference facilities and recreation space for our community sisters, brothers and youth HIGHLIGHT Completion of the Athletic and Events Center at ICLI ICLI management invites you to contribute to the center s ongoing projects, whether it is a small or large contribution, all are welcome. With this tradition in mind, the Islamic Center of Long Island has continued to embellish the gardens within its premises with beautiful shrubs, trees, flowers and vegetables. The monthly pictures chosen for this calendar display the highlights of the varieties of flowers planted by our volunteers. Allah (SWT) mentions in the Quran: And We have spread out the earth, and have cast (firm) mountains in it and have caused to grow from it, every kind of delightful plant. As an insight and a reminder to every penitent servant. [Quran 50, 7-8]. He it is who sends down the water from the sky and We bring forth from it the buds of every plant; then We bring forth the green shoots, and We bring forth from it the thick clustered grain, and from the date palm, from the sheaths thereof, spring pendant bunches, and gardens of grapes, and olives, and pomegranates, alike and also unlike. Look upon their fruit, when they bear fruit, and upon its ripening. Here indeed are signs for a people who believe. [Quran 6, 99].

IC Kids Preschool - Designed to meet the needs of a growing number of parents who are looking for a head start in the English curriculum as well as an Islamic education for their child. ICLI Cub & Girl Scouts - In accordance with the Nassau County Girls & Boys Scouts of Long Island, we build girls & boys of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. ICLI Expansion - The expansion of ICLI provides the community additional classrooms for School, new state of the art preschool, library, increased parking, interfaith institute, basketball court and a ghusul (washing) area for the preparation of a deceased for burial. Interfaith Institute - Established to foster better understanding of Islam and dispel misconceptions about Muslims led by a diversified Board of Trustees. To promote interfaith dialogue and understanding among different faiths through conferences, seminars, essay contests and proactive education. Lectures, presentations on various Islamic topics are offered throughout the year. Letter Writing Campaign - Making our voice heard via weekly petitions on human rights and other issues of concern. Qur an Classes - Offered from beginners to Hifz level and are held: September - June: Monday, Wednesday and Fridays 4 8 PM (or 6-8 PM), and Saturdays, 9 AM - 1 PM July - August: Monday to Thursday from 10 AM - 1 PM (schedules subject to change) Full-Time Hifz Program - Offered to students looking to Hifz the Quran, full-time for ages 5 & up: Monday Friday (8AM 4PM) and Saturdays (8AM 1PM) (schedules subject to change) Sisters Halaqa - A forum for sisters to learn the Qur an, Hadith and issues related to day to day life. Support group to new Muslims. Ghazi Yahya Khankan Scholarship of ICLI - Awarded at ICLI s Annual Dinner in late November of each year to students graduating High School or students pursuing their undergraduate, graduate or PhD studies. Weekend School - Offering comprehensive Islamic Studies for ages 3 to l8 year-olds on Saturdays and Sundays between 10 AM and 1 PM. Registration is required.
