3 Dear brothers, I remind myself and all of you, let us together increase our iman and taqwa to Allah SWT by doing all His commands and leaving all His prohibitions.

4 Hopefully, with an increase of faith and taqwa, we may receive mercy and blessings of this life and the hereafter.

5 Today is the second day of the new year 2015 and to commemorate the Mawlid al Rasul SAW tomorrow, 12 Rabiul Awwal 1436H, the Mimbar will discuss on the topic "Rasulullah SAW and the Unity of the Ummah".

6 Dear brothers, Allah SWT through the Prophets in general and, in particular, the Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. has explained His will to mankind that He loves solidarity and hates all forms of divisions.

7 In this case Allah has explained in many verses of the Quran, among them in Surah them Ali Imran verse 103:

9 And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided. And remember the favor of Allah upon you when you were enemies and He brought your hearts together and you became, by His favor, brothers.

10 And you were on the edge of a pit of the Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus does Allah make clear to you His verses that you may be guided.

11 Based on this verse, it is clear call to mankind to be a united ummah and a prohibition from being divided. In other word, Islam prohibits any matter or action which can lead to division.

12 Therefore, as Muslims, we should act upon two matters for the goodness of the community and country:

13 First: Making efforts to strengthen the unity and the prosperity of the community and country,

14 Second: Avoiding any matters or actions that may affect the harmony and prosperity of the country.

15 Remember that a united ummah produce incredible success. Therefore, when people are united, then success will be achieved. Allah says in surah at Taubah verse 71:

17 The believing men and believing women are allies of one another. They enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and establish prayer and give zakah and obey Allah and His Messenger. Those Allah will have mercy upon them. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.

18 Muslim brothers in Islam, Rasulullah s.a.w. as the core of solidarity has given us the best example.

19 He took steps to unite Muslims through brotherhood ties among Muslims. Aus and Khazraj tribes that has long disputed were successfully reconciled.

20 Rasulullah s.a.w. enforced the obligation to maintain brotherhood relations that contribute to the cohesion and unity of the nation.

21 This was evident when he was asked by a companion as narrated by Abu Ayub al Ansari in his hadith that says:

22 .. Yes! The Prophet s.a.w. said to me, a deed that would get me into paradise. Then the Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. said: 'That you worship Allah and not associate Him with something, establish prayers, pay zakat and connect brotherhood.

23 He was also able to change the lifestyle of the people of ignorance from disbelief to faith, hostility to brotherhood, cruelty to compassion, laziness to people who work hard and so on.

24 In a mission to spread Islam, Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. had tied the Muslims through the concept of faith, one kiblah, one book and one leader.

25 The concern of the Prophet s.a.w. for his ummah can be seen in the final seconds of his life, upon his death, he still called for his followers to believe in Allah because he is the Prophet, the messenger, the leader who is caring and responsible to the nation.

26 However, what is the attitude of the ummah towards the Prophet s.a.w., this is the issue that we should contemplate together.

27 Lately, there are among us who are willing to deny the prophetic hadeeth, questioning what comes from the Prophet s.a.w. particularly those traditions and morals, his personality, insulting him by placing the name of Prophet s.a.w. on the soles of shoes, slippers, clothing, suitcases, home furniture such as floor tiles and so on.

28 There are those who deny the legislation and jurisprudence from the Quran and the hadeeth of Rasulullah s.a.w.. There are those who are willing to oppose the teachings of the Prophet s.a.w..

29 Therefore, are the lies, insults and objections made by those who are not comfortable with the teachings brought by the Prophet s.a.w. futile?

30 Dear brothers, Part of the population in our country is currently experiencing or being confronted with major floods.

31 There are among them who had to be relocated to a relief location for the security and in among them are those who lost their property and so on.

32 Actually this calamity is determined by Allah SWT solely to test His servants. Allah says in Surah al Baqarah verse 155:

33 And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient.

34 Ibn Kathir explained in his commentary: "This verse indicates that the person is receiving all the disasters that befall him and admits that he is a servant of Allah and belongs to him. Allah the Almighty has the power to do anything on His servants."

35 Thus, the mimbar would like to stress that this the time for us all to reflect upon themselves from every misfortune and disasters. Rest assured that the destiny of Allah contains much wisdom and goodness.

36 During this time we can feel the sense of unity, humanity, mutual aid among the community helping one another, either from the victims, government agencies or NGO's.

37 But what a sad, some unscrupulous deliberately took advantage to spread the word either false news through social media, SMS, whatsapps and so on for the sake of their personal interests.

38 It should be that in this situation of difficulties and hardships, they should pray to Allah SWT and give all assistance in any forms whether manpower, financial etc, on the basis of solidarity.

39 Remember that the power and help of Allah is always with the jamaah and those who are truthful. Allah says in Surah Ali Imran verse 160:

40 If Allah should aid you, no one can overcome you; but if He should forsake you, who is there that can aid you after Him? And upon Allah let the believers rely.

41 Dear brothers, Once again, the pulpit would like to state in commemorating the Maulidur Rasul with the slogan: Transformation the Heart of National Unity, let us unite in under the symbol of unity, instil love and unity for the sake of the religion, race and nation.

42 Let us together uphold the trust of Allah by being responsible, trustworthy, and honest in order to avoid the adverse effects towards our life, economic and social development.

43 To end this sermon, let us ponder upon the verse in surah Al Anfal verse 46:

44 And obey Allah and His Messenger, and do not dispute and [thus] lose courage and [then] your strength would depart; and be patient. Indeed, Allah is with the patient.

48 O servant of Allah, remember that this world is a place for temporary lodging. Truly, hereafter is the everlasting and permanent abode. So let us devote to Allah for obtaining happiness and escape from the punishment of hellfire.

49 Allah says in Surah Al Ahzab verse 56:

50 Which means: Indeed Allah confers blessing upon the prophet and His angels (ask Him to do so). O! You who have believed, ask Allah to confer blessing upon him and ask Allah to grant him peace.

52 Let us pray that may Allah SWT be please with the khalifahs of Rasulullah s.a.w i.e Sayyidina Abu Bakr al Siddiq r.a., Sayyidina Umar al Khattab r.a., Sayyinda Uthman ibn Affan r.a., Sayyidina Ali ibn Abi Thalib r.a.

53 And to his companions who struggle to uphold the religion of Allah, also to his uncles Sayyidina Hamzah and Sayyidina Abbas r.a. and to his granchildren Sayyidina Hassan and Sayyidina Hussain r.a., his daughters Sayyidatina Fatimah al Zahraa, his wives Sayyidatina Khadijah and Sayyidatina Aisyah r.a. and the other wives. Followed by his family, companions, followers of the companions and those who come after them from time to time until the end of the world.

55 O Allah, forgive all Muslims and believers, whether surviving or deceased. O Allah, grant us glory and prosperity to those who fight and spendtheirwealthinyourwaysuchasthose who pay zakat, waqaf etc.

56 Ya Allah, bestow your guidance and help to the leaders and kings of the Muslim countries especially to Abdaka Al Harith Lishariatika Al Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Al Sultan Iskandar, the Sultan and ruler for the State of Johor Darul Takzim.

57 And to Raja Zarith Sofea Binti Al Marhum Sultan Idris Shah, Tengku Ismail Ibn Sultan Ibrahim, Pemangku Raja Johor and, the Prince and Princess, the royal kinship, and all Muslims.
