4 Your detailed itinerary Day 1 Welcome to Morocco : Airport Fes - Fes Mon, 29 May Transfer from Airport Fes to your riad Fes: You will be welcome at the Airport in Fes and brought to your riad where you can get a rest and prepare for the exciting days to come The city: Founded shortly after the Arabs exploded across North Africa, Fes is often referred to as the spiritual capital of Morocco. It was once one of the most important places of scholarship in the world. It can be neatly divided into three different parts: Fes el-bali (the heart of themedina); Fes el-jdid (where thejewish quarter and the Royal Palace are located); and the Ville Nouvelle (the administrative area). Once Capital of Morocco under the rule of Moulay Ismail, this old city is syurrounded by 20 foot high walls. Volubilis: Ancient Roman town where you will be able to view the Thermae, the Orpheus Mosaic, the Temple of Jupiter, oil presses, the Capitol, the third century Triumphal Arch and the Casilica. Moulay Idriss Zerhoun: the most important pilgrimage town in Morocco. Moulay Idriss I arrived in 789 to the town of Moulay Idriss Zerhoun, brought with him the religion of Islam and started a new dynasty. Then you will have a detour to the amazing Lake Daiet Aoua: you can admire the surrounding hills is reflected in its waters, or riders who take it for a playground. Arrived in Ifrane, you will be surprised by the unusual appearance of this city. With its sloping roofs, chimneys capped with huge stork nests, its abundant flower beds, its chestnut trees the city looks like a small corner of Europe. The road continues to the ski resorts and Jebel Michlifen Habre. Then down to Azrou, you will stop at the foot of Cedar Goureau. Here you can see sometimes some of the maggots that live in this forest. Finally, after admiring the green roofs of the central square of Azrou, the rock (in Berber Azrou) the work of craftsmen, it s back to Fes. 8 Day 5 Full day excursion from Fes to Chefchaouen and back to Fes Fri, 2 Jun Full day excursion from Fes to Chefchaouen and back to Fes: You will leave Fes to Chefchaouen and your guide will meet you at your arrival in chefchaouen and you will explore the quaint bluewashed medina of Chefchaouen on foot. Wander the winding alleys of the medina and discover some of the local artisans, such as the weavers. You can find the traditional blue, white, and red-striped Riffi blankets worn by the women of the Rif, as well as soft wool and silk blankets woven on traditional looms. You can visit the 18th century Kasbah which is now a museum, and the cobbled main square, Plaza Uta el-hammam, where the striking 15th century Grand Mosque sits. 9 Day 6 Fes - Marrakech - Fes Sat, 3 Jun You will be transfered from your riad in Fes to teh airport Fes. At yoru arrival in Marrakech airport you will meet your guide and driver then you will be transfered to the medina of Marrakech to start your walking tour, accompanied by local guide. Discover some of the most important historical sites, and the old medina and souks of Marrakech. You can visit the Bahia Palace, Saadien Tombs, Ben Youssef Medresa, Koutoubia Mosque (from outside), the famous square Djemaa El Fna and parts of the medina and souks. This tour will be done on foot, since most of the medina is closed to traffic. After your visit you will be transferred to Marrakech airport.
