Notification No. 17 PSC (DR-S) of 2017 Dated: Whereas, Animal and Sheep Husbandry Departments referred 20 posts (OM: 13, RBA: 03, SC:02, ST:02) and 04 posts (OM) of Veterinary Assistant Surgeons respectively to the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission for being filled up from amongst the suitable candidates vide their communication Nos ASH/AH-52/2010 & ASH/SH/29/2010 dated: ; and whereas, the Commission notified these posts vide Notification No. 15- PSC (DR-P) OF 2016 dated: ; and whereas, in response to the above notification, 720 applications were received; and whereas, the written test of the candidates for selection was conducted on and the result of which was declared vide Notification No. PSC/Exam/2017/11 dated: in pursuance of Rule 32(a) of the J&K Public Service Commission (Conduct of Examinations) Rules, 2005 and Rule 40 of the J&K Public Service Commission (Business & Procedure) Rules, 1980 as amended from time to time; and whereas, the interview of the shortlisted candidates on the basis of written test was conducted on ; and whereas, at the time of conduct of interview the shortlisted candidates were asked to give their choice in order of preference for being considered against a particular Department on the basis of merit- cum- preference, should they fall in the consideration/selection zone in more than one Department; and whereas, the selection could not be finalized after conduct of interview as the Hon ble High Court vide order dated: in the writ petition No. SWP No.309/2017 C/w SWP No.547/2017 titled Radhika Sharma & Others Vs State & Others restrained the Commission from finalizing the selection ; and whereas; the Hon ble High Court vide order dated has been pleased to modify the above said order facilitating the Commission to conclude the selection process.

2 Page 2 of 7 Now, on the basis of the performance in the interview coupled with the weight-age accorded to the marks secured in written test in pursuance of Rule 51 of the J&K Public Service Commission (Business & Procedure) Rules, 1980 as amended from time to time and other related parameters, the Merit of the candidates who have appeared in the interview is enclosed as Annexure- A to this Notification. Consequent upon the above, the select lists as per merit cum preference of the candidates against the available posts are given in Annexure-B & C to this Notification. Note:- 1. The Commission reserves the right to have certificate/documents of the candidates verified, if it is at any stage found expedient to do so. The Select List is purely provisional and is subject to the outcome of writ petitions pending before any competent Court of law. 2. The marks obtained by all the candidates who appeared in written test held on are given in Annexure-D to this Notification.
