Instead, they look like they are running free in a forest of plants. Some of the beasts show the influence of Chinese art. In the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. This tile probably came from the summer palace known as Takht-I Suleiman. It alternated with tiles decorated with dragons. In the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. Ewer (water pitcher) 7 th century A.D., Iran This bronze pitcher copies the shape of pitchers made before Islam. The body of the pitcher is covered with abstract plant designs, while the handle is made in the shape of a four-legged animal. In the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. Door panel, wood. Egypt, 11 th century A.D. Carved horses heads and spiraling vines create a pleasing light and dark pattern. A piece like this would have been found in a rich person s house, since wood is a scarce resource in Egypt.
