3 On-going Mon to Thursday Journey to Quran - sisters class held in Urdu Thurs & Saturday Journey to Quran sisters class held in English. Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat Quran classes offered by Sr. Samina Qureshi Weekend School held on Saturdays and Sundays for students age Sunday Adult Education program first segment community issues are discussed, second segment religious lessons presented. March 31 ICLI hosted students from St. Joseph s college. Dr. Isma Chaudhry discussed how Islam views other Abrahamic faiths. Guests observed Jummah salah and discussed rituals of prayer and Islam. April 2 Islam 101 at Manhasset Congregational Church (Dr. Isma Chaudhry). April 18 Dr. Isma Chaudhry hosted and presented a talk on how hadith fill in for the Quran to students who are studying tafseer at SUNY Old Westbury. April 19 Dr. Isma Chaudhry acknowledged as one of Long Island s 50 Most Influential People of 2016 at the 14 th Annual Power List Celebration. This award was presented to her two years in a row 2015 & April 20 Dr. Isma Chaudhry hosted and presented a talk to students from SUNY Old Westbury studying the similarities and differences between Islam and Christianity. April 21 ICLI received Rabbi and his congregation from Temple Beth-El who visited our center to observe Jummah salaah and show their solidarity to the Muslim community. April 21 Youth Group potluck dinner for students April 22 Girls Scouts Earth Day Sr. Seema Rahman and Br. Habeeb Ahmed helped the girls plant flowers on ICI campus. April 22 3 rd Annual Spring Family Dinner program included keynote speaker, Mufti Mohammad Farhan, six community members recognized for their contributions to the local community and presented the Asim Munawer Memorial Award, special entertainment for children and comedian Azhar Usman. April 28 Dr., Dr. Safdar Chadda, Br. Habeeb Ahmed along with other members of board and community visited Temple Beth-El to show support to our Jewish brothers and sisters against the recent rise of anti-semitism and Islamophobia. Dr. Isma Chaudhry spoke on the Islamic perspective of interfaith bonds between communities. April 28 Youth Committee Game Night Dodgeball tournament (Sr. Noreen Kazi & Br. Amin Khwaja).

4 May 1 Drs. Qamar & Kausar Zaman, Dr. Isma Chaudhry and Br. Habeeb Ahmed attended a meeting at the Nassau County Police Department to discuss how to streamline security around ICLI campus during month of Ramadan. May 3 Dr. Isma Chaudhry gave talk on Islamophobia at Hofstra University MSA hosted event. May 4 Members of ICLI attended a unity and anti-hate rally, Not In Our Town arranged by the Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Judi Bosworth and Holocaust Memorial Center. Dr. Isma Chaudhry said a few words on Islamophobia. May 6 Sr. Seemi Ahmed was honored at the 2 nd Annual Mother s Day Luncheon for Delta Sigma Theta Sorority (Nassau Alumnae Chapter) for her accomplishments and significant contributions in community involvement. May 9 Dr. Isma Chaudhry presented talk on Islam 101 to students at Chaminade High School. May 12 Quranic Classes Graduation May 13 Weekend School Teacher s Appreciation Luncheon arranged by Sr. Noreen Kazi. She expressed words of gratitude to all who committed their weekends to teaching our youth and offered certificates and gifts. Delicious lunch was served. May 14 Part of the Adult Education Program, Mufti Mohammad Farhan offered a series on how we can prepare for Ramadan spiritually and physically. May 16 On behalf of ICLI, Br. Imran Zaidi participated in a panel, entitled, Building Sustainable Wealth Through Our Religious Institutions at Hofstra University arranged by LI Chamber of Commerce. May 16 Sr. Seema Rahman was voted to serve as a member as board of directors for Girls scouts of Nassau County. This seat was previously filled by Sr. Peggy Iamunno, an ICLI member. May 17 Dr. Isma H. Chaudhry spoke at Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Shelter Rock regarding the Islamic perspective on mental illnesses and support by the community. This event was arranged by NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness). May 18 ICLI awarded by the LI Council of Churches for contributions made to the local community. Br. Habeeb Ahmed received the award on our behalf. May 19 Dr. Isma H. Chaudhry was the moderator and speaker for Women for Healing and Networking Dinner at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Shelter Rock. This program s intent was to address divisiveness, identify the process for change and to share concerns in a multi-racial, multi-ethnic and multi-religion population. May 19 - Sr. Seemi Ahmed was a panelist and speaker at Rockville Centre Synagogue.

5 May 19 Moving up for ICLI Girls Scouts. Alhamdulilah one senior girl scout received the Gold Award. ICLI Girls scouts now has 41 scouts and 11 leaders under the leadership of Seema Rahman and Safeta Pejcinovic. May 19 Craft Night Ramadan Wreath with artist and designer Nida Mirza. May 20 Saturday School Graduation May 21 Sunday School Graduation May 26 Talk by Dr. Isma Chaudhry on Interfaith Harmony at Temple B Nai Shalam (100 Hempstead Ave, Rockville Centre, NY).
