5 Lack of clean drnkng water s a major problem n developng countres. Water-borne dseases are rampant n economcally depressed rural areas because clean runnng water s smply not avalable. The only alternatve s to nstall hand pumps or deep wells (drlled wells) to draw clean water from the ground dependng on the depth of the water table. The KGNWT has, wth your generous support, provded clean and safe drnkng water for those who cannot afford t due to ther fnancal stuaton. People don t want charty, they need to be provded wth opportuntes to get themselves out of the vcous cycle of poverty. The KGNWT have launched two projects, the Rckshaw Assstance project and the Sewng Machne Assstance project to help empower poor jobless people wth a means to earn ther daly lvelhoods and get themselves and ther famles out of poverty. The KGNWT has already dstrbuted 56 rckshaws to deservng famles. In addton, 26 rckshaws have also been provded to deservng famles on a no proft no loss bass. Recently, the KGNWT has started another project to dstrbute 70cc motorbkes to deservng persons on a no proft no loss bass. The trust wll dstrbute 200 bkes among the most deservng applcants and there are already 1,100 more applcatons n the ppelne! There s poor access to health servces n the area and the need s great for such a hosptal especally wth the maternal mortalty rate beng 15 tmes more n developng countres than n developed countres and chldren wthout mothers beng less lkely to receve proper nutrton, health care and educaton, leadng to a contnued cycle of poverty and poor health. 8 PROVIDING VOCATIONAL TRAINING FOR ONE LADY COSTS RS. 33, / $325 / AED 1,250 educaton KGNWT has donated over Rs. 12.5m ( 75,000 / $125,000 / AED 465,000) to the Memon Industral & Techncal Insttute n Korang, Karach, for the constructon of a women s vocatonal wng. Every year, over 12,000 lades are traned n dfferent trades whch enables them to do work and earn a dgnfed lvng, takng themselves and ther famles out of poverty. In addton, the Ehsaas Trust has also started a vocatonal talorng course for lades at ts offce. The KGNWT has also donated nearly Rs, 2.3m ( 14,000 / $24,000 / AED 85,500) for the constructon of the Madrasa Peer Mahal Toba Tek Sngh n Punjab where not only can the local communty offer prayers but ther chldren can also get a relgous educaton. In addton, the KGNWT has donated over Rs. 200,000 ( 1,200 / $2,000 / AED 7,400) to Bahra Unversty & Medcal College for educatonal scholarshps and nearly Rs. 3,3m ( 20,000 / $34,000 / AED 122,700) to a number of deservng students for educatonal purposes.
