This gives the students a base to showcase their dexterity, talent and endurance in the field of various extracurricular activities like dance, drama, music, literary, fine arts etc. The festival aims to bring students from different institutions and culture together to work as a team, appreciate each other and learn from each other. Scheduled in the month of October every year, this is the event where students take a brief time off their busy schedule and strive hard to acclaim proficiency in the field of arts and literary. It gives students a chance to develop their self confidence, build up the sense of competitiveness by exploring their leadership qualities which can in turn help them in their professional growth. PANCHTATVA as the theme decided for ZEST 2017 depicts the five basic elements of life i.e. "Space", "Water", "Air", "Fire" and "Earth" which are the source of energy and creation of life. ZEST is a platform for our youths to drive the energy for creation of new ideas in various art forms like dance, theatre, fashion show etc. So that they can prove their capabilities in different styles. 2 PAGE 2 PANCHATATTAVA ZEST 2K17 I would like to congratulate all the students and faculty members for participating in the upcoming fest(zest 2K17). This years theme panchatattava is apt for our fest. Panchatattava is a Sanskrit word which means five elements i.e Earth, Water, Air, Sky, Fire. They represent uniqueness as individual but visualise the importance together. This clearly represents the heart of our college wherein all the committees come together to organize this grand fest. panchatattava or panchabooth shows the soul of the human body; and the Lingayans are here ready for an innovative dive in search of the true soul. It is really exciting to observe the students of Lingaya s University come up for their Annual Cultural Fest with resourceful themes of contemporary significance. ZEST-2K17 with the theme "Panchatattava" w ill be cer ta inly a new a r ena for the or g a nizer s and the participants to bring out a lot many novel observations, ideas and suggestions for a better personal development.from the day of my joining in this university i observe students here are with Zeal and courage to take up multi tasks in annual functions at the same time balancing their studies with good grades. ZEST as preceding events is going to be a grand experience with lot of joy and exuberating excitement and immense merriment. As a teachers, it is an entirely different opportunity for us to unearth hidden potential of students and shape up their energies, ideas and creativity in right direction. Thus, being a two way learning for all. Also I would like to encourage more and more students (1st and 2nd year) to participate in this fest to make it a grand one. All these panchatattvas are inter related and are related to Five sensing elements Smell, Taste, Hearing, Touch, and Sight. Knowledge of these elements are the essential prerequisite to understand the reality of life. The Element the theme of ZEST 2K17 represents all these elements, talent, creativity, dancing, singing, togetherness. ZEST is one of the biggest glorifying event of the year where thousands of people visit and believe that sky is the limit. ZEST is a plethora of events where every talent is show cased and put to a test. Music, Dance, Literature, Painting, Audio Video enhancements, updated Technological skills, Financial, Marketing, Time management skills fill the ambience of the ZEST with excitement and lot of fun. ZEST gives a chance to all the students to participate and to show case their skills in any discipline. 4 PAGE 4 PANCHATATTAVA ZEST 2K17 The Grand Festival of Lingaya s University ZEST, is organized every year with great zeal and passion to bring talent out of the students. Celebrities, Performers and Participants of various organizations and institutes take part in the festival that makes it really inclusive, divergent and rejoicing. The Five Elements - Prithvi (Earth), Jal (Water), Vayu (Air), Agni (Fire) and Akash (Ether) has been aptly chosen this year s festival theme since it represents the most important foundational concept of life and sustainability. It connects the Physical Actions to Knowledge. More than physical elements, the five elements represent ideas that are fundamental to nature and matter and moreover describes the dynamic balance of creation. The five elements are the integration of qualities that form the building blocks of nature. If a person truly understands the five elements, the doorway of knowledge opens to the understanding of creation itself. I believe that this theme after putting it into practice and implementing it, will surely bring out the hidden capabilities of students out from their inner essence and will make us feel proud. I extend my best wishes and greetings to all the participants, organizers and all others and wish the ZEST 2k17 a splendid success. I wish all the best for the Zest-2017 Dr. H. Elements is the rightly chosen the theme of Zest The five elements which are Earth or Prithvi; Water or Jal ; Fire or Agni; Air or Vayu and then Ether or Akasha. Our whole cosmic quest of the world and beyond starts from the point of panchabhuta (five elements) which then manifests in an enjoining manner to form the life force and then, later, those five elements disintegrates to ensure a celestical traverse at the Paramanu (atom) level. Now, we have a great connection to these five elements simply because we are made of these! The Taittiriya Upanishad describes the five elements as the five layers of protection that we "wear". "From Parmatman, or the Supreme Soul, akasha came into being; from akasha, came vayu; from vayu, came agni; from agni, came jal; from jal, came prithvi; from prithvi, came vegetation; from vegetation, came food; from food, came man", says The Taittiriya Upanishad. So, it s easy to see how we are all connected As the balance of these elements are must to sustain the nature or even our body, same way our zest is also having the balanced blend of all colors such as music, dance, theater, etc I wish all the best for the Zest Dr. K. 6 PAGE 6 PANCHATATTAVA ZEST 2K17 Lord of panchabootha We say we love flowers, yet we pluck them. We say we love trees, yet we cut them down. we say we love nature, yet we are destroying it. And people still wonder why some are afraid when told they are loved. PANCHABOOTHA (five elements). These five elements are those that we are made up of and the entire universe as well and these are the elements that we will end. In our ancient cultures it is said that lord Shiva is the controller of these five elements (panchabootha). Time (Kaal) is the factor which runs through these elements is their permanence as they are beyond the touch of change and since they form the very basic building blocks of universe (of which humans are also a part). These five Aneesh (Head) elements which are Earth or prithvi; water or Jal; Fire or Agni; Air or Vayu and then Space or Akasha has its own characteristics (Press Committee) which relates to our life. The committees so formed for Zest are related to elements of different characteristics. Elements are the building blocks of universe, committees are the building blocks of Zest which is celebrating in our University. Each committee is working so hard for the grand success of the zest 2k17.so I hope all committees use their precious time and lets join our hands for the grand success of the event. College life is one of the most exciting and important phases in anyone s life. During this period, a student comes across several experiences, and learns new things. A college festival is not just for fun, it adds value to a student s learning experience. In fact we can say that importance of Cultural and Technical Events in college equals the importance of studies. College zests promote innovative ideas and allow students to share their knowledge and ideas with other students. Like every year Lingaya s is organising zest with the theme panchtattva.the five elements water, air, fire, space and earth are together known as Panchtattva. It is said that even human body is composed of these five elements. Technically speaking, these five elements are related to the five senses of a human body. These five elements are also called Panchmahabhoot. Life of human or any kind of living object cannot be imagined in the absence of even of these five elements. Water provides contentment Amani (Head) (Press Committee) in life, whereas air moves in a body in the form of oxygen. five elements in our zest are dance,music, painting, theatre, literature. Students need to be thinkers, be problem-solvers, demonstrate creativity, and work as a member of a team. By participating in zest one can develop all these skills.

7 PAGE 7 PANCHATATTAVA ZEST 2K17 DIVERSITY IN UNIVERSITY Every year our college hits with a huge tsunami called zest. The Effected people who are passed out from our college achieves a greater heights in their Life. So this is our turn to face this bang with full of happiness. So what is this all about this year we named our Tsunami PANCHATATTVA Which means the ELEMENTS. There are mainly 5 basic elements so called Earth, Water, Air, Fire and space. That people from different origin come together and form a family called LINGAYAS. These five elements gives us a special message to everyone to reach their respective destinations. We treat Earth as our mother. She has lot of patience to bear pains and problems created naturally or by humans. So our mother Earth Gopal (Head) (Press Committee) teaches us to maintain patience towards life until we solve our problems. Water is one of the essential element to sustain life. Oceans are mixed with water coming from different places still forms water. I treat our university like an ocean mixed with different cultures of students. Air flows from low end to high end and vice versa. Similarly our way of communication also flows from beginning to the ultimatum. Fire removes dark from our life. So I mention our teachers are like fire who brings success in our life and brings wisdom. The element Sky shows us how to stay calm under severe conditions. It s my great privilege to give an article for Zest. Solve the two games and get the prizes, the first one to call us to the no with the right answer will be awarded. An old man Ankit lives alone in a flat. Because of his age, he is not able to move comfortably and hence most of the things used to be delivered to his house. On Friday while delivering the mail, postman feels something suspicious in the flat and try to look inside through the key hole and he saw a blood filled body of the old man. CID arrived the scene. On the outside of flat, he found two bottles of warm milk, Tuesday newspaper, some unopened mails, some gifts. Guess who killed the old man?
