7 Festival of India (FOI) Dear Friends, Festival of India team met in June. Team is looking for your support. If you or other businesses are interested in sponsoring any FOI activities, please send a message to info@festivalofindia.org Festival of India 2018 is scheduled for September 29th & 30th at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. Team has started the preparation and you may have already heard from the FOI team members. FOI is looking for your support with the souvenir book. Please share the souvenir flyer with your friends. Let us know if you or your employer would like to participate in supporting the souvenir book. New volunteers are always welcome. Please contact us if you would like to explore the various opportunities for volunteering at the event or serving on the committee. FOI team meets on the 3rd Sunday of each month in the HCV library. 9 Annual General Body Meeting Invitation Sunday July 3PM Dear Devotees, The Annual General Body Meeting of the Hindu Center of Virginia will be held on Sunday July 15th from 3:00pm to 5:00pm in the community hall. You are all invited to attend. On that day, the corporate body will elect new eligible life members to the corporate body. A call for nomination has been sent to all corporate members. As per our bylaws, a ballot with the approved candidates will follow after vetting of the nominations by the elections committee. The meeting is open to the public, however, only corporate members in good standing may vote on any issues that may need to be voted upon. I invite all corporate members to contact Rakesh Chug regarding corporate membership, or the treasurer Sanjeev Giribhattanavar to bring their dues up to date. As you are aware the awardees for 2015, 2016 and 2017 were Dr. Manikoth Kurup, Dr. Narsimha Chari and Mr. Inder Midha, respectively. This year s Selection Committee is soliciting nominations for the award for the year The nominations should reach the following address by September 30, Each nomination should accompany a short statement as to why the nominee deserves the award.
