2 Lalitha Sahasra nama Stotram Chanting on Sunday 15 October 2017 Lalitha Sahasranamam (1000 names of Goddess Lalithambikai Devi) is a secret and very sacred text or mantra in Hindu religion. This mantra has been revealed to mankind through the discussion between lord Hayagriva and the great saga Agasthya. At Selvavinayakar Kovil every third Sunday of the month Lalitha Sahastra Nama parayanam being recited with special Poojai to Godess Lalithambikai. 3 Kethara Gowri Viratham ends on Thursday 19 October 2017 Kethara Gowri viratam is observed for twenty one days starting from Shukla Paksha Ashtami(Eighth moon day in its growing phase) in the month of Puratasi (mid Sep to mid Oct). The final day also should be observed in great devotion. Shakti(Goddess Gowri) wanted to become part of Lord Shiva s body. She observed the Kethara Viratam, one of Gods favorite viratas. Pleased by Her austerities God gave the left part of His body to shakti and became Arthanareeswarar. The viratham is then called Kethara Gowri Viratham since Goddess Gowri observed it. 4 Kanthashashti viratham Starts on Friday 20 October 2017 Hindu Ahlaya Sangam Qld Inc (HASQ) provides free accommodation and food (Theertham by Kurukal) for the devotees who wish to observe Fasting or Upavaasam. This facility will be available for the whole Kantha Shashti period from 20/10/2017 to 24/10/2017. Devotees can participate on Skantha Purana bajans religious talks and other temple activities during their stay at temple. These poojas usually named after each Zodiac (Rasi) signs. This month puja called Tulam Masa Abishekam. 9 Sankatahara Chathurthi on Tuesday 07 November 2017 Sankatahara Chathurthi Chathurthi (Krishna Paksha) which comes after Full moon day called Sankatahara Chathurthi. At our temple Lord Ganesha's pooja performed in the evening. It is believed that the person who does Sankatahara Chathurthi poojai will get relieved from all their worries and troubles.
