Here is a very special part of our program put together by the senior children of our group One day, the gopis were asking Krishna why He got the black color. Mother Yashoda was not black, and father Nandababa was not black. What did Krishna say? Please enjoy this musical dance! Character and Roles Character Scenes Dialogs Acting Level Krishna 1 8 Saanvee Gopi Manasvini Gopi Anupama Gopi Neha Gopi Mahika Gopi Medha Gopi Dakshayani GokulBhajan& Vedic Studies (1) Brahma Vimohana
MC-1: SCENE 1 Why is Krishna Black Krishna is now grown up and performing more and more wonderful pastimes! Once when Lord Krishna played His flute, so many gopis came running. Assembled young gopis were teasing Lord Krishna asking Him why he was black. What did Krishna say? PROPS: Trees (4) PROJECTION: Vrindavan forest with Yamuna River Evening/night ACTORS Entering from Left Gopis (half) In Scene when opens Krishna (playing flute) Entering from Right Gopis (half) 100 [BG] Vrindavan forest. Lord Krishna is standing in the middle and beautifully playing on His flute. Attracted by the flute, gopis in batches running in from each side in madness in random) 101 Krishna (Completes the playing of flute. Slowly opens the eyes and see the gopis around) Oh, very nice. When did you all come? Why did you all come in the middle of the night? 102 Radha Rani What? Did you ask, 'why did we come?' Your flute makes us run crazy! Why did you call us? 103 Krishna Oh no no..! I never called any one! I was just kind of bored, and played my flute! 104 Radha Rani Ha.. With that little rpiece of bamboo stick, you are making our lives miserable! 105 Gopi-1 One day we are surely going to steal it and break it! 106 Krishna Then I will make another! Why are you blaming my innocent flute? 107 Gopi-2 This bamboo stick is our greatest enemy! 108 Gopi-3 It makes us sleepless 109 Gopi-4 It makes us all mad 110 Gopi-5 Especially when a black snake plays it. 111 Krishna You call me a black snake? Why? 112 Gopi-6 Because you are black! 113 Radha Rani Just tell me why you are black? You never told us why you are black. Your father Nandbaba is not black.. Your mother Yashoda is not black. Then, how come you are black? GokulBhajan& Vedic Studies (2) Brahma Vimohana
114 Gopi-1 Please tell us why! We will not leave you if don t answer right! [Song segment-1] 115 Krishna You see.. I was born on a black night and I drank the milk of a black cow and my maiya gave me a black blanket. All the rain went thru the blanket and made me black! [Song segment-2] 116 Gopi-2 No no! [Song segment-3] 117 Krishna Ok.. this is the real reason! You see! I danced on a black snake named kaliya. That snake had a black color. So I became black! [Song segment-4] 118 Gopi-3 No no no! We won t believe you! [Song segment-5] 119 Krishna Ok.. this is actually the real reason! Everday, Gopis call me in their house and feed me butter and candy. But all these gopis have a black mind, very black! So I became black! [Song segment-6] 120 Gopi-4 No no no! [Song segment-7] 121 Krishna Ok.. I promise.. this is the real reason! You gopis put so much of kaajal in your eyes and take bath in Yamuna. When I take bath there, the black color comes on me! I am also the apple of your eyes. So the color of your kaajal gets on me! So I am black! [Song segment-8] 122 All [Song segment-8] (Completes the end of the dance) (Screen closes) GokulBhajan& Vedic Studies (3) Brahma Vimohana
Ending Dance-: Jara Itna <Prelude Music> - oh kaanha Lead Gopi: Oh Kānhā Oh Kānhā <Music Repeats> - oh kaanha Lead Gopi: Zara Sujānā Zara Sujānā Gopis: 1 & 2: Gopis: 3 & 4: Meine kāli rāt mein janam liya, Aur kāli gāy kā dudh piya Meri kāmli bhi kāli hai, Isiliye kāla hoon Gopis: 5 & 6: Meine kāli nāg par nrtya kiya Aur kāli nāg ko nāth liyā Nāgo kā rāng kālā, GokulBhajan& Vedic Studies (4) Brahma Vimohana
Gopis: 7 & 8: Sakhi roz hi ghar mein bhulāti hain, Aur mākhan mishri khilāti hain Sakhiyon kā mann kālā, --- ending --- All Gopis: Sakhi nayno mein kajra lagāti hain, Aur nayno mein humko basāti hain Kajre kā rāng kālā, Zara itnā batāde Kānhā, Terā rang kālā kyun Jag se nirāla kyun... (2 times) (Playing flute to end) Meaning O Kanha, Hear me before you go. Krishna just tell me why you are so black? And even after being so black, why are you different from this world? I was born on a black night and I drank the milk of a black cow. My blanket is also black, and hence I'm so black. I danced on a black snake and I conquered a black snake. The snakes have black color, and hence I'm so black. Everyday, Gopis call me in their house and feed me butter and sugar. Gopis have a black mind, and hence I'm so black Gopis put kājal in their eyes and I am the apple of their eye. The color of the kājal is black, and hence I'm so black.
