1 Dr. POOVAPPA GOWDA K. Dr. Poovappa gowda K. is a well-known in the literary circle of Karnataka, and he has already made a name for himself as a promising writer, critic, researcher and innovative teacher. He did his M.A. in Kannada from mangaluru University in Dr Poovappa gowda K. joined Nehru memorial College, sullia in 1986 and now he is an Associate Professor and Head in the department of Kannada. He is also in served in many cultural related organizations.he has served on the B.O.E. and B.O.S. of Mangalore University and various autonomous colleges as a Member, besides participating in several conferences/seminars/workshops both as a delegate and as Resource Person. Poovappa gowda K. was awarded Ph.D. for his research work on Ullakulu- Ithihasikathe,Pradesikathe matthu Aradhana swarupa based on folklore in 2008 from Mangaluru University. He has successfully guided many project works. He has authored 6 books in Kannada and edited 2 text books for undergraduate courses. Among the books he has published, some are recognized as reference books for post graduate studies and for research. Pookare matthu ethara janapadiya lekhanagalu, Moukhikhathana,Theedidashtu gandha,kukkeyalli nagara madike are his works. His research articles have been published in the research journal Shodha. He has awarded with Karnataka tulu sahithya academy for the work Moukhika sankathana in the year 2010.
