1 KCES Watershed Surveillance and Research Institute have extended its work in Dhule and Nandurbar districts along with Jalgaon district. We are mainly working for water centric activities and our areas of work are: Implementation and evaluation, Research and Education, Training and skill development and awareness and outreach. In reporting period of we have achieve few more mile stones and theses are as follows: Implementation and Evaluation: We have developed, Horizontal and Up floor Reed Bed for treatment of sewage water using natural media in Pathri village. It is an innovative but proven activity for treatment of domestic sewage water for Pathri village. We worked extensively and intensively as third party for the assessment of work done under Jalyukta Shivar Abhiyan which is a flagship program of Government. We offered the third party evaluation job by district administrator Jalgaon and to be finished in very short span of time. And we successfully finished the survey work in 23 days and all data were computerized and all activities were tagged using GIS. The report was unbiased and eye opener for all. We presented the analysis and observation for each activity before the honorable collector, CEO ZP, DCFs, SADO and all district and taluka level executives of all departments.

2 After Jalgaon district s experience we would like to spread our working area and after continuous visit and telephonic conversation with district level officers in surrounding districts, we got the opportunity to work in Dhule as well as Nandurbar district. We may extent our area further may be in next year. In Dhule district we have done evaluation for 121 activities and report submitted to district administration.

3 Research and Education: We are running one lab for development of biofertilizer and we have developed 600 small bags and simultaneously doing field trials also at very small scale. We have also developed a small nursery for indigenous species and more than 4000 saplings are ready for plantation in coming monsoon. We are also trying to establish a unit for mushroom cultivation but sometimes climatic conditions become hurdles. Budding Research: Two students (Hemant Mahale and Aditi Patil) of Third year Statistic department prepare a short paper on Rain fall monitoring using control chart for the last hundred years ( ) for Jalgaon district for Avishakar and this will be developed in the form of poster. Ravindra Jadhav B.Sc. Geoinformatics, Identification of suitable sites for water harvesting structures in Suki watershed also participated in Avishakar One research Project is ongoing entitled, S & T Communications and interpretive capacity building on Eco and WASH issues sponsored by DST New Delhi. In this project awareness component is well done in five villages of Jalgaon District. Various street plays were organized at village level for sensitization of personal hygiene and sanitation

4 Training and skill development: This year JalSRI offered technical training to the ground level executives of different departments who are working for Jalyukta Shivar Abhiyan in three districts viz., Jalgaon, Dhule and Nandurbar. Our senior team member Mr. Milind Pandit who is main trainer for training on, Water conservation: technical and practical learning in context to Jalyukta Shivar become honorary advisor for the executives of Jalyukta Shivar in three districts. We organized talk show, poster presentation, short film show (water centric), workshops, path natya etc
