3 Message from the President Dear members of the community, friends and family... Here we are once again, a year has passed by quickly and we are back full circle to our favorite time of the year, Durga Pujo. On behalf of the Bichitra Inc. Executive committee, I have the pleasure to invite you to join in our 3 day celebration of the fervor, festivities, fun and food. Bichitra Inc. has thrived for over 40 years because of dedicated community members who strive to bring everyone together. It s been more of a family then just a group, not only to us but our children too. We fully intend to foster that community sprit going forward. This year the committee has focused on getting back to basics as the theme, therefore you will see increased charity activities locally along with all our cultural offering. So please come, enjoy these care free days, create warm memories for those cold Michigan nights, wear the comfortable blanket of nostalgia, eat good food and let your hair down, because you are in company of your friends and foremost of all, let s celebrate the glory of Debi Durga. I would personally like to use this pulpit to congratulate every one of you, present and past, for a job well done in keeping the community sprit flying. 14 Dusk To Dawn A flash of pink starts to fade as night begins to fall. There is a cool breeze blowing on a full moon night. Racoons are nibbling at bugs and bats are flying around looking for food. The birds are returning to their warm and cozy nest after a long day of work. The little chicks are happy to have their mommy back home. The moon shimmers on the lake beyond the meadows as the boats return to dock. There is a stillness that descends and suddenly dark clouds start to roll in. Lightning flashes across the sky as thunder crashes and it rains cats and dog!!. The strange noise along with the rain turns out to be hail little balls of ice, which covers our backyard. Lights of some houses appear to be on, while hails falls like sparkles till they drop heavily on the ground and tap on the windows making clicketyclack sounds. The sky clears and the moon comes out as the stars fill the sky. In the stars you see patters some looking like shapes of animals. The frogs are croaking making the ribbiting sounds. The suns starts to rise as dawn begins. The birds are starting to chirp, the bees are buzzing and the alarm clocks starts to ring. Darkness yields to a beautiful new day.
