Homage to martyrs of the Quit India Movement The Chairman made a reference to the Quit India Movement launched under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi on this day in The House observed silence, all Members standing, as a mark of respect to the memory of martyrs and freedom fighters a.m. 2. Reference to the anniversary of the dropping of Atomic Bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki The Chairman made a reference to the dropping of atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan on 6 th and 9 th August, The House observed silence, all Members standing, as a mark of respect to the memory of the victims of the atom bombs a.m. 3.
