2 Meet the President Bishop Henry Brown, Sr. is a native of Baltimore, Maryland. He was born April 18, 1958 to the late Deaconess Hallie Brown and the late Deacon Ulysses Brown. He was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System, graduating from Forest Park High School in He furthered his education by attending the North Carolina Coastal Community College in Jacksonville, North Carolina and also in San Diego, California. He was enrolled in a satellite course of the Full Gospel Baptist College of New Orleans, Louisiana. Bishop Brown has also studied at Pitt Community College in Greenville, North Carolina. Bishop Brown is married to the former Carlethea Walker of Baltimore, Maryland. She is a committed and dedicated partner who continues to support his work in the ministry, standing by his side as the help meet that she has been called to be. They are the proud parents of two sons, Henry, Jr. and Antonio, and one daughter, Nacelia. He heard the call to preach the gospel in 1983 and he accepted the call in He was ordained in 1990 by the United American Freewill Baptist Denomination. His pastorate consists of: Free Will Chapel FWB Church in Pollocksville, North Carolina, Blooming Hill FWB Church in Richlands, North Carolina and currently Mt. Calvary FWB Church, Inc, Greenville, North Carolina, serving as the Senior Pastor. On November 2, 2003, Bishop Brown was consecrated as Bishop at Mt. Calvary Free Will Baptist Church. God has elevated him to another level in the ministry. Bishop Brown began his pastorate at the Mt. Calvary FWB Church, Inc in November He is a pastor with a vision; a vision for the up-building of the kingdom, construction of a larger physical facility and winning more souls to Christ. Bishop Brown is a man who is compassionate and has a heart for the people.

3 Upon his arrival at Mt. Calvary, the ministry had approximately 900 members. Under his leadership, it has increased to over 1,800 active members. There are over fifty ministries serving this church and the surrounding community. Some of the ministries address women's & men's issues, youth and young adult issues, community outreach, illiteracy and continued education. In 2009, Bishop had the vision to open a Christian based Bible College to educate, not just the members of Mt. Calvary, but for the public to have the opportunity to embark upon Christian education at an affordable cost. After expressing his ideas to Elder Pamela Holley and Elder Elizabeth Ward, the vision came to manifestation, in the creation of the Mount Calvary Bible College. Upon the beginning, the bible college was a satellite school under the Summit Bible College of Bakersfield, California. Today the successfully school operates independently and is accredited under the Hope Bible Consortium of Bible Institutions. Offering Associates, Bachelor s, Master s and Doctorate degrees in Biblical Studies, Christian Ministry, Christian Counseling and Leadership. Bishop Brown loves the Lord with his whole heart and being and is a willing vessel continually used by God. He proclaims the Gospel of Jesus Christ untiringly. It is his desire to wear out, instead of rust out doing the will of God. With all of his accolades, he is most proud to say that he is a Child of God. Follow him as he follows Christ!

4 Mount Calvary Bible College Constitution and By- Laws Section 1 Name The name of this educational institution which is the educational ministry of the Mount Calvary Free Will Baptist Church, Inc., a not for profit corporation and it shall be called Mount Calvary Bible College. Section II Purpose Mount Calvary Bible College functions primary as a classroom based school for mature, self- motivated pastors, counselors, and other Christian ministers and laity allowing them to earn an affordable and convenient undergraduate and graduate degree from a reputable institution with majors in the fields of Biblical Studies, Christian Ministry, Counseling and Leadership. Section III: Board of Directors The Board of Directors of Mount Calvary FWB Church, Inc. shall serve as the Board of Directors of the Mount Calvary Bible College. This governing body shall have authority for all matters of policy, procedures, program, personnel and finances. Section V: Personnel The Pastor of Mount Calvary FWB Church, Inc and Chief Executive Officer shall serve as the President of the Mount Calvary Bible College. It will be the decision of the President whether or not he/she will employ an Academic Dean, who shall be responsible for supervising the faculty and curriculum of the Institute. The President will employ other staff and faculty members as needed to carry out the purposes of this institute.

5 Section VI: By Laws The By- Laws of Mount Calvary FWB Church, Inc. shall also serve as the By- Laws for the Mount Calvary Bible College. The History of Mount Calvary Bible College Mount Calvary Bible College is the recognized educational ministry of Mount Calvary FWB Church, Inc. Bishop Henry Brown, Sr. founded the Mount Calvary FWB Church, Inc. in September Mission Mount Calvary Bible College, empowered by the Holy Spirit and serving as the educational ministry of Mount Calvary FWB Church, Inc. is committed to the belief that the Body of Christ is called to equip the saints to do the work of the ministry. The mission of Mount Calvary Bible College is to equip Kingdom people to become what they are intended for his Kingdom. Our mission is to equip Church Leadership, to be and become better teachers, to challenge Church leadership to make full proof of their ministries and to celebrate believers in their ministries. In pursuing these goals, Mount Calvary Bible College seeks to be a faithful and responsible part of the Church and to strengthen cooperative ties with other educational institutions of like mission and philosophy.

6 Mount Calvary Bible College Statement of Faith We believe the Bible, to be inspired and the only infallible and authoritative Word of God. We believe that there is one God eternally existent in three persons, God the Father, God the Son, And God the Holy Spirit. We believe in the Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ in his virgin birth, in his sinless life, in his miracles, in his vicarious and atoning death, in his bodily resurrection, in his ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal future to the earth in power and glory to rule over the nations. We believe that the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious blood of Christ. We believe that regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for personal salvation. We believe that the redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing to the human body in answering to believing prayer. We believe that the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4 is given to believers who ask for it. We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a Holy life. We believe in the resurrection of the saved and the lost, the one to everlasting life and the other to everlasting damnation.

7 Religious Exemption by The University of North Carolina Mt Calvary Bible College, Inc. have been declared exempt from the requirements for licensure, under provisions of North Carolina General Statutes Section (G.S.) (d) for exemption from licensure with respect to religious education. Exemption from licensure is not based upon any assessment of program quality under established licensing standards. Accreditation Mount Calvary Bible College was accredited by the Hope Bible Institute & Seminary, the American Accrediting Association of Theological Initiations (A.A.A.T.I.) Rocky Mount, North Carolina and Accrediting Association of Bible Schools and Theological Institutions Inc. (A.A.B.S.T.I) Chicago, Illinois. Mount Calvary Bible College furthermore does uphold the highest standards of academic excellence and integrity that all the degrees awarded are absolutely legitimate and totally honorable. A degree awarded from Mount Calvary Bible College covers the major taken with that degree. A student or potential student must understand that credits taken in one type program may or may not transfer to another type program. This is the sole determination of the receiving institution. The job market is highly competitive. Training is specialized in most fields. A graduate in one field may have difficulty in being hired in a field that they are not certified for. Mount Calvary Bible College is a non- secular institution. It is our sole purpose to expand and prepare out students in the study of the Bible, Theology, and Christian Ministry and for other Christian related ministries.

8 Admission /Academic Information Enrollment shall be granted to each student applicant of at least 17 years of age, without regard to sex, race, color, physical disability, national and ethnic origin, creed, denomination or religious affiliation, expressing a desire to learn. Applicants should have spiritual covering and be related to a local Church or Ministry. Mount Calvary Bible College seeks to encourage vigorous discussion and research as an integral element in our common search for truth. We believe that the engagement of one another in discussion as a necessary pre- condition for genuine learning faithfulness and mutuality. Mount Calvary Bible College seeks to be and challenge our students to be a prophetic arm of the church on issues of pressing human concern by providing a forum in which these social questions can be addressed freely and critically in the context of biblical, theological perspectives and revelation. Mount Calvary Bible College seeks applicants who exhibit and embody the transcendent unity that is ours in Jesus Christ. Admission Procedure Enrolled students are expected to complete an application form. An essay of their goals and purpose of attending Mount Calvary Bible College is necessary. Further instructions are given at orientation. Transfer Students Students transferring from theological seminaries, bible colleges, schools of ministries, will be given credit for classes taken as their credits approximates the curriculum of Mount Calvary Bible College. Any course grades less than C will

9 not be transferred. A copy of previous transcripts is to be sent to the office of Mount Calvary Bible College for evaluation. Upon completion of each evaluation, Mount Calvary Bible College will notify the student of the number of course credits accepted by the school. Transcripts All grades recorded become a permanent part of student s academic history. If a student receives a failing grade, that grade will remain on the record. If such a course is re- taken the new registration and grade will also be recorded on the student s record. When a request is made for an official transcript, the first transcript form for each student is provided without charge, but each subsequent official transcript is issued at a charge of $ Semester Break down Each Semester is 12 weeks long There is a two- three week break between semesters Fall Semester Winter Semester Spring Semester

10 Tuition and fees Tuition will be charged as follows: Registered Students: Non- Registered Students: $40.00 per class (plus books) $50.00 per class (plus books) Book cost varies depending on the classes being taught. The range for book costs is $15.00 to $ If a student is not enrolled in a class and wishes to purchase a book for one of the classes, they may do so by providing the fee for that book. All books are ordered in bulk by the Administration of the Bible College. There will be a one- time enrollment fee of $25.00, for the purpose of declaring the seriousness of the applicant to attend classes. This fee is non- refundable. Certificate or degree replacement fee is $ Graduation fee is $ (includes appropriate hood, cap tassel, retainable robe and degree)

To be eligible for certificate, Associate s, Bachelor s Degree, a student must successfully complete his or her prescribed course of study with at least a 2.0 grade point average. To be eligible for Master s or Doctoral degree, a student must have successfully completed his or her prescribed course of study with at least a 3.0 grade point average. Students graduating with a grade point average will be recognized as Cum Laude. Students graduating with grade point average will be recognized as Magna Cum Laude. Students graduating with grade point averages as Summa Cum Laude.

Students writing research papers, theses, and dissertations are expected to use the guidelines set forth by Kate L. Turabian A Manual for Writers of Research Papers, Theses, and Dissertations 7 th Edition.

13 Degree Credit Hour Requirements Associate Degree: This degree may be earned by having a total of 60 credit hours. Bachelor Degree: This degree may be earned by having a total of 120 credit hours. Master Degree: This degree may be granted upon the completion of 35 credit hours of study above the Bachelor s degree including a submitted thesis Doctorate Degree: This degree may be granted upon completion of 35 credit hours above the Bachelor s degree and 35 credit hours above the Master s Degree including a submitted dissertation of high quality Programs/Concentrations Biblical Studies Christian Ministry Christian Counseling Leadership Certificate or Associates Only Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate of Divinity (Student musts have at least 8 courses in a particular area to declare a concentration) Students may enter any time during the year and work at their own pace, which may be for a shorter or longer time period than the estimates shown above. Students, however, will be added to the graduating class during the year of their completion if all work is finished and all tuition and fees are paid.

14 DIVISION OBJECTIVES The students who complete this program will meet the objectives of the Divisions of Bible/Theology/Ministry and expected to demonstrate ability in the following competencies: Division Objectives: 1. Demonstrate a working knowledge of the Bible and essential Christian doctrine, its geography and history. 2. Develop the skills and understanding necessary for personal Bible study, prayer and devotional life that can sustain and empower one s personal life and ministry to others. 3. Demonstrate a commitment to Biblical, moral and ethical values. 4. Demonstrate the ability to minister to others in your own cultural and across cultural boundaries, utilizing appropriate technology and relevant forms of both written and verbal communication. 5. Demonstrate perseverance and commitment, and the ability to work productively independently and in teams. 6. Actively pursue and progress in a life- long process of personal spiritual development by nurturing a relationship with God, connecting in Christian community, growing in moral integrity, and engaging in vocational service in light of giftedness. Develop, evaluate, and administer curriculum in the church educational program and to serve as a resource person in the area of curriculum. Enable others to worship, witness, teach, minister, motivate and apply Christian faith in life and to imitate and administer programs in these areas. Commit to, engage in, and equip others for the disciple- making process of evangelism, edification, counseling, and leadership development.

15 DEGREE PROGRAMS Biblical Studies This program is designed to challenge the student to Biblical scholarship survey of each book and an in depth study of the culture and context of scripture. Certificate, Associates, Bachelor and Master Degrees Programs are being offered. Ministry This program is designed for those students seeking certification and ordination for ministry leadership. This program integrates principles of Bible Study and proclamation. This program reflects a serious commitment enhancing the student s competence as practical theologians. Certificate, Associates, Bachelor, and Master Degree Programs are being offered. Christian Counseling This program is designed for student to explore and understand what it takes to nurture, impart, guide and correct God s people who are in need of spiritual counseling. It is not designed to serve as a mechanism of advice, only to flow as the Holy Spirit gives guidance through the holy writ of God. Certificate, Associates, Bachelor, and Master Degree Programs are being offered. Leadership This program is designed for students who are called to be leaders in ministry. It has been designed to help students understand what it costs, what is required, what is needed, and how to live as a leader of integrity and character. It is designed to help those already serving in Leadership, fine tune their service to the kingdom, by introducing them to the Servant Leader, himself, Jesus Christ. Certificate, Associates, Bachelor, and Master Degree Programs are being offered.

16 Course Descriptions (Due to the College class sizes, a student may take any combination of classes to acquire the needed credit hours for their Degree of Interest to meet the qualifications for Graduation) Biblical Studies BS100 CHRISTIANITY THROUGH THE YEARS This class describes the leadership of past generations and how revivals have been squelched within the church itself. This is an insightful, historical view of God s move in the Spirit. BS101 CHURCH HISTORY I This is the first of two parts, form the early church up to but not covering Luther, it covers: Jesus and the Apostles, the age of Catholic Christianity, the age of the Christian Roman Empire, and the middle ages. BS102 CHURCH HISTORY II This course is a history on the Church in plain language which covers: Lutheranism, Protestantism, the age of reason and revival, the age of progress, a Christian in America, the age of ideologies, and the medieval & modern Church. BS103 WHAT YOU BELIEVE This course is a study to answer is there a God? Is Christian rational? Do Science and Scripture agree? Does Christianity really differ from other world religions? These are not only the questions of your heart but also some of the chapter titles of this book. If you have found yourself asking similar questions about Christianity, you need to know that Christian faith and reason are compatible

17 BS104 UNDERSTANDING THE FOUNDATION OF MINISTRY This course is based on the Salvation and Foundation ministry for the Mount Calvary Church. It teaches the fundamentals of the church to help new members understand how the ministry operates. BS105 INTRODUCTION TO THE OLD TESTAMENT This is a survey of the entire OT. It focuses on prophecies and underlying themes, background, key scriptures and analysis of the times and authors for each of the books from Genesis to Malachi. BS106 INTRODUCTION TO THE GOSPELS AND ACTS Jesus, The Four Gospels and The Acts of the Apostles - This survey reviews the four books of the Gospel, from Matthew to John, and the book of Acts. It covers the life and times of Jesus, and explains the circumstances of the Church during the writing of the New Testament. BS107 INTRODUCTION TO THE EPISTLES AND REVELATION This is an overview of all the epistles from Romans to Jude and Revelation. These chief apostolic writings include ministry as establisher as well as encouragement while in prison. BS108 KNOWING AND DOING THE WILL OF GOD This course will show believers how to know Him intimately while encouraging them to step out in faith and join Him in His work with miraculous results. BS109 THE MINISTRY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT This course will show believers everywhere how to develop a close, personal friendship with God through the Holy Spirit. Believers will walk away refreshed and full in spirit as they begin this life- changing friendship.

18 BS110 WHAT IS SALVATION This course will explain God's ultimate gift to His children. It offers an in- depth look at the most fundamental element of the Christian faith. From defining the essentials of salvation to explaining the result of Christ's sacrifice, this course walks readers through the spiritual meaning, motives, application, and eternal result of God's work of salvation in our lives. BS111 BIBLICAL ETHICS This course presents the biblical view in today s culture and the ethical choices facing our nation. Abortion, homosexuality, pollution, obscenity, divorce and more are covered. This class helps you to prepare to help others in very specific ways in these post modern times. BS112- UNDERSTANDING STRONGHOLDS Strongholds are imaginary castles, lofty things, high barriers that separate us from the knowledge of God. You will learn: how the enemy uses lies and deception to build strongholds; how to recognize and destroy strongholds in your life; how to prevent strongholds from forming in the first place; and how to help your loved ones get free from the illusion of bondage. BS113- PURSUING HIS PRESENCE You hunger to live in the presence of God. You yearn to know the Father's heart in an intimate way. You desire revelation and passionate encounters with the Almighty. You long to spend time in the Secret Place, getting to know the Father in a deeper way. This class will lead you into that place of revelation, the place that will satisfy your hunger for more of God. BS114- GOD S CHARACTER This class is for those desiring to know God and His fullness. Learn about God's Infinitude, Immensity, Goodness, Justice, Mercy, Grace, Omnipresence, Immanence, Holiness, and Perfection. BS115- WATCHING & PRAYING This course is a prayer journey that will transform your life. Answering this call to battle is not for the faint of heart, but for those who truly want to make a difference for the Kingdom of God in their world. Learn how you can access and demonstrate the power of watching and praying.

19 Counseling CN200 MARRIAGE COUNSELING This class includes pre- counseling engaged couples as well as analyzing temperaments, moderating remarriage procedures and special problems such as interracial challenges and dysfunctional marriages. CN201 HEALING AND WHOLENESS It is an exploration of the methods of praying for physical, emotional and spiritual healing. The purpose of this class is to equip believers to minister to others in a complete manner, sensitively in the Spirit. CN202 INTRODUCTION TO CHRISTIAN COUNSELING This overview course covers all the basic areas of Christian counseling. It covers many conditions from anxiety to violent behavior. It gives a background for counseling ethics, law, goals and crisis intervention. It truly is a foundational study that every counselor needs. CN203 FAMILY COUNSELING There are many transitions for the family today and this course deals with the changing issues. It deals with: dual earner families, parenting children with special needs, domestic violence, single parents, step families, teenage troubles, sudden job loss, and care for the aged, infertility, the homeless, and more. CN204 DELIVERANCE COUNSELING This study reviews the basic elements that hinder people in counseling. It gives counselors methods to accomplish deliverance for their clients; deliverance from past hurts, and satanic efforts to destroy. CN205 TEEN COUNSELING Have you seen the effects of this confusing culture on your teen? Do you ever wonder if today's teen culture will affect your child? Are you as confused trying to navigate in these waters called adolescence? This course gives solid insight and

20 practical wisdom as to how to approach your teen during the time of their life that they need you the most. CN206 PARENTAL COUNSELING The course teaches us that somewhere in the business of life many of us have forgotten- or perhaps weren't even taught- the basics of good parenting and our kids are suffering for it. We have good intentions, but daily frustrations and ongoing struggles might be evidence that we were better prepared to drive a car or pursue our career than raise children. Helpful follow- up exercises and questions along the way reinforce solid parenting skills and provide a foundation for developing your own family plan. CN207 BIBLICAL COUNSELING This class defines that God s Word is the only true counseling authority, that counseling is a part of the basic discipling ministry of the local church, and that God s ministers need to be trained in using it. CN208- WOMEN COUNSELING (DOD) This course is an in- depth study of wounded women. As members learn about women in the Bible and embrace who you they are in Christ, they will be transformed from broken and hurting women into daughters of divinity. CN209- BREAKING FREE A study of selected passages from the book of Isaiah, drawing several parallels between the captive Israelites and today s Christians, in order to show how to make freedom in Christ a daily reality. Moore teaches readers to remove obstacles that hinder freedom by identifying spiritual strongholds in their lives and overcoming them through the truth of God s Word truth that will set us free. CN210- OBTAINING VICTORY OVER THE STORMS This course equips believers to do battle with the enemies of God. Participants learn biblical teaching about deliverance ministry and how to operate in the realm of victory over the kingdom of darkness through signs and wonders.

21 CN211- HEALED WITHOUT SCARS This course deals with emotional healing for those who have you been hurt by past disappointment, fear, rejection, abandonment, or failure? When pain from the past lingers in your life and causes emotional scars, you need to understand that God wants you to be fully healed. Learn how to live in victory and to obtain a joyful life of wholeness in Christ. CN212- UNDERSTANDING THE REAL YOU This course teaches us that we ll only find our real selves by shedding all the layers of institutionalized belief, dogma and practice that we pile on in life eschewing ritualized adherence in favor of a deeper, more spiritual view of the world and ourselves. When we become unburdened by society s expectations, we are free to experience true joy, more capable of tapping into our own genius, and more likely to attract abundance and prosperity in all areas of our lives. CN213- SPIRITUAL TRANSFORMATION This class ministers to those dealing with low- esteem as they study how God transforms Biblical characters marked by scandal, deceit, intrigue, and shame into usable vessels. CN214- STUDY OF BROKENNESS A course designed for the many Christians who have experienced pain, loss, and heartache at the hands of other believers. Learning about David s, Saul s, and Absalom s lives offer comfort, healing, and hope.

22 Ministry MIN300 SOUL WINNING This is an evangelism class: the harvest is for souls. This class focuses on your witness to God and to your community. It teaches how to build relationships and reap souls for Jesus. MIN301 IDENTIFYING GOD S VOICE This course explains how God speaks to us and through us today in prophecy: the gift we are told to pray for above all things: how prophecy works in hearing God s voice & the responsibility and balance. MIN302 SPIRITUAL GIFTS This course covers the gifts of the Spirit and the callings of the believer. It helps Christians understand their personal gifts and defines how, through the gifts of the Spirit, the Body of Christ works together. There is a placement test that will identify particular inclinations for each person. MIN303 MINISTRY OF INTERCESSION If God is all- powerful, why does He need us to pray? MIN306 PERSONAL EMPOWERMENT This course enlightens that we all have a belief system whether that belief system affects our daily lives as we interact with our families or as we live and function in our communities, providing outreach or service through our respective jobs or even just dropping in to the local diner for that cup of coffee weekly or getting our hair cut at the same place every month we have that core. MIN307 UNDERSTANDING WORSHIP This course reviews methods of worship including introduction to worship, praise, Abraham s worship, warfare and worship, healing and worship, the Holy Spirit and worship, giving in worship, prophetic worship, David s tabernacle of worship and more. MIN308 FINANCING YOUR MINISTRY This course reviews methods whether you are experienced at fundraising or just starting out, Funding Your Ministry will help answer your questions and put you on the biblical path for recruiting and maintaining donor support. MIN309 THE REVELATION OF FASTING AND PRAYER The course is designed to help believers understand that the praying believer is the confident believer. But the fasting believer is the overcoming believer. This course is designed to inspire readers to tap into God's power and change their lives, their cities, and their nation! MIN310 UNDERSTANDING DREAMS This course provides an insightful and helpful handbook to this fascinating and little- known world. It is an extensive study and filled with insights of walking in the dream realm.
