1 Bethany Presbyterian Church Graham, North Carolina.bethanypreschurch.org.facebook.com/bethanypresbyterian July 15, :00 am Eighth Sunday after Pentecost You are the salt of the earth. But if salt loses its saltiness, ho ill it become salty again? It s good for nothing except to be thron aay and trampled under people s feet. You are the light of the orld. A city on top of a hill can t be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a basket. Instead, they put it on top of a lampstand, and it shines on all ho are in the house. Matthe 5:13-15 (CEB) GATHERING AS GOD S PEOPLE PREPARATION FOR WORSHIP Today s message juxtaposes nominal, lazy religion that may attend church or assent to certain beliefs ithout affecting the hole of one s heart and life. Good religion impacts our behavior and priorities seven days a eek and shines forth in passionate faith that shares the gospel ithout even using ords. TRINITY CHIMES PRELUDE: Morning Song J. Much orse, e break your heart hen e point the finger at those ho are different from us; hen e gossip about our friends and neighbors; hen e think everything is all about us. Forgive us, Loving God. We long to kno your ays, so open our ears to hear those ords e alays ignore. We search for you each day, so open our eyes to your onders so e may see them ane. We are a community of believers, called by God to WORSHIP, SERVE, TEACH, and SUPPORT.

I believe in Jesus Christ, God s only Son, our Lord, ho as conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, as crucified, died, and as buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he ill come to judge the living and the dead. Do you believe in God the Holy Spirit?
