3 A Natural Born Leader (Leadership) Deborah Mom Dad I also have a little sister, Carol, and a little brother, Caleb. (I m in charge of them!) I can do everything through him who gives me strength. (Philippians 4:13) I want to be the president of the United States because then I could help a lot of people. Plus, I d practically be in charge of a whole country! a dog and two cats playing soccer playing chess with my dad helping my mom when she teaches Sunday school Deborah is my favorite, because I m named after her. She was one of the first judges in Israel. That means she was a leader. She also led Israel in a battle they won. You can find her story in the book of Judges, chapters four and five. 5

4 Teach Us to Pray (Teaching) Martha Mom and Dad I have three little brothers named Stephen, Patrick, and Andrew. They are triplets and are five years old. I want to be a teacher in a foreign country. I would teach people how to speak and write English while I learn more about their culture. I don t have any pets. I like to play school with my brothers. My mom let us set up a room in the basement like a classroom. I m the teacher, and they are the students. I like Samuel the most because he was a student who became a teacher. First, he learned from Eli. Then, the kings of Israel learned from him. Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. (Psalm 25:4-5) 6

5 Fishing for Friends (Evangelism) John Dad Mom and a stepfather one older sister, Pam a younger stepbrother, Neal a German shepherd at my dad s house two hermit crabs at my mom s house I like John the Baptist. I m named after him. Plus, I like talking about Jesus, just like John did. Come, follow me, Jesus said, and I will make you fishers of men. (Matthew 4:19) I want to be a sports doctor who teaches athletes how to avoid getting hurt, but who can also fix them if they do get hurt. bike riding with my friends 7

6 Say the Word (Preaching) Paul Mom and Dad I have a bunch, but they are all fish. I have a ton of them, so I can t tell you all of their names without being able to see them. A Hobby is definitely NOT cleaning the fish tank. I like putting on plays with all of my friends. The one I like the most is Jesus, because even though He could do miracles, He still used words to tell people about God. This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words. (1 Corinthians 2:13) I want to be a pastor of a church or be a Sunday school teacher. 8

7 A New Song to Sing (Creative Expression) Miriam Dad and Mom Nancy, my older sister Aaron, my cousin who lives with us Conrad, my parrot singing in the church choir drawing listening to music I like David, because he wasn t just a king; he wrote a lot of songs, plus he played an instrument and sang. My favorite is almost anything in the book of Psalms, but I ll pick: Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. (Psalm 95:1) I want to be an opera singer like the one I saw on television. They get to wear great costumes and sing really loud. I also want to be the leader of my church choir and help people sing and learn how fun it is. 9

8 Two or More (Discipleship) Peter Mom Dad (but he is in heaven) younger brother, Jamie I wouldn t mind being a basketball coach for a school because then I could be a teacher, too. none playing basketball in the park teaching my little brother how to do things like ride a bike, read, or use the computer hanging around with my friends I like Daniel and his three friends because I have three best friends, and so I think of us whenever we read that part of the Bible. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them. (Matthew 18:20) 10
