Since then it has been renamed Ladies Aide Society in 1920, then WSCS (Women s Society of Christian Service) in the 1930 s and finally in 1973 United Methodist Women still supporting missionaries and caring for Women, Youth and children of the world. SUMC... On the Move Do you enjoy walking, biking, swimming, golfing, and other activities with others or by yourself? To continue the promotion of a healthy church, an additional component of the SUMC Faith Community Nursing Program will kick off on Sunday, July 2nd. It will be called SUMC... On the Move! Participants will log activities of their choosing on a monthly calendar with a goal of 150 minutes per week. All ages are welcome!

4 The Finance Committee (with the blessing of the Administrative Council) has decided to move ahead with creating an account with Vanco Payment Solutions. The General Council on Finance & Administration for the Methodist Church has approved Vanco Services to provide a secure electronic giving service. This will allow individuals to sign up for recurring gifts or to make a one time donation using an App on their cell phone. Pastor Robert (at previous churches) and many other churches have shown an increase in giving using this service. There is a small transaction fee that will be charged to the church. We do currently have electronic transfer available through our bank, at no charge, if you are interested in setting that up. Look for more information to come in the following weeks. MISSION TRIP 2017 PINE RIDGE SOUTH DAKOTA The Faith Community Nursing Ministry Team is celebrating the completion of their 1st year in service! So far, 95 of you have participated in our Second Sunday Blood Pressure Events and over half of you have altered your lifestyles and followed up with your primary physician to improve your health! Well done!! We have also provided over 500 hours in respite care visits, hospital visits and home visits. We look forward to continuing our monthly blood pressure screenings, respite, home and hospital visits. We will also be promoting additional healthy, spiritual and social activities and continuing to practice our mission of helping persons of faith combine their mental, physical, and spiritual health to achieve wholeness in this next year. Caring Ministry-FCN Team Thanks to our Mission Team for a successful trip to Pine Ridge. They fixed trailer skirting, outhouse building and delivered and set-up bunk beds. Thanks to Thrivent for donating gift cards to pay for gas and a U-Haul. Foster Friends donated clothing. They will share on a Sunday in July.

6 Please complete the Walk-in-Faith form so we know what your interests are. We especially need to update our lists of who is willing to be an usher, greeter, liturgist or welcome center attendant. Being a greeter is a good way to get to know your church family members. If you haven t ushered before, we can put you with people that have. It is very easy: Hand out bulletins, hand out pew pads, pass the offering plate and someone needs to count church attendees. Usually the ushers are not responsible for communion. Collection Items for Facial Tissues July Canned Fruit Avery Elizabeth Shriver was baptized on June 11, Avery is the daughter of Joel & Rachel Shriver and granddaughter of Mike & Lori Shriver. Avery s great grandmother (Alice Shriver), a retired Lutheran pastor, poured the baptismal waters from a sea scallop shell and Pastor Robert marked Avery with the sign of the promise of God s love completing the baptism. Nebraska has been a major supporter of this orphanage since All women are invited to this event; even if you are not currently active in UMW.
