Local entity dis-owns materialism, excessive debt and/or culture of corruption 4. Local entity learns practical fundraising fundamentals.

15 Essential Foreign Elements 1. Foreign enoty sees the local partner as the owner and follows local, Holy Spirit-driven plan, including an exit strategy for foreign involvement 2. Foreign enoty places priority on relaoonship, not fixing a problem

Affirming feedback Leaning forward Ask sincere questions Not interrupting Ask: How did God call you into ministry? to understand their God-given vision and goals.

25 The question is not what will we do But how to listen to what the locals deem to be the most pressing issue and consider if that aligns with your calling. Do not become or allow a permanent benefactor; local participation empowers and brings spiritual growth. Stay as tough as Paul. End of TRA 9

26 Ways to help without hurting Ensure that Lifestyle Generosity is part of the discipleship process Identify what God has put in their hand in the way of skills, community resources (Tearfund) Give matching grants to items needed but out of reach Give partial scholarship funds to keeners

27 Change the question: From: Who has the most money that s who should give To, What has God given me to give towards his Kingdom? (Might not be money)

29 faith-reliance & inter-dependence Reviewing your plan: Take time to look at re-alignment to ensure that you are going for the long-term together. Not just about money! Dirty spokes? Damaged wheels? Rusty chain? Fresh grease needed?
