I praise you for who you are loving, merciful, powerful, and just. I praise you for the ways you act in creation creating beauty, bringing freedom, making peace, offering healing. Thank you for opportunities I will have today to glorify you in my words and actions. Thank you for this very day in which I am able to enjoy you by participating in your activity in the world. Help me to notice those whose cries for mercy so often go unheard or unanswered, for I am joined to them by being joined to you. 6 ANNOUNCEMENTS In Memoriam: Sylvester Thomas October 15, 2016 Heartfelt sympathy is extended to his family and friends. Answering God s Call to Give through Proportional Giving - As we approach the formal commitment of our stewardship pledges, you may still be discerning how best to show your appreciation for God s generosity. Proportional giving is a useful tool for answering that call to give. Proportional giving involves pledging to give a set percentage of one s income, rather than a basic dollar amount. This type of pledge encourages us to see, proportionally, how much of our income we are allocating to God s work. It can also allow for more prudent planning within a regular household budget. If you have yet to make your pledge, please prayerfully consider making a promise of proportional giving as a clear & faithful way to answer God s call to give. COTS East Cleveland Service Day is Saturday, November 5. See enclosed insert. Blood Pressure Screenings today in room 106 after each morning worship service. The youth will be taking orders for Christmas Greens in the parlor after worship services today and October 30. Orders may also be placed online at chsaviour.org with the option to pay by credit card. All proceeds benefit the Youth Mission Trip. Greens will be available for pick up on November 27. On Friday, October 14, 15 year-old Sunny Patel was killed as he worked at his family s business, Mr. Hero Restaurant in Cleveland Heights. This afternoon, there will be a community interfaith prayer vigil in memory of Sunny. You are invited to attend at 1:30 p.m. in the parking lot in front of Mr. Hero, 1923 South Taylor Road (near Cain Park). Church Women United We are collecting personal care items for North Coast Behavioral Care Center including full-size toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, shampoo, lotion, soaps, playing cards, tissues, socks, small writing pads, and combs.
