1 Kingdom Chronicles Dear Sons and Daughters of Zion, June is here! It s the time for warm temperatures, fun in the sun and yes, an even closer relationship with our God. Although we think of summer as a time of vacationing, we should continue to seek ye first the Kingdom. We must continue to draw closer to God. Summer is a needed time of rest and relaxation for many people. This break from the various responsibilities of home, work, or school is a good thing. However, there is no such thing as a vacation or a leave-of-absence from your responsibilities as a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus told his disciples, Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while. Mark 6:31. This call also applies to presentday disciples. Even though your life in Christ is supernatural - it s not superhuman. If you do All of us need times of rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation. But remember that Christ s call to His disciples to come away was a call to go with Him to rest, not to go without Him. So Vacation with Christ - Rest. in Christ have Fun in Christ. Here are several ways you can make sure your vacation time is that of a Kingdom Citizen. Be marked present in corporate worship on the Lord s Day. We urge you to find a Christ-centered, Bible-believing church to worship God in on His Day, no matter where you are. Don t rob God. Proverbs 3:9 says Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the first fruits of all your produce. Your vacation should not be an excuse to dishonor God with your finances. Enjoy yourself, but remember the ministry of the church continues while you are on vacation. Continued on page VOLUME 6

2 Greeting Continued... eternal significance. Use some of that extra time to pray a little more. Take some time while relaxing on the beach to read the Word of God. Enjoy yourself! Have a good time on your vacation. Enjoy God s goodness to you. Don t feel guilty about it and don t let others lay a guilt trip on you. God is not against you having a good time! 1Timothy 6:17 tells us that God richly provides us with everything to enjoy. God is the ultimate source of every good and perfect gift. We pray that you will enjoy the blessings of the Lord, the grace of life, the fruit of your labor, the opportunity to travel, and the company of family and friends. But make sure you keep pleasure in its place. 1 Corinthians 10:31 says, So, then, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. They include : Watercress, Turnips, Swiss chard, Mustard greens, kale, Collards cabbage, brussel sprouts, broccoli and cauliflower. Remember when preparing these cancer fighting foods boiling for more than 10 minutes can remove some cancer fighting nutrients. Remember to stay healthy.
