2 From the Desk of Bishop Thomas S. Lee, Jr. We are Still under an Agenda of Righteousness with the sincere desire to be found worthy of the vocation wherewith we are called. As we look back over the 28 years of development and years of service, we have been subjected to many positive, as well as negative experiences. For many of these experiences which we take great pride and great pleasure we are sincerely appreciative to God for divine favor, He has granted. However, we must do as directed by Paul in I Corinthians the 11 th chapter Examine ourselves. In doing so, we must look at the negative, adverse and/or not so pleasing experiences and strive to determine how and why they occurred, with the sole intent of identifying and correcting any adverse outcomes for which we are intentionally and/or unintentionally responsible. We realize that the success that we have had and shall continue to have in ministry is contingent on divine favor and thus we, as stated in our confession, apologize and repent for all infractions and/or perceived infractions against God and hereby surrender to all precepts, rules, regulations and/or expectations of God. Our anniversary scripture in 2014 is I Corinthians 13:13, And now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. This should make us acutely aware that with God we are more than conquerors but without God we are already defeated. For in Him we live, move and have our being. Thus to survive and to perform and/or to provide expected services, we must have Jesus in our lives without compromises. He is love, our joy, our life. We are reminded that we shall love with the love of our Savior so that we may experience unspeakable joy, living our theme for 2015, JOY: Galatians 5:22-26 states, "But the spirit produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility, and self-control. There is no Law against such things as these." Love and Joy should be looked at sincerely, discreetly, and advisedly as we strive to be Change Agents in these challenging and difficult times. Love is an instrument that can help us secure and guarantee a life of eternal bliss, joy, and happiness with Christ. For ultimate Joy, you must be inclusive of: J Jesus O Others Y Yourself In conclusion, we are sincerely and eternally grateful to God Almighty; to all of you the EBONites, to family, to friends, kindred and loved ones of EBONites; and any and all others that have assisted and supported our endeavors to provide services for and to this challenged society and we pray God s rich and continued blessings on you as you allow the joy of the Lord to be your strength. 3 Confession The Bible the infallible and true word of God is my guide for life. Every act and/or action in which I engage shall be done according to God s Holy word. I, at this very moment and every moment here afterwards for the remainder of life, apologize and repent for all infractions and/or perceived infractions against God and hereby surrender to all precepts, rules, regulations, and/or expectations of God. I, at this very moment, cast down imaginations and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God and bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. I denounce all relationships with negative and satanic spirits and declare Jesus as ruler and Lord of my life. I am more than a conqueror. I am a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people, determined to show forth praises to him who hath called me out of darkness into his marvelous light. I am all that the word of God says I am and I refuse to be robbed of anything documented in my will, The Word of God, that God says I shall have. John 3 There is something about the name Jesus The sweetest name I know. My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am become sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal. Celebrate the power of love Love, Jesus Style. You will be glad you did. 8 Partners in Prayer John Maxwell wrote in his book, Partners in Prayer, "In the summer of 1876, grasshoppers nearly destroyed the crops in Minnesota. So in the spring of 1877, farmers were worried. They believed that the dreadful plague would once again visit them and again destroy the rich wheat crop, bringing ruin to thousands of people. The situation was so serious that Governor John S. Pillsbury proclaimed April 26 as a day of prayer and fasting. He urged every man, woman and child to ask God to prevent the terrible scourge. On that April day all schools, shops, stores and offices were closed. There was a reverent, quite hush over all the state. The next day dawned bright and clear. Temperature soared to what they ordinary were in mid-summer, which was very unusual for April. Minnesotans were devastated as they discovered billions of grasshopper larvae wiggling to life. For 3 days the unusual heat persisted, and the larvae hatched. It appeared that it wouldn't be long before they started feeding and destroying the wheat crop. On the fourth day, however the temperature suddenly dropped, and that night frost, covered the entire state. Result - It killed every one of those creeping, crawling pests as surely as if poison or fire had been used. It went down in the history of Minnesota as the day God answered the prayers of the people." This is an awesome story! God surely answer prayers but unfortunately some Christians are not praying enough. Ever wonder why? That's because their minds and hearts are not completely in tune with God. 6 This story will move you. Neil Orchard was talking with a farmer about his soy bean and corn crops. Rain had been abundant, and the results were evident. So his comment surprised him: "My crops are especially vulnerable. Even a short drought could have a devastating effect." "Why?" Orchard asked. He explained that while we see the frequent rains as a benefit, during that time the plants are not required to push roots deeper in search of water. The roots remain near the surface. A drought would find the plants unprepared and quickly kill them. Some Christians receive abundant "rains" of worship, fellowship, and teaching. Yet when stress enters their lives, many suddenly abandon God or think of Him as unfaithful. Their roots have never pushed much below the surface. Bottom line is only roots grown deep into Jesus Christ help us endure times of drought in our lives. From Don and Dawn Will of the Father: What does God want?
