1 Hal Hallett My primary interest is to help St. Timothy s continue to meet the needs of both the parish family and the larger Herndon community. I strongly support our many outreach activities, and wish to see these continue. I would also like to continue being part of the process and solution to make sure that St. Timothy s remains relevant in a changing world. Currently serving in a one-year term as the Alternate Member of the St. Timothy s vestry. Previous service on a vestry at St. Paul s Episcopal Church in Yuma, AZ and on a college student vestry. Primary gifts include administrative and managerial skills developed in over 40 years career work in both federal and state (CA) service along with volunteer work for a variety of non-profits. Work well in a team environment where all members are committed to reaching consensus in accomplishing objectives. Participated on a mission trip to the Pine Ridge Reservation. Currently serve as an usher and help with miscellaneous service projects. Former choir member at Trinity Episcopal Church, Manassas.

2 Clara Diaz I feel that it should be a priority to attract more Spanish speaking members and get more people involved in all of the different church activities to achieve the mission of St. Timothy s. I have been an active member of St. Timothy s since I have served as a greeter. I believe that I can work with all members of the St. Timothy s community.

3 Brian Flusche The thing that drew me to St. Timothy s and has kept me here is the incredibly warm sense of community. However, the bonds of community are only as strong as we choose to make them. With that in mind, and having taken stock of the many blessings God has given me, I feel called to give more of my time and experience to serving our church family. Given circumstances in the local area, I believe St. Timothy s is in the midst of a huge opportunity for growth, and I want to help shape that path. Specifically, since I originally joined St. Timothy s in 2011, I still remember what it was like to be a newcomer and what drew me to St. Timothy s. In addition, as the parent of a young child, I want to ensure that opportunities are available to help my son grow up as a man of faith. Finally, I want to ensure that the different ministries leverage the diverse talent pool present in our congregation and unify our efforts to serve others. I think my leadership and experience would be a valuable asset to the Vestry. As an Air Force officer, I ve honed my public speaking and communication skills. While studying for my PhD, I learned to tackle difficult, ill-defined problems by identifying the crucial underlying driving issues and planning a structure to address them. As a program manager, I ve led diverse teams to develop solutions to difficult problems under time and budget constraints. My current assignment at the Pentagon involves strategic planning, allocating scarce resources to solve a prioritized list of problems. I ve also gleaned valuable experience from other members of our church during my work with many different aspects of the St. Timothy s family, from serving on the finance and stewardship committees to helping with the Angel Tree and other service ministry activities.

4 Vilma Iveth Lemus Magano I was born in 1985 in Las Marias Jocoro, Department of Morazon, El Salvador. My first years of schooling were at the Jose Dolores Touza Children s Home. My subsequent elementary education took place at the Albert Einstein School in the city of San Miguel, El Salvador. I attended middle school at the Pablo J. Aguirre School and received a technical diploma from the San Miguel Lyceum Institute. I immigrated to the United States in September of 2005 and I am currently enrolled at the South Lakes Transitional High School in Reston, Virginia studying English as a second language. I am the mother of two boys ages seven and three. As an active member of St. Timothy s since 2012, I have been heavily involved with the Hispanic community of this congregation. I was one of the original families involved in the foundation of the Hispanic Community at St. Timothy s along with Father Natividad Menjivar. I have always taken a leadership position, helping Father Nati with the religious education for the children and young men, as well as helping to man the nursery when needed. Assisting with the liturgy, from the onset of the Spanish Mass at St. Timothy s, I have continued to be involved in most of the religious activities of St Timothy s Hispanic community after Father Nati s transfer from the Diocese of Virginia to the Diocese of Oklahoma. I presently serve as the secretary for the Hispanic community at St Timothy s. I also continue to support the Reverend Leslie during the Spanish Mass, and through my strong leadership position help in the Hispanic ministry of St. Timothy s. In addition, my son, Gustavo, has served as an acolyte since the inception of the Spanish services. I welcome the opportunity to serve on the Vestry as I consider myself to be a good fit to liaise between the St. Timothy s congregation and the Hispanic community. I feel my background and successful transition into St. Timothy s church family would serve as an excellent example to new comers who are searching for a place to worship and a family in Christ.

5 Genevieve Zetlan I served a previous term on the Vestry from , and now that my youngest (Sara) is in elementary school, I feel that I once again have the time and energy to devote to serving St. Tim s in this capacity. I believe St. Tim s faces a number of challenges over the coming three years: ongoing declines in giving/pledging, the upcoming absence of the organ for a year and a half, and the eventual retirement of our Rector. I feel my skills and talents can be employed best at this time to assist the church with these challenges. Technological acumen: I am currently the webmaster and maintain St. Timothy s lists, MailChimp, YouTube, and Facebook accounts, and during my last term on Vestry, implemented online credit card giving. Communication skills: I am a graphic designer/marketing professional by trade, and have used these skills in the past to help with Stewardship campaign materials, Haiti Agape promotions, and the GTGTL kickoff. I am the editor of The Word, and believe that maintaining open and positive Vestry-congregation communications will be integral to a strong church over the coming three years. Theological understanding: I completed the four year course of EfM and then mentored the class for 3 years. I helped start the Godly Play and SPARK+ Sunday School classes and continue to teach both, designed and teach 1-2 times a year the What is an Episcopalian? class, and am a Licensed Lay Preacher. I believe it is vital as we make decisions about the church s operation to have at the forefront an understanding of scripture and discernment of what we are being called to do. Historical context: I have been actively involved in St. Timothy s for 14 years, including starting and serving on the Open Arms ministry, starting the bread delivery for newcomers, playing handbells for 10 years, serving on Communications, going to Pine Ridge Indian Reservation and Haiti, regularly attending Wednesday morning Bible Study, and teaching Vacation Bible School each year. My daughter is an acolyte, and my son is on the Altar Guild. I believe this gives me a perspective on many components of our service to each other and the world, and an understanding of the role of the Vestry in operating the church and helping to build up the ministries.
