The chaos of a fallen world doesn t signal end times. As His witnesses, God will give His people the right words to defend themselves. Once the signs of the end times begin, Jesus return will happen quickly. Believers should watch and wait for Jesus return, not distracted by life s circumstances. Lessons about the future can us or scare us. As you look to the future, be on guard and stay. Lessons from Jesus Betrayers Luke 22:1-6 Even enemies and rivals can be united by corrupt motives and evil desires. Satan lurks and waits, hoping to enlist others in his schemes. Despite the existence of evil, Jesus triumphs. Personal ambition and motives are ingredients for in your relationship with God. As a servant in God s kingdom, always check your motives. Lessons from the Last Supper Luke 22:7-38 Jesus will not eat the Passover again until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God. The new covenant will be ushered in by Jesus death and ratified by His blood. The Lord s Supper is instituted by Jesus as a memorial celebration. The rising sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light. Isaiah 34:4 All the stars in the sky will be dissolved and the heavens rolled up like a scroll; all the starry host will fall like withered leaves from the vine, like shriveled figs from the fig tree. Ephesians 2:8,9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works so that no one can boast. Philippians 1:21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. 1 Peter 5: 8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Hebrews 2:14 Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by His death, He might break the power of him who holds the power of death that is the devil- and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death. Colossians 2:15 And having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. Revelation 19:9 Then the angel said to me, Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb! John 1:29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! Jeremiah 31:31-34 The days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and with the people of Judah. It will not be like the covenant I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they broke my covenant, though I was a husband to them, declares the Lord. This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God and they will be my people. No longer will they teach their neighbor, or say to one another, Know the Lord, because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord. I Corinthians 11:25,26 In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying this cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me. For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord s death until he comes. End times refresher: 1.
