1 Crossroads Community International Bible Institute NT205 Romans & Galatians Home Study Mr. Phil Charpentier Fall 2017 COURSE DESCRIPTION: The Apostle Paul s letter to the Romans stands as the clearest and perhaps most definitive presentation of Christian doctrine in all the Scriptures. Paul begins by discussing that which is most easily observable in the world the sinfulness of all humanity. But God, in His grace, offers us justification by faith in His Son, Jesus Christ, because of what Christ did on the cross at Calvary. Paul makes it clear that the believer s pursuit of God doesn t stop at justification; it continues as each of us is sanctified as we persist in following Him, and why we need the Holy Spirit in this process. Paul also argues that the Mosaic Law cannot save, only point to our need for a Savior, and answers the question many ask even today, what is the future of Israel? Paul wraps up this epistle by showing us practical examples on how we are to live out our Christian faith in everyday life. The book of Galatians is sometimes considered a short Romans as both books exhibit similar themes. In this epistle, Paul is amazed that some Galatians are so quick to fall away from the faith, and follow false teachers who want to pervert the gospel of Christ. As Paul defends the gospel, he expresses the common argument found in both letters, The Just Shall Live by Faith. Join us as we study these 2 epistles. They will increase your knowledge of Scripture, enrich your Christian walk, and help you to be able to defend the truth of God s Word in today s world. COURSE GOALS: At the successful completion of this course the student should be able to: 1. Understand the major themes of Romans & Galatians. 2. See the utter hopelessness of mankind from God s viewpoint. CCIBI Syllabus NT205 Romans & Galatians - Home Study Page 1 of 5
