1 Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom should I send? Who will go for Us? Then I said, Here am I. Send me! Isaiah 6:8
2 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, Whom shall I send? And who will go for us? And I said, Here am I. Send me! Our culture today is so fixed on what we deserve. What is in it for me? What do I gain out of it? God calls us to live radically different. Instead of being self absorbed, grasping and clambering up the ladder of success, God has asked us to live for Him and for others. Instead of living your life pursuing the latest phone, the fastest car, the biggest house, the latest must have or-whatever, God calls us to first and foremost to pursue a relationship with Him. Instead of being sucked into to our media saturated, God dishonoring, tolerant society, take time to plant the Word of God deep into your heart. Learn. Grow. Act. Go. Learn Learn more about the Bible and ministry life through five 3-credit University courses as well as other assigned reading. Grow Grow in your relationship to God through times of prayer, worship and reading His Word. There will also be discipleship/mentoring sessions with mentors in the congregation and the pastors of Chilliwack Alliance Church. Act There will be opportunities to serve and be involved in a variety of ways in the Young Adult ministry, and in other ministries this church offers. You will see what it means to build up the local church and you will have the chance to participate in several ministries in the church on Sunday mornings. Go You will be involved with local outreach as well as having the opportunity to participate in a missions trip to one of the areas Chilliwack Alliance Church is involved.
3 Frequently Asked Questions What is the Internship? An internship at Chilliwack Alliance Church that runs from mid August 2017 through April 2017, involving study, service and mentoring by individuals and pastors all in a group setting. Who is Internship at Chilliwack Alliance Church for? If you are years old and want to grow in your faith, increase in your knowledge of Scripture, or learn to serve within the local church then is for you. If you feel that God is perhaps calling you to full time pastoral ministry, or other ministry will give an opportunity to examine that calling in greater depth and detail. What God has for you is important to us! How many places are available? There will be four places available in the 2017/2018 internship year. They will be assigned to the first four complete applications received. What is the time commitment? Sunday mornings and Monday & Tuesday 8.30am till 4.30pm. There is also an expectation to attend Young Adults on Tuesday evenings from 7:30-9:30 pm. What do we study? You will do 5 fully accredited University courses via long distance. See attached list of possible courses. Will there be a chance for practical application? Yes. At least four hours a week will be spent in assisting church staff as they carry out the Great Commission of Jesus. Will I be mentored? Yes. You will have opportunities to be mentored by different staff members in the areas of ministry you are interested in. As well, an off-site mentor will also be involved in your life throughout the duration of the internship. How much does it cost? Basically nothing. The church is paying the bulk of costs involved. Your only cost is the purchase of text books. For the trip at the end of the internship, there will be some group fundraising and likely some personal costs. This is designed for you to be able to work throughout the year. How do I apply? Simply fill in the included registration form and return it to Pastor Holly at the church office. The deadline for registration is May 15, 2017.
