Hospitality 101: Making A Good First Impression This course will cover how to engage hospitality so that your church is a welcoming and friendly place that will transform guests to become committed members and disciples. First Steps for New Disciples How does the church assimilate new disciples into the church? What curriculum should be used and how can you connect them with other disciples? This course will answer these questions and address the issues that are necessary to equip the Lord s people in fulfilling the Great Commission to make disciples. Improving Your Wednesday Night Prayer and Bible Study - Why is Prayer Meeting not a priority for most church members? Why is Bible Study attendance declining? This course will offer relevant and practical ways the church can revitalize these crucial ministries within the church. 3 DIVISION 1: MINISTERIAL DEVELOPMENT 3301 Beatties Ford Road 12:40 pm- Who Moved My Pulpit? - This course will focus on how to lead change in the Church. Based on the book titled, Who Moved My Pulpit?, those entrusted with leading the Lord s people will examine and discuss an eight-stage roadmap for reaching a rapidly changing culture. Relevant Ministry for Reaching Millennials - This course will address specific ways ministry should be designed to reach the millennial generation. The millennial mindset, reaching millennials with the transforming power of the Gospel and keeping the millennial generation engaged in the church are just a few of the relevant topics that will be examined in this session. Pastoral Ministry What does a new pastor need to know? This course will focus on answering this question by examining the practical aspects of doing ministry and offering sound wisdom to help ministers avoid the many pitfalls of pastoring. Developing Personally as A Minister - It is difficult to minister to others when your well is dry. This course will address the need for those in ministry to replenish their well. It will give practical steps on how those called to minister to others can set goals to achieve personal growth spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically. Sermon Preparation Do you need more power in the pulpit? Then, this course is for you. It will cover the basic "how-to," step-by-step approach to powerful sermon development. Panel Discussion - Church leaders, pastors, and all who care about the church and desire to see it experience biblical growth will benefit from this panel discussion session. The panel discussion will offer practical tips about how to grow the church through tried and true methods to successful new trends. You will be motivated to be a next generation leader as you learn how God uses Competence, Courage, Clarity, Coaching, and Character to further His Kingdom. The Deacon Serving in the Local Church As leaders who care for people, this course will equip deacons with methods to improve communication, community, and relationships in the local church. The Trustee in the Local Church This course will discuss and give insight into several legal and financial aspects of the church to help the modern trustee. Making the Sunday School Lesson Relevant How can the Sunday School effectively reach this postmodern generation? This session is designed to equip teachers with the necessary skills and tools to wake their students up with relevant lessons that will speak to their human emotions and lives. 6 DIVISION 5: BIBLICAL AND GENERAL STUDIES 10:10 am 11:25 pm 12:40pm 10:10 am- The Mind of Christ Being Transformed into His Image This course will examine the characteristics, attitudes, habits, and behaviors of Jesus Christ and how Christ transforms you into His Image when they are applied to your life. Discerning the Voice of God The closer the relationship with God the more you hear His voice. Participants will become more familiar with the presence of the Holy Spirit in their lives as they examine His character, language, and tone of voice. Branding the Men s Ministry The top athletes have a brand. What is the brand of the men in the church? In this course, participants will discuss how to effectively organize a Men s Ministry. Also, special emphasis will be given to addressing ways to engage men in the church. Discipleship Material for Men s Ministry What s next, now that you have a group of men organized and interested in Christian growth? This course will review the Men s Ministry 33 Series Curriculum, designed to answer that question. Single Women in Ministry - How do you live as a sassy, single, and satisfied woman? This course will address these and other questions and issues that will strengthen the single woman of God so she can live a fulfilled life. The Armour of God This course will cover a study on the Armour of God, a discipleship study for Women s Ministry. Shaping the Next Generation of Men What qualities should we be trying to instill in young males and how do we help them to develop a clear vision of what it means to be a man. This course is designed to equip the church with practical ways to mentor the next generation of men. The Lasting Marriage Seminar - This workshop will discuss ways to ensure a lasting loving marriage. Three major principles will be considered: Closeness with God will lead to closeness with your spouse, work to love unconditionally, and how to keep lines of communication open. Power of Intercessory Prayer - Participants in this session will learn what it means to have a consistent prayer life and scriptural approaches to pray through the realities of life for others and themselves. Job Descriptions within the Local Church - This course will review the basic job descriptions of officers and leaders within the local church. Divorce Care: This course will give ministry strategies to help persons hope as they heal during and after divorce. The Church: Called to Promote Health - Participants in this workshop will leave with knowledge of the importance to take intentional steps to care for their own individual health, the health of their congregation, and the health of their community in order to be effective witnesses for God's glory. Directors of VBS will also have an opportunity to explore the 2017 curriculum from Lifeway, Standard, and Urban Ministry. Discipling and Counseling Children This course will help teachers who work with children K-5 in the church, Sunday School, and Children s Ministry know how to deal with issues these children face on a daily basis. Christian Education-Foundation for the Future This course will help C E Directors to develop a Christian Education Ministry that will revitalize the Church to effectively serve in the 21 st Century. Important areas that will be covered include, Christian Education as an Agent of Change, Discovering and Meeting the Spiritual Needs within the Congregation, and Equipping Leaders for Ministry.
