2 DAY 1 The Beginning Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God At the very beginning of all things is God! Is that the way it is in our lives? At the genesis of each day? Each decision? Each relationship? Each dollar spent? Is God at the beginning of every moment, or just in our day somewhere or somehow? Instead of guilt, or pride, let s start it with God. The first breath can be a breath of praise. The first thought can be towards God and His design for the day. The first words can be worship and adoration. What are some implications and applications for your life as a STEW- In the beginning God LOOK IT UP: Genesis 1:1 A STEWARD LEADER PRAYER: LORD, what do You want me to do

3 DAY 2 Identity Genesis 1:26 & 27 Let Us make humanity in Our Image Identity determines everything our thoughts, our beliefs, our words, our emotions, our desires and our actions. Our identity is a source of all the choices and decisions we make. So what about this OUR IMAGE thing? Well, one thing that is clear is that God is RELATIONSHIP. God not only is the source of all relationships, God is RELATIONSHIP. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are equal, eternal, powerful, and loving in every way. But the essence of our God is communion, union; RELA- TIONSHIP. So? Do our relationships reflect THE RELATIONSHIP? Do we form relationships around the communion of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit? Does our family and our faith-family look and sound like the union of THE RELATIONSHIP? Do our clubs, committees, boards and ministries resemble the qualities of the Trinity? What are some implications and applications for your life as a STEW- in Our image LOOK IT UP: Genesis 1:26 & 27

4 DAY 3 Blessed Genesis 1:28-31 and God blessed them We have food in our stomachs, clothes on our backs, roofs over our heads, and an automobile, we may even have more than one. We are in the top 5% of the most affluent people who have ever walked the earth. We have been blessed. But why? It appears that the blessing God gives is to lead the first humans to steward and multiply God s goodness so that His presence and reign cause all creation to flourish. So when we get a raise, develop a new skill, build new relationships, and/or make some forward progress in our lives do we see these things as God s blessings? Do these blessings lead us to steward and multiply God s goodness so that all can flourish? What are some implications and applications for your life as a STEW- God blessed them LOOK IT UP: Genesis 1:28-31

5 DAY 4 One Thing Philippians 3:13 & 14 but this one thing I do I am horrible at a grocery store. Not only do I not know where anything is, but there are also way, way, way too many options! And, too many good options! We have some dreams, some goals, and some great ideas. But is there ONE THING? What ONE THING pushes us forward, and pulls us along? What can we go after that is greater and more compelling that any circumstance and situation? What ONE THING inspires hope and gives energy and life to every moment? Paul figured it out. He found the greatest ONE THING. So how about us? Does our calendar reflect the best ONE THING? How about our relationships? Does our income and cash flow represent an astounding ONE THING? What are some implications and applications for your life as a STEW- this one thing I do LOOK IT UP: Philippians 3:13 & 14

6 DAY 5 God s Matthew 22:15 22 and to God, what is God s Caesar s image is on the coin. Andrew Jackson s image is on the $20 bill. Whose image is in and on us? There is clearly an uncomfortable conversation here concerning money and taxes. But Jesus just breaks through it with the real question for our lives. It is beyond who are we? It s Whose are we? Money? Thoughts? Talents? Relationships? Houses? Family? Faithfamily? Automobiles? Health? What do our lives look like if all of that is not really ours, but God s? What are some implications and applications for your life as a STEW- then give LOOK IT UP: Matthew 22:15 22

7 DAY 6 There Matthew 6:19 21 there your heart will be also We generally get this one confused. It s not where your heart is, that is where your treasure will be, but it is where your treasure is, that is where your heart really is. We want to believe that our hearts lead our treasures, but at least here, Jesus says that our hearts follow our treasures. Our treasures are a direct sign, a testimony, to where our hearts truly are. Now, instead of guilt, and/or pride. Let s start with this day. Review, reflect, and have the resolve to take new steps to have our check books, accounts, and spending money be a direct correlation of treasure and heart, and heart and treasure. What are some implications and applications for your life as a STEW- there your heart will be LOOK IT UP: Matthew 6:19 21

8 DAY 7 Do Colossians 3:17 do it all in the Name of the LORD I really don t enjoy yard work, or cleaning the garage. There are tasks, assignments, responsibilities, and just the day to day stuff that we sometimes or most times do not like to do. But Paul, writing from prison, tells his faith-family in Colossae that we should have a different perspective. As impossible as that may seem for us, it appears Paul commands a new model for the lives of those who have been transformed by Jesus Christ. The attitude of thankfulness, and the calling to be all-in in whatever we do, is at least a testimony that there is something different about Jesus People.
