1 Jesus Is Both Jesus Our Savior and Example Lesson 1 leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps, 1 Pet. 2:21 As savior, Jesus has provided His perfect sacrifice for our sins As, the Father has given Him all authority after His resurrection from the dead and ascension to Heaven Evidence of miracles, prophecies and apostolic eye-witness testimony prove He is both savior and 2 Mat 26:28 for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins. Mat 26:32 "But after I have been raised, I will go ahead of you to Galilee." Act 2:22 "Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know Act 2:23 this Man, delivered over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and put Him to death. Act 2:24 "But God raised Him up again, putting an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in its power. Act 2:32 "This Jesus God raised up again, to which we are all witnesses. Act 2:33 "Therefore having been exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He has poured forth this which you both see and hear. 5 6

Act 2:42 They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 9 Following Jesus Example Christians are called to follow Jesus example, His attitudes and behavior Like the Jews who claimed to follow God while becoming unlike Him in character, we too can claim to follow Jesus and be unlike Him in character We must obey the apostles teaching including becoming like Jesus in our character 10 Mat 10:24 "A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a slave above his master. Mat 10:25 "It is enough for the disciple that he become like his teacher, and the slave like his master. If they have called the head of the house Beelzebul, how much more will they malign the members of his household! Mar 10:43 "But it is not this way among you, but whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant; Mar 10:44 and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be slave of all. Mar 10:45 "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many." 11 12

Luk 9:22 saying, "The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed and be raised up on the third day." Luk 9:23 And He was saying to them all, "If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me Joh 13:34 "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. Joh 13:35 "By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." Joh 17:16 "They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Joh 17:17 "Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth Joh 17:20 "I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; Joh 17:21 that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me. 17 Rom 8:29 For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; 2Co 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the, the Spirit. 18

Eph 5:1 Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; Eph 5:2 and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma Php 2:5 Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, Php 2:6 who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, Php 2:7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Heb 5:8 Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered. Heb 5:9 And having been made perfect, He became to all those who obey Him the source of eternal salvation, 23 24

Humble obedient self-denying servant 3. Depended on the Father through prayer 4. The greatest teacher 5. His love mercy and compassion 6. Endured suffering while trusting the Father 28
