4 This section [Col 2:4 3:4] contains... one of the most important of St. Paul s descriptions of what is achieved by the death of Christ, and one of his most emphatic reiterations of the theme of the incorporation of believers in Christ. ~C.F.D. Moule

5 Col. 2:11, and in Him you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, in the removal of the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ; Col. 2:12, having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. Col. 2:13, When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions, Col. 2:14, having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Col. 2:15, When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through Him.

7 At Salvation the POWER of the sin nature is broken! Col. 2:11, In Him [whom] you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ,

13 Jer. 9:26, Egypt, Judah, Edom, the people of Ammon, Moab, and all who are in the farthest corners, who dwell in the wilderness. For all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in the heart.

14 Ezek. 44:7, When you brought in foreigners, uncircumcised in heart and uncircumcised in flesh, to be in My sanctuary to defile it My house and when you offered My food, the fat and the blood, then they broke My covenant because of all your abominations. Ezek. 44:9, Thus says the Lord GOD: No foreigner, uncircumcised in heart or uncircumcised in flesh, shall enter My sanctuary, including any foreigner who is among the children of Israel.

The main verb is: you were circumcised [aor pass ind] This answers the question HOW are they circumcised?

Rom. 6:4, Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. συνθάπτω suntháptō; to bury
