Can ask those who are wearing orange stickers and those there for the second time to stand so that we can appreciate them There is one thing that is close to every Singaporean s heart Does anyone have any guesses? [allow children to respond] Do I hear SHOPPING? Yes, I love shopping, but that s close to my wallet, not my heart! I wish it would stay away from my wallet though, then I can save some money! Haha! Did I hear LUNGS? Hmm my lungs are next to my heart in my chest, but no the answer is not our lungs The answer is FOOD, GLORIOUS FOOD! ICE-BREAKER PRATA, WANTON MEE AND TEH TARIK! How to play Teach the children the action for each of these foods: Prata move both hands in a wave action like someone flipping a prata Wantan Mee Make hand in a Victory sign, and move fingers like chopsticks Teh Tarik Pull arms apart like someone making teh tarik At the count of three, the TL will do one of these actions, and the children will have to do an action that is different from that of the TL. E.g., if the TL does the prata action, the children should not do the prata action. Those who do the same action as the TL to sit down. Play a few rounds until a winner emerges. Give that person a prize [GKidz to provide] [TL to transition over to Worship Leader]

2 WORSHIP OFFERING AND ANNOUNCEMENTS Offering out of thanksgiving to God for all that He s blessed us with Announcement: o Slide on the next upcoming series of lessons on Prayer o Timothy Club Post-Encounter Armour of God Camp (P3 group leaders to challenge your children to go) GAME SEGMENT Cast TL Gameshow host NS Man : Mr. Goh Ah Mee Male, dressed in army uniform. Auntie : Mdm Hao Mei Li Female, loud floral top and plain pants. Wearing sunglasses, holds paper fan (leader to bring) Mr/Ms Raffles/Rafflesia Tan Shu Chong Male or Female leader, dressed in school uniform, or outfit that can pass as a school uniform if possible. Carrying backpack, wearing high socks and sports shoes. (Leader to provide) Wearing thick glasses (GKidz to provide glasses) [Play the intro trailer for We are Singaporeans gameshow] Welcome to our gameshow, We are Singaporeans! This week, we have a very special National Day episode for you with many special guest stars. But first, to warm the crowd up, we are going to play some fun and exciting games! There are attractive prizes to be won so give it your best! Ladies and gentlemen of our audience, I m sure you know many things about Singapore. We are one of the smallest countries in the world, but do you know that we have the TOP, the AWESOMEST, the NUMERO UNO NUMBER ONE, CREAM OF THE CROP airport in the world? [can start doing a celebration just like a soccer player that just scored a goal, like a victory dance] In celebration of this fact, we are going to recognize our airport s great achievement with this warm-up game! GAME #1: AIRPORT GAME Logistics: Two buckets 140 balls of scrunched up paper How to play: All the children will be split into two groups half of P1 and P2 one side, half of P1 and P3 one side. There should be a 3m space in between the groups. Each group will have the same amount of balls. Have the two groups stand on opposite sides of the center line. The TL shouts "Ready for take off! " to start the game. The balls can be passed to the other side by being kicked, thrown or rolled. After about three minutes, the TL shouts Time to land! to signal the end of the game. The group with the fewest amount of balls on their side wins.

3 Announce the winning group. No prize. Woo that was super fun! I could really imagine all the airplanes flying here there and everywhere Now that we re warmed up, we re going to play a game in our small groups! [Arrange the small groups to sit in small circles. Give P1s a headstart by placing them closest to the front] GAME #2: CHARADES MANIA Logistics: List of words to act out Prize for 1 st group [GKidz to provide] How to play: Small groups will compete against each other to act out and correctly guess a pre-determined list of items. Category is Things Singaporeans Love. Group to be seated. One representative to stand next to small group leader facing group. Small group leader to whisper the first word into the representative s ears. The representatives are to act out that word to their group. If the group guesses the word correctly, a new representative is chosen to act out the next word for the rest of the group to guess. The objective of the game is to complete the entire list of 10 items first! When you are done, wave the Singapore flag given to each group and shout your group name. Small group leaders to help the group along if they need guidance Award prize to the winning group at the end LIST OF WORDS TO GUESS 1. Soccer 2. Merlion 3. Durian 4. Shopping 5. Studying 6. For our final game, we are going to welcome some special guests on stage to help us Without further ado, let s welcome NS Man Goh Ah Mee [NS Man should change into his costume about halfway through the previous game. He comes marching out from the secret passageway entrance, before stopping in front of the stage, left turn to the front and salute make it funny by messing up your drill, like saluting with the wrong hand then correcting yourself etc.] NS Man: NS Man Goh Ah Mee reporting for duty, sir, yes sir!

4 NS Man: Wow you have a very suitable name Mr. Goh Ah Mee is going to GO ARMY. Yes, Sir! I have a very suitable name Sir! After I finish my National Service, I will change my name to GONE ARMY, Sir! Errr.. ok! Next, let s welcome Mdm Hao Mei Li ( 好美丽 )! [Auntie just needs to add her sunglasses and paper fan. Come in from secret passageway with backpack carried very high, socks pulled up, sports shoes.] Hello everybody! I am very happy to be here today! I changed the day of my math tuition, my piano class, my art lesson, and my Chinese tuition so that I can make it! Thanks so much, Raffles/Rafflesia. We are very happy to have you here too. GAME #3: GAME SHOW Okay, without further ado, we are going to start our game! How to play Each special guest will be given the same list of six questions. The TL will choose volunteer contestants from the audience, preference for visitors, and these contestants will choose which special guest they want to ask them a question. If it s the first volunteer contestant, the special guest should ask question 1. If it s the third, then the special guest should ask question 3. TL can help the guests keep track by calling the volunteer contestants, Contestant #1 etc. Special guests to ask questions in character. Contestants who answer correctly will be given a prize; contestants who answer incorrectly will be given a sweet to reward their participation. MCQ: Option 1 Trade (buying and selling things) Option 2 Teaching Option 3 Arts & Entertainment THANKSGIVING Auntie: NS Man: Auntie: You know, NS Man Goh, Mdm Hao and Raffles/Rafflesia, Singapore really is a very special country, with many things that God has blessed it with. Yah yah yah I totally agree! It is very good. I very proud to be Singaporean you know or not? I like how it is very safe. Yes that is because there are people like ME [salute], who protect the citizens of this country. Well technically, it s not just the army, but the navy and the airforce and the police and the firemen who also keep us safe. That s a good point. Singapore really is very safe. We can walk around at night without fear because we are kept safe by all these groups of people. But sadly, Singaporeans tend to complain a lot about Singapore. They complain about the weather, the price of things, the government, even if everything is going well, they will also find something to complain about. Yah lor, they complain here complain there complain complain everywhere. Nothing to complain about they also can find something to complain. Thet can even complain that there s nothing to complain about! They are complain kings and complain queens!

6 NS Man: Auntie: Er Auntie Hao, aren t you complaining about the people who are complaining now? [sudden moment of realization] Oh yah hor. How like that, I need to change! It s okay, we can stop and REVERSE this complaining culture by being thankful and grateful for our country. Just last week, during our small group lesson we learnt about two of the I wills of Obedience, I will not complain and I will go the extra mile. Let s go the extra mile now by giving thanks for our country. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 5:20 Always give thanks to God the Father for everything. Give thanks to him in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. The verse tells us to be thankful not just in some things, but in EVERYTHING. Are you sure I can give thanks about EVERYTHING? Some times it s really hard to give thanks for things when they don t go my way, like when I didn t get into my first choice primary school Yes, we can give thanks about EVERYTHING. No matter what we go through or experience we can be thankful and content, because we know that our lives are in God s hands. [Take out a clear plastic cup half-filled with water. GKidz to provide] It s just like this cup of water. When you look at it, what do you see? [Allow children to respond] Some people focus on the part of the cup that is empty, and as a result complain a lot about what they don t have. But if we focus on the part of the cup that is full, we can find something to be thankful for! [Drink some of the water until there s only 2cm of water left] Even when so much of the cup is empty, we can still be thankful about the water that remains! That s true! I was so focused on WHICH school I was in that I forgot to be thankful for WHO was in the school, like my good friends and my caring teachers. That s great! You are focusing on the part of the cup that is full! We can give thanks to God in everything, so I m going to show us a picture of a particular aspect of our country, and I would like volunteers children or leaders to come up to give thanks to God for how He has blessed our country. THANKSGIVING SEGMENT TL to guide children to give thanks for: Family Church School Teachers, friends, opportunity to learn, good education system Government Good stable leadership, low corruption Anything else Safe, good food TL can consider modeling for the children first, or getting a leader to model each segment so that the children have an example to follow. E.g., I thank God for my school that it is fun and interesting

7 BREAKING THE BARRIER / PRAYER Children, we are very thankful that God chose for us to be born in Singapore. And in the same way, we re very happy and thankful that we have new friends who can join us here today. We would like to take this opportunity to share more about God with them, and so can we invite all the children wearing the orange sticker to stand, and we ll bring you next door for a short while to share more about God with you. [Consolidation I/C + 2 other leaders to bring the children to Hall 2/Hope and Love Room to share BTB] Alright children, we can t just stop at being thankful about living in Singapore, but we also need to pray for our country and speak blessing over Singapore. We are going to pray for Singapore for each of the seven gates of cultural influence. Seven gates? I only know three gates my home gate, my school gate and Colgate! I m not talking about those gates! These are different areas in a country that have great ability to impact and influence the country either for good or bad! Think of the head prefect in your school or the person with the most friends in your class. If these people did something, would a lot of people also follow after them? Yes! In the same way, these gates have great power to make people follow them, and we need to pray for Christians to rise up and make good choices in all of these areas of our country! We are going to have different leaders lead us in praying for the different segments. PRAYER [TL please manage the time accordingly. Praying for all seven gates (A to G) briefly 2-3 minutes is ideal, but if there s limited time, focus on the last three gates Education, Family and Government. Writing the card to the Minister/MP does not need to take a lot of time Vary the praying methods to keep the children engaged repeat after the person leading in prayer, split into groups of two to three children to pray, invite a child up on stage to lead, pray together as a small group ] Pray for the Arts and Entertainment Gate o Pray that Gateway Entertainment will be a leader and have great influence in this area Pray for the Business, Science and Technology Gate o Pray that God will raise up godly young men and women to arise and shine in the area of business and science Pray for the Communications and Media Gate o Pray that the newspaper will write fair and correct articles Pray for the Divine Institutions Gate o For this gate, pray for Ps Khong and his family Pray for the Education Gate

8 o Get a child to pray for a teacher in their midst, and the teacher to pray for the children Pray for the Family Gate o Pray for your family o Pray for a family in Singapore that is going through some trouble relationship problems, divorce, financial problems. Pray that God will change the situation around! Pray for the Government Gate o For this gate, we will group the children into small groups, and allocate a cabinet minister to each group. The whole group will pray for this person, across different areas personal life, family relationships, health, work, finances, wisdom, blessing. Encourage the children to pray according to what God prompts them to pray. CARD TO MINISTER/MP GKidz will provide a card template to each small group. The children will be provided with markers, and asked to write an appreciation note to the minister or MP assigned to each small group. GKidz will mail the card to the respective MPs, provided that the children.
