2 Through the Apprentice Program, Redeemer City to City (CTC) comes alongside churches to help them identify, equip, and mobilize young leaders for the advancement of the gospel in New York City. The nine-month program prepares these young men and women for leadership in the church and other venues by helping them deepen their daily experience of the gospel, identify their unique calling, and understand what it takes to engage the city effectively. 3 OVERVIEW The Apprentice Program is a partnership between CTC and New York City pastors to develop young leaders. City to City Training for Coaching PASTORS Content and Learning Experiences APPRENTICES Ministry Experience and Coaching Over nine months, CTC will lead apprentices through five Saturday morning learning sessions, two site visits, and other related assignments. Meanwhile, pastors will supervise their apprentices in a ministry assignment in their church and meet with them every other month for coaching. Additionally, CTC will host four training sessions for pastors covering coaching principles and skills useful in developing apprentices and other leaders.

5 PROFILE OF AN APPRENTICE Apprentices are men and women roughly between the ages of 20 and 25 who have earned at least a high school diploma. Additionally, pastors should select candidates who: Display a growing relationship with God and a passion for advancing the gospel in the city Demonstrate leadership potential through their current ministry involvement Possess strong critical thinking skills Meet one of the following criteria: Are strongly considering church planting Believe they may be called to another form of vocational ministry Are uncertain of their calling, but suited for and open to considering church planting or other forms of vocational ministry Believe they are called to leadership in another area of influence in the city (i.e. the marketplace, arts, trades, etc.), but show a strong desire to support church planting efforts THE COMMITMENT DURATION: Nine months (September to June) TIME REQUIRED: 8-10 hours per month for apprentices 2-4 hours per month for pastors TUITION: $100 per apprentice Apprentices are responsible for covering their tuition.

6 NEXT STEPS If you have questions or would like to recommend young leaders from your church for the Apprentice Program, please contact Cody Dunn: Apprentices must be recommended by their pastor no later than June 15. Because space is limited, we strongly suggest that pastors submit their recommendations as soon as possible. Once recommended, candidates will complete a short application. Final acceptance will be determined by City to City in conjunction with the candidate s pastor.
